As we use our smartphones daily, they gradually accumulate temporary files, cached data, installation packages, duplicate downloads, and other unnecessary files that consume valuable storage space. Over time, these junk files can slow down performance, reduce available storage, and affect the overall user experience.

Fortunately, Redmi Note series smartphones come with several built-in tools that make cleaning up junk files quick and easy. Whether you’re using a Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 13, Redmi Note 14, or an earlier model running MIUI or HyperOS, this guide will help you free up storage and keep your device running smoothly.

Why Junk Files Accumulate on Redmi Phones

Junk files are created during normal smartphone usage. Common sources include:

App cache files

Temporary system files

Installation APK packages

Social media downloads

Duplicate photos and videos

Browser cache

WhatsApp media files

Unused app data

Residual files from uninstalled applications

While these files are often necessary temporarily, they can accumulate over time and occupy several gigabytes of storage.

Method 1: Use the Built-in Security App Cleaner

The easiest and safest way to remove junk files on Redmi Note devices is through the built-in Security app.

Steps:

Open the Security app.

Tap Cleaner.

Allow the system to scan your device.

Review the detected junk files.

Tap Clean Up.

The Security app can remove:

Cache files

Obsolete installation packages

Temporary files

Memory residue

System-generated junk

This method is recommended because it is officially integrated into MIUI and HyperOS.

Method 2: Clear App Cache

Individual apps often store large amounts of cache data.

To Clear Cache:

Open Settings.

Select Apps.

Tap Manage Apps.

Choose an app.

Tap Storage.

Select Clear Cache.

Apps that commonly accumulate large caches include:

YouTube

TikTok

Instagram

Facebook

Chrome

Spotify

Netflix

Clearing cache typically does not delete personal data or account information.

Method 3: Remove Unused Applications

Many users install apps they rarely use.

To Uninstall Apps:

Open Settings.

Go to Apps.

Select Manage Apps.

Review installed applications.

Uninstall apps you no longer need.

Removing unused apps can free significant storage space and reduce background resource consumption.

Method 4: Clean WhatsApp Storage

WhatsApp is often one of the largest storage consumers on Redmi phones.

To Manage WhatsApp Storage:

Open WhatsApp.

Tap Settings.

Select Storage and Data.

Tap Manage Storage.

Review large files and forwarded media.

Delete unnecessary items.

Many users discover several gigabytes of old videos and photos stored within WhatsApp.

Method 5: Delete Downloaded Files

The Downloads folder often contains forgotten files.

Steps:

Open the File Manager app.

Navigate to Downloads.

Sort files by size.

Delete unwanted files, APKs, PDFs, and duplicate downloads.

Old installation packages can consume hundreds of megabytes without users realizing it.

Method 6: Remove Duplicate Photos and Videos

Photos and videos usually occupy the largest amount of storage.

Use Gallery Cleanup Tools:

Open Gallery.

Tap Albums.

Look for:

Duplicate photos

Similar photos

Screenshots

Large videos

Delete unnecessary items.

Regular photo maintenance can dramatically increase available storage.

Method 7: Clear Browser Data

Web browsers store temporary files and website data.

Chrome:

Open Chrome.

Tap the three-dot menu.

Select History.

Tap Clear Browsing Data.

Choose Cached Images and Files.

Confirm deletion.

This can recover a surprising amount of storage over time.

Method 8: Use Deep Clean Features

Many newer Redmi Note models running HyperOS include enhanced cleaning tools.

Access Deep Clean:

Open Security.

Select Deep Clean.

Review:

Large files

Duplicate files

Unused apps

Rarely used files

Delete unnecessary content.

Deep Clean provides more detailed storage analysis than the standard Cleaner tool.

Method 9: Transfer Files to Cloud Storage

If your device is running low on storage, consider moving files to cloud services such as:

Google Drive

Google Photos

Dropbox

OneDrive

Cloud storage helps free local storage while keeping files accessible.

Method 10: Restart Your Device Regularly

Many users overlook the benefits of restarting their phones.

