Xiaomi is preparing one of its most ambitious flagship launches to date, with the 18 series introducing industry-first 2nm silicon, a physical AI interaction button, and battery capacities that push well beyond current smartphone norms.

Igeekphone, August 18, 2026 – Xiaomi is set to redefine the flagship smartphone landscape with its upcoming Xiaomi 18 series, bringing together cutting-edge semiconductor technology, AI-first hardware design, and unprecedented battery capacity.

According to reliable industry leaker Smart Pikachu, the Xiaomi 18 series will introduce a physical AI button across the entire lineup—a feature that signals Xiaomi’s growing commitment to on-device artificial intelligence. Meanwhile, the Pro and Pro Max variants are poised to become the world’s first smartphones powered by TSMC’s 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset, delivering a generational leap in performance and efficiency.

A Dedicated AI Button: Redefining On-Device AI Interaction

The most distinctive hardware addition to the Xiaomi 18 series is the dedicated AI button, standard across all models. Unlike software-based AI assistants that require screen unlocking and multiple taps, this physical key offers instantaneous access to AI capabilities.

According to Smart Pikachu, the button supports multi-level customizable operation logic:

Single tap – Quick AI action

Double tap – Secondary AI function

Long press – Tertiary AI capability

Users can bind these gestures to various Xiaomi AI services, including:

Xiao AI voice assistant

Real-time translation

Image recognition

Document summarization

The key advantage? All of this is accessible without unlocking the screen, dramatically reducing friction for everyday AI interactions.

HyperOS 4: The Software Backbone

The AI button is expected to work in tandem with HyperOS 4, Xiaomi’s next-generation operating system. HyperOS 4 is rumored to feature deep integration with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro’s AI compute capabilities, enabling smarter system-level scheduling and more efficient on-device AI processing. Together, the hardware button and software ecosystem aim to make AI truly ubiquitous in daily smartphone use.

A Staggered Launch Strategy

In a notable departure from previous release cycles, Xiaomi is implementing a staggered launch strategy for the 18 series:

Model

December 2026

Unconfirmed (likely different chip)

This two-phase approach is unusual for Xiaomi, which traditionally launches all variants simultaneously. Industry observers suggest the decision may be driven by supply chain considerations, with the 2nm chip’s production capacity limiting initial volumes. The standard model is expected to feature a different processor—possibly a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 or MediaTek alternative—to control overall costs and maintain competitive pricing.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro: The 2nm Powerhouse

The Xiaomi 18 Pro and Pro Max will debut Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, manufactured on TSMC’s advanced 2nm process node. This represents a significant milestone in smartphone silicon, with the 2nm node offering a 30% transistor density increase over the previous 3nm generation.

Detailed Specifications

The combination of the 2nm process, Oryon CPU architecture, and Adreno 850 GPU positions the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Pro Max as the most powerful Android smartphones of 2026, with particular strengths in AI workloads and gaming.

Display: Super Pixel Straight Screen

Both Pro models will feature a new “super pixel” straight display, a technology that achieves 2K-level clarity with 1K-level power consumption—a significant efficiency gain that should translate to longer battery life without compromising visual quality.

The design adopts a large R-angle, ultra-narrow quadrilateral bezel approach, minimizing the display’s footprint while maximizing screen real estate. For users who prefer flat displays over curved edges, this is a welcome return to form.

Imaging: Dual 200MP Configurations

Xiaomi continues its push into professional-grade mobile photography with two distinct camera configurations for the Pro and Pro Max.

Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Camera System

Total Configuration

Dual 200MP triple-camera

The Pro Max stands out with its LOFIC (Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor) technology on the main sensor. LOFIC sensors excel in high dynamic range scenarios, capturing more detail in both highlights and shadows—a critical advantage for challenging lighting conditions.

Xiaomi 18 Pro Camera System

200MP large-sensor telephoto macro

Ultra-Wide

Not specified (likely present but not 200MP)

The Pro variant shares the same 200MP main sensor and telephoto macro as the Pro Max, but lacks LOFIC support. For most users, the Pro’s camera system will still deliver exceptional image quality, while the Pro Max caters to photography enthusiasts seeking the absolute best.

Battery and Charging: Industry-Leading Capacity

Battery life has long been a differentiator for Xiaomi’s flagship devices, and the 18 series takes this to new heights.

Model

Battery Capacity

Charging Speed

Xiaomi 18 Pro

7000mAh-class

Xiaomi 18 Pro Max

8000mAh-class

100W fast charging + wireless

The 7000mAh battery in the Pro is particularly noteworthy given its compact form factor—achieving such capacity in a smaller device is a testament to battery density improvements. The Pro Max’s 8000mAh battery pushes the boundaries of what’s possible in a flagship smartphone, potentially offering two to three days of normal use on a single charge.

