Xiaomi Mi 7 Renders Reveal Amazing Design, Biggest Screen Space on Xiaomi Phone

Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S is the first smartphone from a Chinese smartphone brand to feature the powerful Snapdragon 845. The Xiaomi Mi 7 is also expected to feature the Snapdragon 845 SoC. However, even both the phones are expected to feature similar design, the Xiaomi MI 7 is going to be better looking device. Since it is expected to arrive with a notched display design like the iPhone X, it is expected to offer highest screen space on a Xiaomi phone. Fresh renders of the phone have surfaced to reveal its exciting design.

As it can be seen in the new renders, the Xiaomi Mi 7 features a larger notch almost like the iPhone X. It is bigger than the other notched enabled Android phone such as Huawei P20, P20 Pro, P20 Pro, Honor 10, OPPO F7, OPPO R11, Vivo V9, Vivo X21 and the upcoming OnePlus 6. The reason behind it is that the Xiaomi Mi 7 will be featuring a complex system of front camera, IR sensor and some other sensors to support 3D facial recognition. It is speculated that the Mi 7 will be the first Xiaomi phone to support 3D facial identification.

The Mi 7 is also expected to arrive with under-display fingerprint scanner. This could be the reason why the renders don’t have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Xiaomi is expected to debut the Mi 7 by the first half of the year. It will be competing with the likes of OnePlus 6 and Smartisan R1.

Smartisan R1 Concept Design Appears Ahead of May 15 Launch

Smartisan, a known smartphone brand in China has recently launched the Smartisan Nut 3 smartphone. It is speculated that the upcoming Smartisan R1 could be a flagship phone that will be driven by Snapdragon 845 that powers the likes of Samsung Galaxy S9, Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S and LG G7 ThinQ. The exact appearance of the Smartisan R1 is not known, but the renders of the concept that have appeared today shows what sort of design it will be arriving with.

Smartisan phones are best known for their wonderful design. Hence, the Smartisan R1 is expected to impress its fans through its appeal too apart from flagship specs. The concept design of the Smartisan R1 shows that its display is surrounded by super-slim bezels. The lower bezel appears slight thick. The selfie camera is not visible on the top bezel. It suggested that the R1 features a flip-up front-facing camera.

The backside of the R1 features a dual camera setup on the back panel. The dual sensors are arranged in a horizontal design slightly above the center on the rear. The right side of the phone features volume buttons and another physical button. The left edge has the power button..

The Smartisan R1 is expected to debut on May 15. Smartisan CEO Luo Yonghao has confirmed recently that the R1 could be priced between 2,999 Yuan (~$475) and 15,000 Yuan ($2370). The high pricing suggests that there could be a luxury edition of R1.

HTC U12+ to Launch on May 23; Live Shots Also Appear

Last year, HTC had launched the HTC U11 smartphone with the conventional 16:9 aspect ratio display on May 16. At the end of 2017, the Taiwanese company announced the U11+ smartphone featuring 18:9 aspect ratio screen. Recent reports have revealed that the company won’t be launching a smartphone with U12 moniker this year. Instead of U12, the Taiwanese firm is expected to launch U12+ phone with flagship specs. HTC has now confirmed that it will be holding a launch event on May 23. Even though the company did not mention any information on the name of the phone that will get official on May 23, it is highly likely that it will be announcing the HTC U12+ phone. Earlier in this week, the rumor mill had also unearthed the live shots of the upcoming U12+ phone.

The HTC U12+ has a 5.99-inch S-LCD 5 panel that supports QHD+ resolution. The Snapdragon 845 chipset is present under the hood of the phone. It will be available in two variants such as 64 GB and 128 GB. Both the models are expected to feature 6 GB of RAM. Here are the live shots of the U12+ phone:

As it can be seen above the handset has a very glossy finish. It can be also seen sporting 12-megapixel + 16-megapixel dual camera setup and a fingerprint reader on the back panel. It is expected to arrive with an improved Edge Sense frame. One of the USPs of the phone is that it features 8-megapixel dual selfie cameras. It is rumored to be fueled by 3,500mAh battery. HTC has also confirmed that the smartphone will be announced in China on May 25.

360 N7 Renders Reveal Amazing Design with Triple Rear Cameras

360 Mobiles will be soon debuting a new smartphone called 360 N7. It is going to be the second Chinese smartphone to arrive with triple rear cameras after the Huawei P20 Pro. The rear design of the phone is said to be unique compared to the Apple iPhone X and Huawei P20 Pro.