Restarting:

Over time, Android smartphones generate various system logs that record device activities, app behavior, errors, crashes, and diagnostic information. While these log files are useful for developers and troubleshooting, they can sometimes consume storage space and contribute to system clutter.

If your Android phone is running low on storage or you simply want to clean unnecessary system files, understanding how to safely manage and remove log files can help improve storage efficiency without affecting device performance.

What Are Android System Log Files?

System log files are records generated by the Android operating system and installed applications. These logs help developers and system administrators diagnose problems, monitor performance, and troubleshoot software issues.

Common types of Android logs include:

System logs

Crash logs

Application logs

Kernel logs

Debug logs

Event logs

Most log files are stored in protected system directories and are automatically managed by Android. However, some logs may accumulate in accessible storage locations, especially after software updates, app crashes, or diagnostic testing.

Do Log Files Take Up Significant Storage?

In most cases, Android log files consume relatively little storage. However, excessive logging caused by malfunctioning apps, beta software, or developer settings can generate large log files that occupy hundreds of megabytes or even several gigabytes.

Signs that log files may be consuming excessive storage include:

Unexplained storage usage

Large “Other” storage category

Frequent system crash reports

Developer options enabled for debugging

Persistent app error logs

Method 1: Clear Cached Data

The easiest way to remove temporary logs and system-generated files is by clearing cached data.

Steps:

Open Settings

Tap Storage

Select Cached Data (if available)

Confirm cache deletion

On newer Android versions:

This process removes temporary files and may eliminate certain log-related data without affecting personal information.

Method 2: Use Android’s Built-In Storage Cleaner

Most Android manufacturers include built-in cleanup tools.

Samsung Devices

Open Settings

Tap Battery and Device Care

Select Storage

Tap Clean Now

Xiaomi Devices

Open Security App

Tap Cleaner

Scan device

Remove junk files

OnePlus Devices

Open Files

Tap Clean

Review recommended cleanup items

These tools often identify residual log files, temporary data, and unused files.

Method 3: Delete Log Files Using a File Manager

Some log files may be accessible through a file management application.

Common Locations

/Download

/Android/data

/MIUI/debug_log

/log

/BugReports

/CrashReports

Steps

Install a trusted file manager.

Navigate to storage folders.

Search for:

.log

bugreport

crash

dump

Review files carefully.

Delete only known log files.

Avoid removing files from system directories unless you fully understand their purpose.

Method 4: Remove Bug Reports

Android can generate detailed bug reports for diagnostics.

To Delete Bug Reports

Open Settings

Tap Storage

Open Files

Locate the Bug Reports folder

Delete old reports

Bug reports can be surprisingly large, especially after system crashes or troubleshooting sessions.

Method 5: Disable Excessive Logging in Developer Options

Developer settings can generate additional logs.

To Check Developer Options

Open Settings

Tap Developer Options

Review settings such as:

USB Debugging

Verbose Logging

Bug Report Shortcut

System Tracing

Disable features you no longer need.

If you do not use developer tools, consider turning Developer Options off entirely.

Method 6: Clear System Cache Partition (If Supported)

Some Android devices allow users to clear the cache partition through recovery mode.

General Procedure

Turn off the phone.

Enter Recovery Mode.

Select Wipe Cache Partition.

Confirm action.

Reboot the device.

This process removes temporary system files without deleting personal data.

Note that many modern Android devices have removed this option.

Method 7: Use ADB to Clear Logcat Logs

Advanced users can clear active Android logs using Android Debug Bridge (ADB).

Command

adb logcat -c

This command clears the current Logcat buffer.

Requirements:

USB debugging enabled

Android SDK Platform Tools installed

Computer connection

This method is intended primarily for developers and technical users.

What Not to Delete

Avoid deleting:

System folders

Android OS files

App databases

Configuration files

Unknown files in root directories

Removing critical system files can cause application crashes or device instability.

How Often Should You Clean Log Files?

For most users, manual log cleanup is rarely necessary. Android automatically manages most system logs and temporary files.

Consider cleaning logs if:

Storage is running low

You frequently test apps

Developer options are enabled

The device generates repeated crash reports

A troubleshooting session created large diagnostic files

A monthly cleanup is generally sufficient.