Both models support 100W fast charging and wireless charging, ensuring that even these massive batteries can be replenished quickly when needed.

Industry Context and Competitive Positioning

The Xiaomi 18 series arrives at a pivotal moment in the smartphone industry. Several key trends are converging:

2nm adoption – TSMC’s 2nm process represents a significant leap in semiconductor manufacturing, and Xiaomi’s early adoption positions it ahead of competitors like Samsung and Apple in the 2nm race.

What to Expect at Launch

The Xiaomi 18 Pro and Pro Max are scheduled to debut in September 2026, with the standard model following in December. Key areas to watch include:

Official pricing – The Pro models will likely command a premium, potentially exceeding ¥5,000 ($700 USD) for the base configs

HyperOS 4 features – Deep AI integration and system-level optimizations

Global availability – Whether Xiaomi will release these models internationally or restrict them to the Chinese market

Alternative chip for standard model – Confirmation of whether the standard Xiaomi 18 will use a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 or MediaTek chip

Final Thoughts

The Xiaomi 18 series represents a turning point for the brand—not just in specifications, but in product strategy and vision.

With the first 2nm Snapdragon chip, a dedicated AI button, and battery capacities that dwarf most competitors, Xiaomi is signaling its ambition to lead rather than follow. The staggered launch strategy suggests a more mature product planning approach, while the Pro and Pro Max variants offer clear differentiation for different user segments.

For consumers, the Xiaomi 18 series promises next-generation performance, AI-first interaction, and unprecedented battery endurance. All eyes will be on September 2026 to see if Xiaomi delivers on its ambitious promises.

Stay tuned for comprehensive coverage of the Xiaomi 18 series launch.

That matters because televisions are not all equipped with the same audio outputs, and users don’t always want to connect a speaker in the same way. A wireless connection can keep the setup clean, while an AUX connection can provide a straightforward wired alternative.

The SoundBond A108 combines these two connection methods with 20W output, dual diaphragms, and a 4000mAh battery, making it more versatile than a speaker designed exclusively for permanent wired TV use.

What Does “Dual Mode” Mean on the SoundBond A108?

For the SoundBond A108, dual mode refers primarily to its two playback/connection options: Bluetooth and AUX.

In practical terms, you can think of the two modes like this:

Bluetooth mode: Connect a compatible TV or other Bluetooth-enabled device wirelessly.

AUX mode: Connect the speaker to a compatible audio source using a 3.5mm AUX connection.

This gives the A108 two different ways to receive audio instead of forcing users to rely on only one connection standard.

That distinction is important. “Dual mode” doesn’t necessarily mean that the speaker produces two different sound profiles or that it automatically combines two audio sources. Instead, it gives you two ways to connect and play audio.

Why Have Both Bluetooth and AUX?

At first glance, Bluetooth might seem sufficient for a modern TV speaker. However, wired and wireless connections each have their own advantages.

Bluetooth: Cleaner and More Flexible

Bluetooth removes the need for an audio cable between the TV and speaker.

If your compatible television supports Bluetooth audio output, you can pair it with the A108 and avoid running an AUX cable across your TV stand.

The same wireless capability can also make the speaker useful beyond television watching. For example, you can potentially use it with compatible smartphones, tablets, computers, or other Bluetooth-enabled devices.

This makes the A108 less of a single-purpose TV accessory and more of a multi-use wireless speaker.

AUX: A Simple Wired Alternative

AUX provides the opposite approach.

Instead of pairing devices wirelessly, you connect the speaker directly to a compatible audio output using a cable.

This can be useful when:

Your TV doesn’t support Bluetooth audio.

You prefer a wired connection.

You don’t want to deal with Bluetooth pairing.

You are connecting the speaker to another compatible audio source.

You want a straightforward connection that doesn’t depend on wireless pairing.

For households with older or mixed-generation devices, having AUX available can be particularly useful.

SoundBond A108 Bluetooth vs AUX

The easiest way to understand the A108’s dual-mode design is to compare the two connection methods.

Neither mode is universally better.

The right choice depends on your television, your preferred setup, and how you intend to use the speaker.

Does Bluetooth Make the SoundBond A108 More Than a TV Speaker?

Yes, potentially.

The inclusion of Bluetooth is significant because the A108 isn’t restricted to receiving audio from a television. Its 4000mAh battery also makes the design more suitable for moving the speaker between locations than a conventional permanently powered TV speaker.

For example, you could use the A108 in a living room for television audio and later use it for wireless music playback from another compatible device.

That creates a useful distinction between a TV speaker and a speaker that happens to work well with a TV.

The former is usually designed around one primary purpose. The latter can fit into several different listening scenarios.

What Does the 20W Output Add?

The A108 is rated at 20W output power, which gives some context for where the speaker fits in the market.

