Honor has confirmed that Magic9 series will officially launch on September 28, bringing a new generation of flagship smartphones with a strong focus on mobile photography and video recording.

Honor is positioning the Magic9 as a premium flagship smartphone lineup, with camera technology becoming one of its main selling points.

The lineup is expected to include three models: the Honor Magic9, Honor Magic9 Ultra Edition, and Honor Magic9 Pro Max. Ahead of the launch, Honor has also announced Xiaozhuan as the global spokesperson for its flagship smartphone lineup and released promotional images showing the upcoming Magic9 series.

Beyond the new branding and camera hardware, Honor is positioning the Magic9 family around professional-style imaging technologies, including ARRI-inspired design elements, wide-gamut color processing and advanced video formats.

Honor Magic9 Brings a Film Camera-Inspired Design

One of the most distinctive changes on the Magic9 series is expected to be its rear camera design.

If these specifications are confirmed, the Magic9 Pro Max could become one of Honor’s most ambitious 200MP camera phones yet.

Honor has reportedly taken inspiration from the ARRIFLEX line of film cameras, incorporating a circular multi-camera structure that resembles a traditional three-lens turret. The three camera rings are arranged in a triangular 1+2 configuration, giving the rear panel a more recognizable professional-camera aesthetic.

Rather than simply making the camera island larger, Honor appears to be using the design to connect the phone’s appearance with its photography-focused positioning.

Magic9 Pro Max Could Feature Two 200MP Telephoto Cameras

Photography is expected to be one of the major highlights of the Honor Magic9 Pro Max.

According to the information released ahead of launch, the flagship could feature a 200-megapixel ARRI telephoto main camera paired with a large 1/1.28-inch image sensor. A second 200-megapixel telephoto camera is also reportedly included, with a 1/1.4-inch sensor.

Honor is also expected to improve optical stabilization and image detail. If these specifications are confirmed, the combination of two high-resolution telephoto cameras could give the Magic9 Pro Max greater flexibility for long-range photography.

However, the final camera specifications and sensor configurations should be confirmed at the September 28 launch event.

ARRI Color Science Targets More Professional Imaging

The Honor Magic9 series is also being positioned around ARRI color science, extending beyond camera hardware alone.

The reported imaging system supports an AWG3 wide-color-gamut workflow, ARRI’s official Look format, APV lossless encoding and an ARRI LogC3 video pipeline.

These features show that Honor is placing greater emphasis on professional smartphone photography, rather than focusing only on megapixel counts.

These technologies are particularly relevant to users who want greater control over color and video footage during post-production. Log-based recording, for example, can provide a wider range for professional color grading compared with heavily processed footage designed primarily for immediate sharing.

Honor’s approach suggests that the Magic9 series is aiming to appeal not only to casual smartphone photographers but also to creators who want more control over their footage.

New “Dynamic Eye” Front Camera Design

The front camera system is another area where Honor is introducing a different approach.

The Honor Magic9 and Magic9 Pro Max are expected to use a front-facing “Dynamic Eye” camera system. Honor describes it as the first square-shaped front-camera solution of its kind on Android, with a dedicated 1:1 preview area.

The front camera is reportedly equipped with 55-megapixel resolution and a 92-degree ultra-wide field of view.

The square preview is designed to make shooting more flexible. Users can hold the phone vertically or horizontally while maintaining a wider shooting perspective, giving them more freedom to crop the final image into different aspect ratios later.

This could be particularly useful for creators who publish the same content across platforms with different vertical and horizontal formats.

Honor Magic9 Series Launch Date

Honor has confirmed that the Magic9 series will debut on September 28. The launch should provide more details about the three models, including their final camera specifications, performance hardware, pricing and availability.

The Magic9 series is shaping up to be an imaging-focused flagship family, with its combination of high-resolution telephoto cameras, ARRI-related color technology and a distinctive camera-inspired design.

For now, some of the hardware and imaging specifications remain pre-launch information. The official September 28 presentation will be the key opportunity to verify which features make it into the final commercial devices.

Apple’s first foldable iPhone Duo has made display-crease visibility one of the most closely watched details of its design. Samsung, meanwhile, has had several generations to refine the folding screen on its Galaxy Z Fold series. A new side-by-side comparison gives an early look at how the iPhone Duo and Galaxy Z Fold8 handle one of the biggest visual challenges of foldable phones.

The comparison is particularly interesting because neither company is simply trying to make the physical fold disappear. Instead, Apple and Samsung are using different combinations of display materials, structural support and reflection control to make the crease less distracting during everyday use.

iPhone Duo and Galaxy Z Fold8 Look Similar Head-On

A short comparison video from technology journalist Joanna Stern provides a useful visual test of the two foldables.

When both displays are viewed directly from the front, the center fold on the iPhone Duo is difficult to distinguish. The Galaxy Z Fold8 also looks relatively smooth from a straight-on viewing angle.

The difference becomes easier to notice when the phones are tilted toward a light source. Reflections running across the center of the flexible panels can reveal the fold more clearly, showing that crease visibility depends heavily on lighting and viewing angle.

This is an important distinction. A phone can have a physically noticeable folding area while still appearing almost flat during normal viewing. Conversely, a strong reflection can make a relatively subtle crease appear much more obvious in a photograph or video.

Why the iPhone Duo’s Crease Can Be Difficult to See

Apple has placed considerable emphasis on the appearance of the iPhone Duo’s inner display.

The 7.6-inch folding screen uses a nano-texture treatment designed to reduce glare and control reflections. That matters because reflected light is one of the main reasons a fold becomes easier to see.

When the display is viewed under bright indoor lighting or near a window, the surface can reflect surrounding objects and light sources. A surface treatment that reduces those reflections can therefore make the central fold appear less prominent.