Benefits of Cleaning Log Files

Proper maintenance can provide several benefits:

More available storage space

Reduced file system clutter

Easier troubleshooting

Faster file indexing

Better organization of internal storage

However, users should not expect dramatic performance improvements solely from deleting log files.

Final Thoughts

Cleaning system log files on Android can help reclaim storage space and remove unnecessary diagnostic data. For most users, built-in storage cleaning tools and cache management features are sufficient. Advanced users can go further by reviewing bug reports, deleting accessible log files, or using ADB commands to clear active logs.

The key is to remove only unnecessary logs while avoiding critical system files. With occasional maintenance, your Android phone can stay organized, efficient, and free from excessive storage clutter.

Combining 4K resolution, ALPD laser technology, HDR support, and a projection size of up to 150 inches, the Mijia 1S offers impressive performance while requiring only a few inches of space from the wall.

Ultra-Short Throw Design

One of the standout features of the Xiaomi Mijia 1S is its ultra-short-throw projection system. Unlike traditional projectors that need to be mounted several meters away from the screen, the Mijia 1S can project a massive 100-inch image from approximately 24 cm (9.4 inches) away from the wall. With a throw ratio of just 0.23:1, users can enjoy screen sizes ranging from 80 to 150 inches while keeping the projector neatly positioned on a TV cabinet.

Many users of Redmi Note 13 series notice battery drain issues where the system itself (MIUI/HyperOS system processes) consumes unusually high power. This can reduce screen-on time and make the phone feel less efficient even when apps are not heavily used.

In most cases, this is caused by background system activity, misconfigured settings, or software optimization issues rather than hardware defects.

Below is a complete guide to help you identify and fix the problem.

1. Check Battery Usage First

Before making changes, confirm what is draining your battery:

Go to:
Settings → Battery → Battery usage

Look for:

“System”

“Android OS”

“MIUI / HyperOS services”

If system usage is consistently high (above 25–40%), optimization is needed.

2. Restart the Phone (Quick Fix)

A simple restart can immediately reduce system drain caused by:

Stuck background processes

Temporary system bugs

Sync loops

Hold power button → Restart → check battery again after a few hours

3. Disable Unnecessary Background Autostart

Many system apps run in the background unnecessarily.

Steps:
Settings → Apps → Permissions → Autostart

Turn OFF for:

Unused Xiaomi apps

Third-party apps not needed for notifications

This reduces system wake-ups.

4. Limit Background Activity

Go to:
Settings → Battery → App battery saver

For high-drain apps:

Set to “Restrict background activity”

Or “Smart restrict”

This prevents system services from constantly waking apps.

5. Turn Off Always-On Network Scanning

System drain often comes from constant scanning.

Disable:

Wi-Fi scanning

Bluetooth scanning

Path:
Settings → Location → Location services → Disable scanning

6. Reduce Sync Frequency

Cloud and account sync can heavily affect system power usage.

Check:
Settings → Accounts & sync

You can:

Turn off auto-sync for unused accounts

Reduce sync frequency for Xiaomi Cloud, Gmail, etc.

7. Update System Software

Battery drain is often fixed in updates.

Go to:
Settings → About phone → System update

Install:

MIUI updates

HyperOS updates

Security patches

Many “system drain” bugs are patched in updates.

8. Clear Cache Partition (Advanced Fix)

System cache corruption can increase battery usage.

Steps:

Power off phone

Enter recovery mode

9. Check for High Refresh Rate Impact

Redmi Note 13 supports high refresh rates, which increase system workload.

Try:

Switch from 120Hz → 60Hz

If battery improves significantly, system load is partly display-related.

10. Disable Unnecessary System Features

Turn off features you don’t use:

Always-on display

11. Check for Rogue Apps Triggering System Drain

Sometimes system battery usage is actually caused by apps.

Look for:

iGEEKPHONE News reported on May 9th: The blogger “Digital chat Station” hinted that the next-generation operating system of Xiaomi, “Piranha OS 4”, is expected to be officially launched in June. The brand-new Xiaomi 18 series will be the first to ship with this system pre-installed.