However, wattage alone doesn’t determine sound quality.

A speaker’s actual listening experience also depends on factors such as:

Speaker design

Driver configuration

Enclosure design

Audio tuning

Listening distance

Room size

Source quality

Therefore, it would be misleading to assume that a 20W speaker will automatically sound better than every TV’s built-in speakers.

The more useful question is whether the A108 provides a practical external audio solution for your particular viewing environment.

For a bedroom, study, apartment, or other relatively compact space, a dedicated external speaker can be an attractive alternative to relying exclusively on small TV-integrated speakers.

What Are the Dual Diaphragms For?

The SoundBond A108 also features dual diaphragms.

A diaphragm is the part of a speaker driver that moves in response to an electrical audio signal and creates changes in air pressure that we hear as sound.

Having a dual-diaphragm design is therefore part of the A108’s acoustic construction, rather than another meaning of “dual mode.”

This distinction is worth emphasizing:

Dual mode describes the speaker’s connection/playback options, while dual diaphragms describe part of its hardware design.

They are two completely different features.

Is Bluetooth Always the Best Choice for TV Audio?

Not necessarily.

Bluetooth is convenient, but television compatibility should always be checked before assuming that any TV can send its audio to a Bluetooth speaker.

Some televisions support Bluetooth audio output, while others may have different connection limitations.

If your TV supports compatible Bluetooth audio transmission, the A108 can provide a convenient cable-free setup.

If it doesn’t, the AUX option may provide an alternative—provided the television has a compatible audio output.

This is one of the strongest reasons to have both connection methods available.

When Should You Use Bluetooth Mode?

Bluetooth is particularly attractive when you want:

A cleaner TV setup

Without an audio cable running from the television to the speaker, the area around the TV can look less cluttered.

Easy switching between compatible devices

Bluetooth can make the speaker useful for more than television audio.

Greater portability

Because the A108 has a built-in 4000mAh battery, wireless operation fits naturally with moving the speaker around.

A simple entertainment setup

For users whose television already supports Bluetooth audio output, wireless pairing can be an easy way to add an external speaker.

When Does AUX Make More Sense?

AUX is worth considering when:

Your television doesn’t offer suitable Bluetooth audio output.

You prefer a wired connection.

You want to avoid wireless pairing.

Your audio source has a compatible AUX output.

The speaker will normally stay close to the TV.

In other words, AUX isn’t an outdated feature that has no purpose simply because Bluetooth exists. It gives the A108 another compatibility path.

Is the SoundBond A108 Really a “Dual-Mode” TV Speaker?

Yes, but the phrase should be interpreted correctly.

The A108’s dual-mode concept is best understood as two connection choices rather than two separate speakers or two independent sound systems.

You have:

Bluetooth → wireless audio

and

AUX → wired audio

That flexibility is arguably more important than the marketing phrase itself.

A TV setup can change over time. You might upgrade your television, move the speaker to another room, connect a laptop, or decide that you no longer want cables around your entertainment center. Supporting both connection methods gives the A108 more room to adapt.

Who Can Benefit Most From the A108?

The SoundBond A108 may make the most sense for users looking for a compact external TV speaker with flexible connectivity.

It is particularly interesting for:

People who want an alternative to built-in TV speakers

Users with Bluetooth-capable televisions

People who still want a wired AUX option

Bedroom or small-room TV setups

Users who want a speaker that can also work with other compatible devices

People who value portability and don’t want a permanently wired speaker

It’s less about replacing a high-end home theater system and more about providing a flexible, relatively simple audio solution.

Final Verdict: Dual Mode Is About Flexibility

The most important thing to understand about the SoundBond A108 Dual Mode TV Speaker is that “dual mode” isn’t simply a marketing term for better sound.

It refers to the ability to use Bluetooth or AUX depending on the device and situation.

That makes the A108 more adaptable than a speaker with only one connection method. Bluetooth provides a cleaner wireless setup, while AUX offers a straightforward wired alternative. Combined with 20W output, dual diaphragms, and a 4000mAh battery, the A108 is positioned as a versatile speaker that can serve both TV and general audio purposes.

Before you wonder which mode sounds better on the A108, pause and ask yourself a more practical question: Which connection actually fits my TV and my daily listening habits? That’s where the A108’s dual-mode design truly shines—it’s not about choosing the “better” sound, but about choosing the smarter connection for your setup.

Xiaomi’s next-generation large-screen foldable smartphone is once again attracting attention. Recent leaks suggest that the Xiaomi MIX Fold 5 could return with a comprehensive hardware and software upgrade, potentially featuring Xiaomi’s next-generation self-developed flagship chipset, XRing O3, alongside HyperOS 4 and Android 17.