As it can be seen in the renders of the 360 N7, the triple rear cameras are present at top-center of the phone in horizontal manner. The upper antenna has been brought down slightly at its center to accommodate the triple lens setup. This is simply unique as Chinese manufacturers have been blatantly copying the vertical dual camera design that was introduced on the iPhone X.

As far as the front view of the phone is concerned, the 360 N7 seems to feature an 18:9 aspect ratio display. The fingerprint scanner is placed on the rear side of the phone. Some have claimed that the appearance of the rear shell is similar to that the ZTE Small Fresh 5 phone. Shown below is the comparison between the ZTE phone and 360 N7.

Actually, the 360 Mobiles N7 is expected to arrive with impressive specs, but now that the design of the phone has been leaked, it seems that it could be a true value for money phone for Chinese market. As far as specs are concerned, the MediaTek Helio P60 chipset that was introduced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 will be powering it. The handset is also expected to carry support for MediaTek’s PumpExpress fast charging technology.

Xiaomi Yeelight Desk LED Light Pro Launched in China for 599 Yuan ($94)

Today, Xiaomi has launched a new product named Yeelight Desk LED light Pro through its crowdfunding initiative. It is a smart eye protection feature that produces natural light. The device has been introduced with a price tag of 599 Yuan ($94) in China.

Yeelight Desk LED light makes use of an advanced violet light in order to stimulate and generate a light that is similar to sunlight without being harsh on the eyes. It is an amazing product that will provide a stress-free environment while studying on the desk.

Yeelight and Seoul Semiconductor have collaborated in using SunLIke technology that makes use of advanced purple LED chip technology and TRI-R phosphor technology which produces a bright yet eye-friendly light by reducing the excess generation of blue light that is harmful to the eyes of the user.

The Yeelight Desk LED light pro features a high-precision RC filter that converts AC signal into DC which ensures that there is no strobing. This in turn protects the eyes from fatigue. The device can be also controlled using the Mijia app from the phone and has some intelligent functions for children.

Xiaomi Yeelight Desk LED Light Pro is now available with a reduced price of 599 Yuan ($94) during the crowding period. Once the crowdfunding time is over, the product is expected to sell with a higher price tag.

OnePlus 6 Appears in Real in Multiple Leaked Photos

It is no secret that the OnePlus 6 will be arriving with a notched display design like the iPhone X. Would it be better looking device than the iPhone X? Several leaked shots of the real OnePlus 6 smartphone have appeared to reveal its appearance. Also, the OP6 can be seen along with the iPhone X in one of the leaked photos.

In comparison to the iPhone X, the OnePlus 6 features a smaller notch. The reason why the OP6 has a small-sized notch than the iPhone X is that it does not feature 3D facial recognition sensors. It only houses an earpiece, an LED for notifications and a front-facing camera.

In one of the photos, the OnePlus 6 is seen resting with its older sibling, the OnePlus 5T. Except for the notched display, the OnePlus 5T seems to be resemble a bit with OP6 from the front. OnePlus 6 users will be provided with an option to hide the notch so that it appears like a slim-sized bezel.

The other features show that the new arrangement of the Alert Slider on the left side of the OnePlus 6. The bottom edge features an externa speaker, an USB-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack. Unfortunately, there is no image showing the rea side of the OP6 in this new leak. However, previous leaks have revealed that the OnePlus 6 will be equipped with a vertical dual camera and fingerprint scanner on the backside.

Xiaomi Redmi S2 Appears on Official Mi Store in Czech Republic

Yesterday, Xiaomi had released a new teaser on its Xiaomi Company Weibo account. The teaser featured a large-sized S alphabet and the company had asked to guess on the product that start with the S alphabet. Some rumors claimed that it could be the Redmi S2 smartphone, while others claimed that it could be the Surge S2 chipset that is speculated to be in works. Fresh evidence reveals that the Chinese firm could be really teasing the arrival of the Redmi S2 phone.

According to GSM Arena, a user from Czech Republic had spotted on the listing of Redmi S2 on the official website for the country. This seems to a good proof that the company will be soon announcing the Redmi S2 smartphone. The said phone has already received certifications from TENAA and 3C authorities in China.

The TENAA listing has revealed that the Xiaomi Redmi S2 has a 5.99-inch display that supports HD+ resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels. The handset is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 625 that features a 2.0 GHz octa-core processor. The S2 is expected to hit China in multiple variants such as 2 GB RAM + 16 GB storage, 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage. The handset is expected to receive power from 3,000mAh battery. Its vertical dual camera on the rear is expected to feature a 12-megapixel sensor and 5-megapixel. For selfies, it may feature 16-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash. Outside of China, it is likely to launch as an Android One device.