Compared to the release of Hyper OS 3 in August last year, the release schedule of the new generation system has been significantly accelerated. Hyper OS 4 will further deepen the ecological construction centered around artificial intelligence and will prioritize the improvement of operational efficiency as the core of the technological iteration.

It is known that the Xiaomi system team is conducting a thorough overhaul of the underlying system. Starting from Hyper OS 3.1, system applications such as weather and photo album have removed the MIUI SDK, and the upcoming Hyper OS 4 plans to completely eliminate all residual code from the MIUI era.

By shedding the heavy historical burdens, Hyper OS 4 will transform into a more pure and independent operating system. This profound slimming process implies a qualitative leap in the system’s running speed and response sensitivity， and the system performance will become more lightweight.
One of the core goals of this system reconfiguration is to ensure that mid-range and low-end models can also enjoy long-lasting smooth experiences. By redistributing hardware resources from the bottom layer, the new system effectively resolves the performance bottleneck issues faced by low-power processors in resource-constrained environments.

Even on 200usd phones and mid-range devices, Hyper OS 4 can offer an extremely smooth experience. This precise optimization of the resource scheduling mechanism will significantly enhance the daily usage experience of non-flagship devices， and extend the lifecycle of the system.

Following Xiaomi’s usual update strategy, apart from the flagship series Xiaomi 18, many older flagship models including Xiaomi 17 series will also receive compatibility updates successively. For the majority of Xiaomi users, this is undoubtedly a very anticipated experience upgrade.

After the release of HyperOS, Xiaomi upgraded millions of devices to the new operating system, while many devices were added to the list of discontinued support.

However, in 2026, two overseas devices continued to receive MIUI updates – Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+. The operating system of these two devices was Android 13, and they continued to receive security patches and minor version updates. Their last update was the firmware version V14.0.44.0.TGOMIXM released in December 2025. The official website mentioned that support would be discontinued on March 24, 2026.

Now, both devices have officially stopped all types of software updates, marking the complete discontinuation of the traditional MIUI.

MIUI was actually the first product of Xiaomi. It was released earlier than any of Xiaomi’s hardware products. It was first launched in August 2010 and was based on the Android 2.2 Froyo system. The early versions of MIUI were distributed as custom ROMs for third-party Android phones.

On October 17, 2023, Xiaomi announced the new operating system, Xiaomi HyperOS, and gradually replaced MIUI.

Redmi K90 Pro Max, as a powerful flagship model, comes with the MIUI system that offers users a wide range of functions. However, some users may find the ad push function built into the system annoying. Below, we will detail the practical methods for disabling ads from three aspects: system settings, application management, and notification control.

1. System-level Ad Blocker

Disable system tool advertisements
Go to “Settings” – “Xiaomi Account” – “Terms and Conditions” – “System Ads”, and turn off the “System Tools Ads” switch. This operation can block the promotional content in system applications such as weather, calendar, and file management, reducing the number of ad sources by approximately 60%.

2. Disable the User Experience Program

In the “Settings” – “Password and Security” – “System Security” section, disable the “Join User Experience Program” option. This feature collects user behavior data for advertising push purposes. Once disabled, the system will stop providing personalized advertising recommendations.

3. Pure Mode Deep Cleaning

Open “Settings” – “Special Features” and select “Clean Mode”. The system will automatically block advertisements from non-official app stores and restrict the operation of background advertisement processes. It should be noted that this mode may affect the normal functions of some third-party applications.

II. In-app Advertising Management

Special settings for pre-installed applications
Browser: Go to “Settings” – “Homepage Settings”, select “Simple Version”, and turn off “Grid Position Push” and “News Recommendation”.
App Store: In the “My” – “Settings” – “Privacy Settings” section, disable “Personalized Recommendations”, as well as “App Update Reminders” and “Related Recommendations”.
– Theme Wallpaper: By going to “My” – “Privacy Settings”, disable “Personalized Content Recommendations” to prevent advertisements from being inserted into the wallpaper library.