The MIX Fold 5 would also mark an important return for Xiaomi’s large foldable lineup. The company launched the MIX Fold 4 in July 2024, but did not follow it with another large foldable in 2025. If the latest reports are accurate, Xiaomi could be preparing to re-enter the segment after a two-year gap with a substantially redesigned device rather than a conventional annual refresh.

HyperOS 4 and Android 17

One of the most interesting details in the latest leak comes from a suspected MIX Fold 5 system screenshot.

The device reportedly appears under the codename “lhasa”, while the software version begins with 4.0 and the Android version is listed as Android 17.

If the leaked images and device information are genuine, this would suggest that Xiaomi is already testing its next-generation operating system on the new foldable.

For a large foldable device, software optimization is particularly important. Unlike conventional smartphones, foldables need to support seamless transitions between the external and internal displays, as well as split-screen layouts, multi-window applications, landscape interfaces and more sophisticated background resource management.

HyperOS 4 could therefore play a major role in the MIX Fold 5’s user experience. Features such as AI-powered note taking, cross-application workflows, file management and cross-device collaboration can potentially benefit significantly from the larger unfolded display.

The leaked system information does not confirm the final software experience, but it provides an indication that Xiaomi is testing Android 17-based HyperOS 4 on the foldable platform.

XRing O3 Could Be the MIX Fold 5’s Biggest Highlight

The chipset is expected to be one of the defining features of the MIX Fold 5.

Previous reports have claimed that Xiaomi could equip the device with its next-generation self-developed flagship processor, XRing O3. The chip is reportedly expected to continue using a 3nm manufacturing process, although Xiaomi has yet to officially disclose its specifications.

Details such as CPU architecture, maximum clock speeds, GPU configuration, ISP capabilities and NPU performance remain unknown.

Xiaomi’s first-generation XRing O1 already demonstrated the company’s ambition to develop its own flagship smartphone silicon. The chip was reportedly manufactured using a 3nm process and featured approximately 190 billion transistors, a 10-core CPU and a 16-core GPU. It has also been used in smartphone and tablet products.

If XRing O3 continues to use a 3nm process, the manufacturing node itself may not be the most important upgrade. Instead, improvements to CPU architecture, GPU efficiency, image processing, AI acceleration, memory architecture, cache design and power management could have a greater impact on real-world performance.

A More Challenging Test for Xiaomi’s Chip

Using a next-generation self-developed chipset in a large foldable could provide a more demanding test of Xiaomi’s engineering capabilities than deploying it in a conventional smartphone.

Foldable devices have significantly more complicated internal structures. The hinge, dual displays, multiple cameras and other components compete for limited internal space, while thermal management becomes more challenging.

The power requirements also differ depending on whether the device is folded or fully opened. An unfolded large display can consume considerably more power during gaming, video playback and multitasking.

As a result, if the MIX Fold 5 does eventually launch with XRing O3, the device could serve as an important showcase for the integration of Xiaomi’s chipset, operating system, display and thermal-management technologies.

6,000mAh Battery and 200MP Camera

The rumored hardware upgrades reportedly extend beyond the processor.

The MIX Fold 5 is expected to feature a battery of around 6,000mAh, representing a substantial increase over the 5,100mAh battery used by the MIX Fold 4.

That would represent an increase of roughly 18%. For a large foldable, the additional capacity could be particularly useful because the internal display provides a larger canvas for multitasking, gaming and productivity but also places greater demands on the battery.

The device is also rumored to retain wireless charging, which would help maintain its positioning as a premium flagship.

Photography could receive a major upgrade as well. Reports suggest that the MIX Fold 5 may feature a 200MP main camera.

Historically, foldable phones have sometimes sacrificed camera hardware in order to manage thickness, weight and internal space. A higher-resolution sensor on the MIX Fold 5 would indicate that Xiaomi is attempting to position the device as a more complete flagship rather than treating the camera system as a secondary feature.

New Hinge and Improved Durability

The hinge will be another crucial component of the MIX Fold 5.

Current reports point to a new-generation self-developed hinge, together with a higher level of water resistance.

For foldable smartphones, hinge engineering can have a greater impact on long-term usability than small differences in benchmark performance. The hinge affects the device’s thickness, folding mechanism, durability and resistance to everyday wear.

A more advanced hinge could allow Xiaomi to improve structural reliability while potentially creating additional internal space for the battery and other components.

Possible New Design

The latest information about the exterior design remains limited, but some reports suggest that Xiaomi may adopt a more horizontally oriented screen ratio.

The rear camera module could also reportedly move toward a horizontal arrangement.

Such changes would make sense if Xiaomi is substantially redesigning the MIX Fold 5 rather than simply carrying forward the MIX Fold 4’s structural design.

After skipping a generation, Xiaomi has an opportunity to rethink the internal component arrangement, hinge structure and body proportions of its large foldable platform.