Its that time of the year when major smartphone brands in China are getting ready to launch the flagship phones with affordable pricing. Xiaomi Mi 7, OnePlus 6 and Smartisan R1 smartphones are expected to release soon to rival with each other. Which smartphone would you choose if you were to buy any of these? Here is a low down on the rumored specs of each of these phones.

Xiaomi Mi 7

The Xiaomi Mi 7 will be coming with a notched display like the iPhone X and it is expected to come with robust features like under-display fingerprint scanner and 3D facial scanning. The Snapdragon 845 will power it along with 6 GB of RAM. For photography, it may feature 12-megapixel + 20-megapixel dual camera setup. The IP67 glass rear totting Mi 7 is also expected to carry support wireless charging. The Mi 7 may debut by late May or early June.

OnePlus 6

OnePlus 6 will be also sporting a notched display and glass chassis. A special edition Marvel Avengers Limited Edition is also expected to release in China. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has revealed on Weibo that starting digit of OnePlus 6’s pricing is 4 which suggests that it may cost 4,000 Yuan ($626). Specs like the Snapdragon 845, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB storage are expected to be present on the highest configuration model. Also, the OnePlus flagship is expected to offer certain level of waterproofing. The OnePlus 6 is launching on May 17 in China.

Smartisan R1

Smartisan R1 is expected to get unveiled on May 15. The R1 smartphone is rumored to be enabled with wireless charging feature along with 18W fast charging. The highest model may feature 256 GB of native storage. One of the major highlights of the R1 would be its AI driven OS. There is no confirmation on whether Smartisan will be using a home-brewed OS or a heavily modified Android OS

Xiaomi Mi A2 to Feature Snapdragon 660, Android 8.1 Oreo

On April 25, Xiaomi had announced the Mi 6X smartphone in China. It is heavily speculated that the same phone would be made available outside of China as Xiaomi Mi A2. XDA Developers that has come across the firmware files of the alleged Mi A2 smartphone has revealed some of its important details.

According to the publication, the Xiaomi Mi A2 is codenamed as “jasmine_sprout” and there is another handset that has “daisy_sprout” as its codename.

The Xiaomi Mi A1 that was introduced in Septemebr last year had a codename of sprout. Hence, the publication claims that the “jasmine_sprout” could be the upcoming Xiaomi Mi A2 smartphone. There is a possibility that all the upcoming Android One phones from Xiaomi may have sprout in its codename.

Since the Mi A1 smartphone has been discontinued in India, it appears that the company is soon going to debut the Mi A2 as its successor phone. Its firmware files have revealed that it will receive power from the Snapdragon 660 chipset.

As far as “daisy_sprout” is concerned, the publication has revealed that this device is powered by Snapdragon 625. Rumors have it that Xiaomi is prepping up to launch a new budget phone called the Xiaomi Redmi S2. It has been already leaked that the phone features Snapdragon 625 SoC. Hence, it can be assumed that the Redmi S2 would be also arriving as an Android One device. The Mi A2 and Redmi S2 are expected to arrive pre-installed with Android 8.1 Oreo and are also expected to carry support for Project Treble.

Xiaomi Oculus Go Announced; Arriving in China in Summer

At the end of 2017, Facebook had announced the Oculus Go standalone VR device. However, the device was not available for purchase. Starting from today, the Oculus Go is available for buying from its official website. Facebook has teamed up with Xiaomi to sell the Oculus Go in China. The announcement was made by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg at the 2018 Facebook F8 Developer Conference earlier today.

The Oculus Go features an LCD screen that supports Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The Snapdragon 821 chipset that powered the flagship phones in 2016 is present under the hood of the Oculus Go. The device can deliver spatial audio. There is a 3-way controller button and a touch surface that can be used for navigation. It also features a 3.5mm audio jack.The device comes equipped with a 10W charger in the U.S. A companion app is also available for the Oculus Go on the Google Play Store and Apple’s AppStore.

The 32 GB edition of the Oculus Go carries a pricing of $199. According to Oculus, the 32 GB model can store up to 3 HD movies, 10 games and 20 apps. The 64 GB model is priced at $249 and it can store up to 7 HD movies, 20 games and 40 apps.

As far as availability of the Oculus Go is concerned, it will be available in 23 nations including Australia and Japan. As far as the U.S. is concerned, it will be available through leading retailers like Amazon, Best Buy and New Egg. In China, the device will be sold as Xiaomi Mi VR Standalone. It will be available by summer in China.