2. Third-party application permission control

For video and shopping applications, in the “Application Information” – “Permission Management” section, disable “Screen Lock Display” and “Background Pop-up Interface”. For instance, after disabling the “Screen Lock Permission” for a certain video application, its pop-up advertisements will no longer be able to be displayed on the lock screen.

III. Notification and Permission Optimization

Notification classification management
In the “Settings” – “Notifications and Control Center” – “Notification Management” section, set the notification permissions for non-essential applications (such as games and shopping) to “Not Allowed”. In particular, disable the “Marketing Notifications” and “Promotional Messages” categories, which can reduce the number of notification bar advertisements by over 80%.

2. Intelligent service process termination

Go to “Settings” – “Privacy Protection” – “Special Permission Settings” – “Display on top of other apps”, then find the “Smart Services” app and disable its permissions. This service is the core process for MIUI’s ad push. Once disabled, system-level ads will significantly decrease.

3. Data network access restrictions

For applications in the advertising-prone areas (such as news and short videos), in the “Application Information” – “Network Control” section, only the “WLAN” permission should be retained. When using mobile data, these applications will be unable to load the advertising content, but it will not affect the use of basic functions.

Advanced Technique: Deep Cleaning with ADB Commands

For technical users, they can connect their mobile phones to computers to execute ADB commands to completely remove the system advertisement components. For instance, entering `pm uninstall -k –user 0 com.miui.systemAdSolution` can uninstall the system advertisement service module. This method requires enabling USB debugging mode. It is recommended to back up important data before proceeding with the operation.

By combining the above methods, the advertising interference of Redmi K90 Pro Max can be reduced by over 90%. Users can choose to adopt some or all of the solutions according to their actual needs, ensuring system security while achieving a clean and smooth usage experience.

Igeekphone News reported on February 4th: According to industry norms, Xiaomi is expected to officially launch the brand-new Hyper OS 4 operating system in the second half of this year. Recently, developers analyzing the code of Paiming OS 3.1 discovered that Xiaomi is systematically and in stages removing the old code that has been in use for many years.

Based on the current progress, Hyper OS 3.1 has begun to remove the MIUI SDK from some system modules such as weather and photo album. This indicates that Hyper OS 4， which is expected to be released in August 2026， will become the first truly zero-residue iteration version of MIUI. At that time， all the residual codes accumulated from the initial MIUI stage until now will be completely removed.

This transformation brought a qualitative change in technology for Xiaomi, marking that Hyper OS 4 would exist as a completely independent operating system, completely shedding its status as a derivative version of MIUI. With the removal of the heavy historical burden， the smoothness and response speed of the system are expected to undergo a qualitative leap.

In the Hyper OS 3.1 version, some forward-looking attempts can already be observed, such as the reconfiguration of the core system applications using Google’s Flutter toolkit and the Rust language. This not only indicates that Hyper OS is moving towards a modular application architecture, but also represents a bold innovation in the underlying logic of Xiaomi.

By introducing the Flutter engine, Hyper OS 4 will achieve standardization of UI rendering and logical stability across the entire system’s partitions, thereby replacing the fragmented Java or Kotlin legacy structures present in earlier versions. This deep restructure demonstrates that Xiaomi is attempting to fundamentally address the long-standing problems of lag and fragmentation in the Android system.

For the majority of users, older models and entry-level, mid-range devices will be the biggest beneficiaries. By completely eliminating those bloated legacy processes, the new system directly addresses the resource bottleneck issues that low-end processors often encounter in environments with limited memory. Even under conditions where hardware performance is limited, the Pengpai OS 4 can still bring significant improvements in smoothness for these devices.

For users of Redmi K90, restoring to the initial version (i.e., downgrading the system or reverting to the factory-installed system) is a common requirement to address system lag, compatibility issues, or to access the functions of the older version. This article will provide detailed explanations of three scientific and safe operation methods, covering the system rollback needs in different scenarios.