Potential Price Above RMB 10,000

Pricing is another area attracting attention.

Current market rumors suggest that the MIX Fold 5 could start at more than RMB 10,000, significantly above the MIX Fold 4’s original starting price of RMB 8,999.

A higher price could potentially be justified if the new device combines XRing O3, a 6,000mAh-class battery, 200MP imaging, HyperOS 4, wireless charging and a redesigned folding mechanism.

However, Xiaomi would face a clear challenge: the MIX Fold 5 would need to offer enough visible improvements to justify the higher cost in an increasingly competitive foldable market.

A Major Test for Xiaomi’s Foldable Strategy

The MIX Fold 5 could be more important to Xiaomi than an ordinary annual flagship upgrade.

After the MIX Fold 4 launched in 2024, the company’s absence from the large-screen foldable segment created a significant gap in its product cycle. Returning with a device built around XRing O3, HyperOS 4, Android 17, a larger battery, upgraded imaging and a new hinge design would allow Xiaomi to demonstrate how its hardware and software ecosystem has evolved during that period.

More importantly, the MIX Fold 5 could become a showcase for Xiaomi’s broader self-developed technology strategy. Rather than focusing on a single specification, the company appears to be pursuing closer integration between its chipset, operating system, AI capabilities and hardware design.

At this stage, however, the MIX Fold 5 name, launch date, XRing O3 specifications and final hardware configuration have not been officially confirmed by Xiaomi. The reported specifications should therefore be treated as rumors until the company provides official information.

If the current leak cycle continues, the next major detail to watch will be the official specifications and performance of XRing O3. Its capabilities inside a large foldable chassis could ultimately determine whether the MIX Fold 5 becomes a meaningful comeback for Xiaomi in the premium foldable market.

The dates indicate the beginning of each rollout stage rather than necessarily the exact day on which every listed device will receive the update. Beta software is typically distributed progressively, so availability can vary by device, region, and enrollment status.

What Does the HyperOS 4 Beta Mean for Users?

HyperOS 4 is expected to be an important software update for Xiaomi’s ecosystem, bringing the company’s latest software experience to smartphones and tablets.

Because this is a Beta release, the primary purpose is to allow eligible users and testers to experience new features while Xiaomi collects feedback and identifies potential bugs before the wider stable rollout.

Users considering beta software should therefore expect the possibility of occasional bugs, application compatibility issues, performance inconsistencies, or other unfinished elements.

For devices used as primary work or communication tools, users may prefer to wait for the stable version unless they specifically want to participate in beta testing.

Xiaomi Continues Expanding Its Software Ecosystem

The staged rollout demonstrates Xiaomi’s increasingly broad software ecosystem. HyperOS is no longer limited to a small number of flagship smartphones; it now spans multiple device categories, including phones, tablets, and foldable devices.

The inclusion of both Xiaomi and REDMI products also highlights the company’s effort to provide a more consistent software platform across different product lines.

As the rollout progresses through August and September, additional information about HyperOS 4’s new features, performance improvements, AI capabilities, system optimizations, and device-specific changes is likely to emerge from beta testing.

What Happens Next?

With the first batch already entering the beta rollout phase, Xiaomi users can expect the program to expand over the next several weeks.

The second batch is scheduled to begin on August 27, followed by the third batch on September 17. Xiaomi is expected to continue refining HyperOS 4 throughout the beta period before eventually pushing the stable release to supported devices.

For international users, availability may also depend on the specific regional version of the device and Xiaomi’s local software rollout strategy. The schedule announced by Xiaomi should therefore be treated as the current beta roadmap rather than a universal global release timetable.

Final Thoughts

Xiaomi has officially kicked off the HyperOS 4 Beta rollout, with the first batch of smartphones and tablets already receiving the software on a gradual basis.

The rollout will proceed in three stages, beginning with the Xiaomi 17 and REDMI K90 families and Xiaomi Pad 8 series. The second batch is scheduled for August 27, adding Xiaomi 15-series devices and more REDMI models, while the third batch will begin on September 17, bringing HyperOS 4 Beta to additional K-series smartphones, the Xiaomi MIX Flip 2, and Xiaomi Pad 7 models.

With a broad device list and a clearly defined rollout schedule, Xiaomi is laying the groundwork for the next major version of its software ecosystem. Users who own an eligible device will have the opportunity to test HyperOS 4 ahead of its eventual stable release, while Xiaomi can use feedback from the beta program to refine the experience across its growing hardware lineup.

Igeekphone News: Xiaomi may have accidentally offered its first official glimpse of the long-rumored MIX Fold 5, with an unidentified large-screen foldable smartphone appearing prominently in promotional material for the latest HyperOS 4 Beta release.