I. Reset to Factory Settings: Applicable to regular scenarios where the BL lock has not been unlocked.
If the Bootloader (BL lock) of the mobile phone is not unlocked and the target version is only slightly different from the current version, a basic rollback can be achieved by restoring the factory settings. This method is simple to operate, but please note the following steps:

Data backup: Through “Settings – My Device – Backup and Restore”, contact information, photos, documents, etc. can be backed up to Xiaomi Cloud or a computer. If the phone has an SD card inserted, it is necessary to remove it in advance to avoid accidental deletion.
2. Enter Recovery Mode: After powering off the device, press and hold the “volume down + power button” for 10 seconds. Wait for the phone to vibrate and then release the button. This will bring you to the Fastboot interface. Use the volume keys to select “Recovery Mode”, and after entering, choose “Clear Data – Factory Reset”.
3. Wait for the system rollback: The phone will automatically delete the current system and install the factory-installed version. The entire process takes approximately 15 minutes. After the restoration is complete, you will need to reconfigure basic settings such as language and Wi-Fi.
Notes: This method is only applicable for version rollbacks within the same major version (e.g., reverting from MIUI 15.0.1 to 15.0.0). If you attempt a cross-version operation (such as reverting from MIUI 15 to MIUI 14), it may result in the system not starting.

II. Manual Replacement of System Packages: Suitable for precise downgrade when BL lock has been unlocked
For users who have unlocked the BL lock, they can achieve precise downgrade by replacing the system update package. This method requires downloading the target version package and manually triggering the installation:
Download the target version package: Obtain the old version system package that matches the Redmi K90 from the official Xiaomi community or a third-party ROM site (make sure the version number is compatible with the hardware).
2. Rename and Replace: Rename the downloaded ZIP file to “download_rom.zip” and then move it to the “/download_rom” directory on the phone.
3. Trigger system verification: Go to “Settings – My Device – MIUI Version”, click the upper right menu and select “Manually Select Installation Package”. The system will automatically verify and install the previous version.
4. Clear data and restart: After installation, in the Recovery mode, select “Clear data” to avoid system abnormalities caused by cache conflicts.
Risk Warning: If the replacement process is interrupted or the package name is incorrect, it may cause the device to brick. It is recommended to keep the phone’s battery level above 50% throughout the process and turn off the “System Automatic Update” function before operating.

III. Retracing of the Line Brush Tool: The Ultimate Solution
When the above methods fail, the wire brush is the ultimate solution to restore to the original version. This method requires unlocking the BL lock and using professional tools. The operation steps are as follows:
Unlock BL lock: Apply for unlocking permission through the official website of Xiaomi Unlock Tool. After waiting for the 72-hour review period, connect the computer in Fastboot mode to perform the unlocking process.
2. Enter EDL mode: After powering off, press and hold the “volume down + power button” to enter Fastboot mode. Then, use the data cable to short-circuit the test points to trigger the EDL (Emergency Download Mode).
3. Flashing the old version: Open the official Xiaomi flashing tool (MiFlash), select the path of the line flashing package that matches the Redmi K90, click “Refresh” to identify the device, and then proceed with the flashing process. The entire process takes approximately 5 minutes.
4. Initial Setup: After the device is flashed, it will automatically restart to the initial settings interface. You will need to reconfigure the language, Wi-Fi, and other parameters.
Technical requirements: The line brush operation requires entering the EDL mode and involves hardware short-circuiting. For beginners, it is recommended to seek assistance from Xiaomi’s after-sales service or professional repair shops to complete the operation.

Key Considerations:
Data Security: Before any operation, make sure to back up the data to prevent data loss due to system rollback.
2. Version Compatibility: Downgrading across major version numbers may cause system instability. It is recommended to preferentially choose the official recommended rollback version.
3. Battery Assurance: During the operation, ensure that the phone has sufficient battery power (it is recommended to keep it above 50%). Avoid interrupting the flashing process due to low battery levels.
4. Disable the “Find My Phone” function: If the “Find My Phone” feature is enabled, you need to log in to your Xiaomi account before using it to turn it off. Otherwise, after the device is restored, it may trigger the activation lock.

By using the above methods, users of Redmi K90 can choose the appropriate system rollback solution according to their own needs. If there are any doubts about the operation steps, it is recommended to refer to the official Xiaomi documentation or contact customer service for technical support.