The device was spotted in a promotional poster published by Xiaomi’s official HyperOS account on August 13. Although Xiaomi has not explicitly identified the smartphone as the MIX Fold 5, its design and positioning have fueled speculation that the company is preparing to introduce its next-generation large-screen foldable.

Mysterious Foldable Appears in HyperOS 4 Beta Material

On August 13, Xiaomi’s official HyperOS account published information highlighting new features included in the HyperOS 4 Beta.

A large-screen foldable smartphone appears prominently in the accompanying promotional artwork. The device features a distinctive large R-shaped design on the front, while its camera module appears to be positioned toward the upper-right area.

Xiaomi did not name the device in the promotional material. However, the appearance has attracted attention because the company is widely expected to be developing the MIX Fold 5, which would represent the next generation of its horizontally folding flagship smartphone lineup.

The promotional image could therefore provide an early indication of the design direction Xiaomi is taking with its upcoming foldable.

MIX Fold 5 Rumored to Feature a New Hinge Design

Previous reports have suggested that the Xiaomi MIX Fold 5 could receive several major hardware upgrades.

One of the most notable changes is reportedly a new self-developed seamless hinge. Hinge technology is particularly important for book-style foldables because it directly affects the device’s thickness, durability, folding experience and display crease.

The MIX Fold 5 is also rumored to use a horizontally oriented camera module, giving the rear of the phone a different appearance from the device shown in the HyperOS poster.

Other reported features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, suggesting that Xiaomi could continue to prioritize a thin and lightweight form factor while retaining a conventional capacitive fingerprint solution.

It remains unclear whether all of these rumored specifications will make it into the final production model.

Xiaomi’s Xuanji O3 Chip Could Power the Foldable

Performance is expected to be another major focus of the MIX Fold 5.

According to previous reports, Xiaomi could equip the phone with its self-developed Xuanji O3 chip. The platform is expected to compete with Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship mobile hardware, including the rumored Snapdragon 8E5 platform.

If the reports prove accurate, the MIX Fold 5 could become one of Xiaomi’s most powerful foldable smartphones, combining flagship-level processing with a large flexible display.

However, Xiaomi has yet to officially confirm the Xuanji O3’s specifications or its relationship with the MIX Fold 5.

A Successor to the MIX Fold 4

The potential MIX Fold 5 would succeed the Xiaomi MIX Fold 4, which was launched in July 2024.

The MIX Fold 4 started at 8,999 yuan in China and was positioned as Xiaomi’s premium large-screen foldable.

The previous-generation model featured a 7.98-inch internal display and a 6.56-inch external display, providing users with a tablet-like screen when unfolded while maintaining a conventional smartphone form factor when closed.

It was powered by Qualcomm’s third-generation Snapdragon 8 flagship platform and featured a Leica-branded quad-camera system using Summilux optics.

The MIX Fold 4 also included a 5,100mAh Xiaomi Jinjiang stereoscopic irregular-shaped battery, designed to maximize battery capacity within the phone’s slim foldable chassis.

Xiaomi Could Be Preparing a Major Foldable Upgrade

The foldable smartphone market has become increasingly competitive, with Samsung, Huawei, OPPO, vivo and other manufacturers continuing to develop thinner and more capable devices.

For Xiaomi, the MIX Fold series represents an important opportunity to compete in the premium foldable segment, particularly as manufacturers increasingly focus on reducing thickness while improving hinge durability, battery capacity and camera performance.

The reported combination of a new seamless hinge, flagship processing hardware and a redesigned camera system suggests that the MIX Fold 5 could represent a substantial evolution over its predecessor.

The possible appearance of the device in HyperOS 4 Beta promotional material also raises the possibility that Xiaomi is gradually preparing its software ecosystem for the new hardware.

What We Know So Far

At this stage, Xiaomi has not officially confirmed that the foldable shown in the HyperOS 4 Beta poster is the MIX Fold 5. The name, specifications, launch date and pricing remain unconfirmed.

Nevertheless, the appearance of a large-screen foldable in Xiaomi’s official software promotional material is notable. Combined with previous reports about the MIX Fold 5’s hinge, camera design and Xuanji O3 processor, it suggests that Xiaomi’s next-generation foldable may be moving closer to its official debut.

If Xiaomi maintains the premium positioning established by the MIX Fold 4, the MIX Fold 5 could emerge as a major competitor in the increasingly crowded global foldable smartphone market.

For now, the HyperOS 4 Beta poster provides one of the strongest visual clues yet that Xiaomi’s next large-screen foldable is taking shape, although more details will need to come directly from the company before its specifications and launch plans can be confirmed.

Apple is reportedly preparing to enter the smart glasses market with its first pair of AI-powered wearable glasses, targeting an unveiling at the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June 2027. According to the latest report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the product is expected to go on sale in the second half of 2027 and will emphasize privacy, security, and seamless integration with the Apple ecosystem.

Unlike Apple’s Vision Pro mixed-reality headset, the rumored smart glasses are expected to be lightweight, display-free wearables designed for everyday use, placing them in direct competition with products such as the Meta Ray-Ban Smart Glasses and similar offerings from Huawei and Xiaomi.

Privacy to Be a Key Selling Point

According to the report, Apple intends to make privacy and user trust central to the product’s identity.

The company is said to be developing several new hardware and software privacy features specifically for the smart glasses—capabilities that have not yet appeared in competing products. Apple is reportedly planning to highlight these protections in future marketing campaigns, differentiating its approach from existing smart glasses on the market.

Public concern over camera-equipped smart glasses has grown in recent years, particularly regarding the possibility of discreetly recording photos or videos in public spaces. Apple is reportedly exploring multiple solutions to address these concerns.

Camera Expected Despite Privacy Concerns

The report claims Apple has tested several prototype designs.

One version reportedly includes cameras dedicated solely to AI-assisted visual recognition, preventing users from capturing photos or videos. Another prototype removes the camera entirely.

However, after evaluating the available options, Apple is believed to have decided that the final consumer version will likely retain a camera, while incorporating the company’s signature privacy protections to reassure both users and those around them.

Although specific safeguards have not yet been disclosed, Apple has a long history of emphasizing on-device processing, transparency, and user control over personal data.

Lightweight Companion to the iPhone

Rather than functioning as a standalone computing device, Apple’s first smart glasses are expected to serve as a lightweight wearable companion within the Apple ecosystem.

Similar to the relationship between the Apple Watch and the iPhone, the glasses will reportedly rely on a connected iPhone to perform more demanding computing tasks. This approach allows the glasses to remain compact and lightweight while extending battery life.

No Display, Focused on Everyday Convenience

Unlike augmented reality headsets, the first-generation Apple smart glasses are not expected to feature a built-in display.

Instead, the hardware will reportedly include:

Camera

Microphone

Speakers

The feature set is expected to resemble that of current AI-enabled smart glasses, supporting functions such as:

Music playback

Voice calls

Siri voice interaction

Notification delivery

Hands-free messaging

AI-powered assistance

The glasses are also expected to benefit from the next generation of Siri, incorporating more advanced AI capabilities powered by Apple’s evolving large language models.

Custom Low-Power Chip

To maximize battery life, Apple is reportedly developing a dedicated low-power processor derived from the custom chips currently used in the Apple Watch.

The chip is expected to prioritize energy efficiency while handling tasks such as:

Camera management

Audio processing

Sensor coordination

Basic on-device AI functions

By offloading more computationally intensive workloads to the connected iPhone, Apple aims to avoid one of the biggest challenges facing wearable AI devices: limited battery life.

Competing in a Growing Market

The smart glasses segment has attracted increasing attention as major technology companies explore AI-powered wearable devices.

Current products primarily focus on voice interaction, photography, and AI assistance rather than full augmented reality experiences. Apple’s reported strategy appears to align with this trend by introducing a lightweight wearable that complements existing Apple devices instead of replacing them.

If successful, the product could strengthen Apple’s ecosystem while providing users with a more natural way to access AI-powered services throughout the day.

Rumored Apple Smart Glasses Highlights

Based on current reports, Apple’s first smart glasses may include:

Expected unveiling at WWDC 2027

Consumer launch planned for the second half of 2027

Lightweight, display-free design

Camera, microphone, and built-in speakers

Deep integration with the iPhone

Advanced Siri with next-generation AI capabilities

Custom low-power processor derived from Apple Watch silicon

Strong emphasis on privacy and security

Designed to compete with Meta’s and other leading smart glasses

Final Thoughts

Apple’s reported smart glasses project suggests the company is taking a measured approach to wearable AI, focusing on practicality rather than full augmented reality. By emphasizing privacy, seamless iPhone integration, and energy-efficient AI features, Apple appears to be positioning the device as an everyday companion rather than a standalone computing platform.

As with all pre-release reports, Apple has not officially confirmed the product or its specifications. More details are likely to emerge as the company moves closer to its anticipated 2027 launch window.

Improved system responsiveness

Better power efficiency

Enhanced multitasking

Deeper AI integration throughout the operating system

Broad AI Model Support

The certification information also references an extensive range of AI models that may be supported on the device, including:

Xiaomi Large Model

Xiaomi Leaps Vision Model

Xiaomi Leaps Perception Model

Xiaomi MiMo Model

Zhipu AI

ERNIE (Wenxin Yiyan)

Doubao

DeepSeek

Tongyi Qianwen

Hengyuan

The broad compatibility suggests Xiaomi is building a more open AI ecosystem capable of leveraging both proprietary and third-party large language models for different applications and user scenarios.