In today’s era of widespread smartphone usage, the choice of time display format not only reflects personal habits but also impacts the efficiency of daily life. For users accustomed to the 24-hour system, Redmi K90 Pro Max offers a simple and intuitive setup process, allowing for the switch to be completed in just three steps. This article will combine system logic with user scenarios to provide a detailed analysis of the operation steps and advanced features.

1. Basic Settings: Switch to 24-hour format in three steps

Enter the system settings interface
The MIUI system installed on the Redmi K90 Pro Max offers two quick access methods:
Main screen quick access: On the desktop, locate the gear-shaped “Settings” icon and click on it to directly enter the system menu.
– Pull-down notification bar: Slide down from the top of the screen to expand the notification bar. Click the gear icon in the upper right corner. This is suitable for single-handed operation scenarios.

2. Positioning of the Date and Time Module

In the settings interface, swipe down to the “System and Devices” category, and click on the “More Settings” option. After entering, the top of the list will be the “Date and Time” entry. This module centrally manages core functions such as time format, time zone, and automatic synchronization, avoiding users’ repeated navigation between different levels of menus.

3. Enable 24-hour time display

On the “Date and Time” interface, locate the “Time Display” or “Use 24-hour Format” option (the wording may vary slightly depending on the MIUI version). Click the switch button on the right. When the switch turns blue or shows the “On” status, the system has completed the setting. At this point, return to the home screen. The status bar time will automatically update to the 24-hour format, for example, “15:30” instead of “3:30 PM”.

II. Advanced Function: Scenario-based Time Management

Dual-clock display: A powerful tool for cross-border collaboration
For business people who frequently travel, enabling the “Dual Clock” function allows them to display both local time and the time of another time zone simultaneously. For instance, setting the main clock as “Asia/Shanghai” and the secondary clock as “America/New_York”, the lock screen interface will clearly indicate the time difference between the two regions, preventing confusion regarding meeting times across different time zones.

2. Display Standby (AOD): Low-power time-limited display

In the “Screen Off and Lock Screen” settings, enable the “All-Seeing Screen Off” function. Even when the screen is turned off, the time will continue to be displayed in a low-power mode. Users can customize over 20 different styles such as digital clock and dial clock, or upload family photos as the background, balancing practicality and personalization.

3. Time Watermark Photography: Precisely Documenting Life

The “time watermark” function in the camera application can automatically mark the shooting time in the lower right corner of the photo, accurate to the second. For researchers who record experimental data or travelers who organize travel photos, this function can avoid the errors caused by manual marking and improve the efficiency of information management.

III. Exception Handling: Common Issues Troubleshooting

If the user still encounters abnormal time display after completing the settings, please follow the steps below to troubleshoot:
Check the automatic synchronization function: Make sure the “Automatically Determine Date and Time” switch is turned on. The phone will synchronize with the network time server every 15 minutes via the NTP protocol. If the network signal is unstable, you can try switching to mobile data or restarting the device.

2. Manual Time Calibration: After disabling automatic synchronization, click “Set Date” and “Set Time” to manually enter the correct values, and confirm that the time zone is set to “GMT+8” (China Standard Time).

3. Application Compatibility Check: Some third-party applications (such as flight management tools) may set the time format independently. If the time in the application is not updated synchronously, it is necessary to make adjustments separately in the application settings, or contact the developer to report the compatibility issue.

IV. User Scenario Adaptation Suggestions

Business professionals: By enabling the 24-hour system and the dual clock function, it is possible to efficiently manage the time for cross-border meetings and avoid communication errors caused by time zone confusion.
– Student group: A uniform time format helps cultivate the habit of time management, reduces the cognitive interference caused by morning/afternoon designations, and enhances learning efficiency.
– Elderly users: If accustomed to the 12-hour system, they can keep the default settings or switch to the 24-hour system at any time via the “Use 24-hour System” switch, meeting diverse needs.

The time management function of Redmi K90 Pro Max not only covers basic calibration but also extends to scenario-based applications and personalized customization. Through fine-grained control options, users can flexibly adjust parameters according to their actual needs to build an efficient time management system. This design concept is a vivid demonstration of the “people-oriented” philosophy of intelligent devices.