67W Charging Raises Questions

One specification that has surprised industry observers is the reported 67W wired fast charging support.

In recent years, Xiaomi’s premium flagship smartphones have commonly offered 90W, 100W, or even higher charging speeds. If the certification information proves accurate, the reduced charging wattage may reflect engineering trade-offs associated with the device’s foldable design, battery longevity, thermal management, or internal space constraints.

Outlook

Although Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the device, multiple leaks point to an ambitious flagship designed to showcase the company’s expanding technological independence. By combining an in-house Xuanjie processor, HyperOS 4, and Xiaomi’s growing portfolio of AI models, the upcoming smartphone could become the clearest demonstration yet of Xiaomi’s vertically integrated ecosystem.

More details—including the official product name, pricing, complete specifications, and launch date—are expected to be revealed when Xiaomi announces the device in the coming weeks.

The information indicates that it supports 100W fast charging and is currently the mainstream flagship specification of Xiaomi.

According to blogger Smart Pikachu, this device is expected to be the long-awaited large-screen foldable phone from Xiaomi. It is expected to be released as early as July.

Previously, it was revealed that this device will be named MIX Fold 5. It is a product that Xiaomi has put a lot of effort into. It features the debut of Xianji O3 + Hyper OS 4， and it is also the product announced by Lei Jun at the conference earlier this year， which was about self-developed chips + self-developed OS + self-developed large models.

It is reported that Xuanji O3 is manufactured using TSMC’s 3nm process. The engineering version features a design with an ultra-large core, a performance core, and small cores. The ultra-large core operates at 4.05 GHz, the performance core at 3.42 GHz, and the small core at 3.02 GHz. The GPU also operates at 1.49 GHz, with a bandwidth of 9600 MT/s.

In terms of software experience, Hyper OS has made a major overhaul by thoroughly removing the redundant legacy code that had accumulated over the years within the system, and has carried out a complete reconfiguration of the system’s underlying structure.

The Xiaomi team is currently working on re-structuring the core system modules using the Rust language. Once implemented, this will significantly enhance the application’s cold start speed and system stability, reduce power consumption and the probability of application crashes, and also provide more comprehensive security protection capabilities. Ultimately, it will create a purer, more lightweight, and fully interconnected operating system for all scenarios.

The appearance design incorporates a liquid glass element. The system offers two display styles for the overall display – transparent and soft.

The AI intelligent agent achieves full-chain integration, directly embedding AI capabilities into the underlying operation logic of the system, seamlessly integrating into every aspect of daily operations. Users can perform cross-application operations at the bottom layer with just one sentence.

Igeekphone June 25th: Xiaomi has launched the new Mijia Smart Electric Pressure Cooker 2 Pro. The official price is 899 yuan. After applying the final payment discount and the appliance subsidy, the purchase price drops to only 721.65 yuan. It is suitable for families of four to eight people for daily use.
The most remarkable feature of this new product is the significant improvement in cooking efficiency. It is equipped with a 2200W IH high-power heating system and 112kPa high pressure. The temperature inside the pot can reach 120 degrees, and it can be cooked until tender and boneless in just 15 minutes. Compared to the old-fashioned pressure cookers, the cooking time is directly shortened by 40%.

The inner pot adopts a double-chamber design with separate compartments, eliminating the need for mixed use and cross-contamination. One chamber is made of 304 stainless steel, specifically designed for cooking meat and making soups; the other is a zero-fluorine ceramic non-stick inner pot, which is more suitable for cooking rice and porridge. The coating complies with food contact standards, providing greater peace of mind when cooking.

The total capacity of the machine is 5 liters. It can simmer 5 kilograms of beef at a time, or cook 20 bowls of rice. It is sufficient for large gatherings.

The pressure relief speed is also a significant advantage. The dual pressure relief and air-cooling rapid exhaust structure enables the lid to be opened 88 seconds after cooking is completed, eliminating the need for long waiting for the pressure to be released. It has 6 pressure curves built-in, which can automatically match the cooking temperature according to the ingredients, resulting in fresher and more tender cooked food.

The body is equipped with ten types of cooking programs, covering cooking rice, grains, braising beef and mutton, and dry baking. It also supports open-pot cooking, allowing for adding ingredients, reducing the sauce, and serving as a hot pot.

By integrating with the Mi Home ecosystem, remote control via the mobile app and voice control with Xiaoi are all possible. It comes with over a hundred cloud-based recipes and allows for 24-hour meal reservations.

It is equipped with eighteen layers of protection. In case of overpressure, high temperature or no pot, automatic protection will be activated. The sealing ring and inner cover plate can be disassembled for cleaning. The whole machine comes with a three-year warranty.