However, it is important not to confuse reduced crease visibility with a completely crease-free display.

The iPhone Duo still uses a flexible panel that repeatedly bends around a hinge. The nano-texture surface can influence how the fold looks to the eye, but it does not remove the underlying mechanical challenge of repeatedly folding a large OLED panel.

Galaxy Z Fold8 Uses Both Structure and Reflection Control

Samsung approaches the problem somewhat differently with the Galaxy Z Fold8. Foldable display technology continues to evolve rapidly, with manufacturers experimenting with new hinge designs, screen materials, and display structures to make foldable phones thinner, more durable, and less noticeable when unfolded.

The Fold8 uses a reinforced internal structure that includes titanium components around the folding display. This construction is intended to provide support to the flexible panel while maintaining the thin profile expected from a modern foldable phone.

Samsung also uses an anti-reflective treatment on the main display.

That combination is significant because the crease has two different aspects: the physical deformation of the flexible panel and the way light reflects from that deformation.

The structural layer addresses the first problem, while the anti-reflective surface helps with the second.

As a result, Samsung’s strategy is not simply about hiding the crease. It is about controlling both the physical support of the folding panel and how visible that fold becomes under different lighting conditions.

iPhone Duo vs Galaxy Z Fold8: Crease Comparison

The table highlights why a simple “which phone has no crease?” comparison can be misleading.

Neither device should be judged solely from one photograph. Lighting, viewing angle, screen brightness and the content displayed on the panel can all change how prominent the fold appears.

Is the iPhone Duo Actually Creaseless?

The answer is more complicated than the marketing impression may suggest.

From a normal straight-on viewing position, the iPhone Duo’s center fold can be extremely difficult to notice. That gives Apple a strong advantage in perceived display smoothness.

But the crease can become more apparent when light hits the screen at an angle.

This is also true of the Galaxy Z Fold8. A reflection traveling across the fold can make the center of the screen easier to identify even when the display looks nearly flat from directly in front.

Therefore, it is more accurate to describe the iPhone Duo as having a less visually obvious crease rather than claiming that Apple has completely eliminated the physical fold.

That distinction will become even more important after long-term use, when repeated folding cycles provide a better indication of how each display ages.

The Real Difference May Appear in Everyday Lighting

For most users, the more useful question is not whether either phone has a mathematically perfect flat screen.

Instead, the question is:

How often will you actually notice the crease while using the phone?

This depends heavily on the environment.

Under soft indoor lighting, both displays can look remarkably clean. Outdoors or near strong light sources, reflections can expose the folding area more clearly.

The iPhone Duo’s nano-texture approach could give it an advantage in situations where glare is the main reason the crease becomes noticeable. Samsung’s anti-reflective technology serves a similar purpose, while its reinforced internal structure focuses on supporting the folding panel itself.

This means the two companies are solving related problems from slightly different directions.

What the Early Comparison Does Not Tell Us

A short video can demonstrate visual crease visibility, but it cannot establish long-term durability.

It does not show how either display will look after thousands of folding cycles, how the hinge will age, or whether the appearance of the crease changes after months of daily use.

That is particularly important for the iPhone Duo because it represents Apple’s first generation of foldable iPhone hardware.

Samsung has considerably more experience with foldable phones, giving the Galaxy Z Fold8 the benefit of multiple generations of hinge and display development.

A proper long-term comparison will therefore need to examine more than the appearance of the crease on a brand-new device.

iPhone Duo vs Galaxy Z Fold8: Early Verdict

The early comparison suggests that both Apple and Samsung have made substantial progress in reducing the visual impact of the fold.

The iPhone Duo appears particularly impressive when viewed straight on, where its central crease can be difficult to distinguish. Its nano-texture display also gives Apple another way to control reflections that can draw attention to the fold.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 takes a more established approach by combining structural reinforcement with an anti-reflective display surface. Its crease can still become visible at certain angles, but Samsung’s design shows how far the company’s foldable technology has evolved.

For now, the most accurate conclusion is not that one phone has completely eliminated the crease. Instead, both devices are becoming better at making the crease less noticeable during normal use.

The iPhone Duo may have the visual advantage in some lighting conditions, but a longer hands-on test will be needed to determine whether that advantage remains after extended daily folding.

For buyers choosing between Apple’s first foldable iPhone and Samsung’s latest Galaxy Z Fold, the crease is therefore only one part of the decision. Display quality, hinge durability, software, camera performance, battery life and overall device thickness will ultimately matter just as much.

The Geekbench listing is particularly interesting because it points to Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship platform, along with a large amount of RAM and Android 17. If the leaked information is accurate, Xiaomi appears to be preparing the Pro Max as a performance-focused model rather than simply a larger version of the standard flagship.

Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Geekbench Results

According to the benchmark listing, the Xiaomi device is equipped with Qualcomm’s sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Super platform.

The reported CPU configuration includes:

Two high-performance cores clocked at up to 5.11GHz

Three performance cores running at 4.03GHz

Three additional cores at 2.74GHz

12GB of RAM

Android 17

In Geekbench 7, the device reportedly achieved a single-core score of 3,582 and a multi-core score of 12,247.

Those numbers suggest that Xiaomi is targeting a very high level of Snapdragon flagship CPU performance for its next Pro Max flagship. However, benchmark results from an unreleased device should be treated as preliminary because final retail hardware and software optimization can still affect performance.

Adreno 850 GPU Also Appears in the Listing

The graphics side of the leak is equally notable. The smartphone is listed with Qualcomm’s Adreno 850 GPU.

Its reported Geekbench 7 graphics results include:

Vulkan: 29,934

OpenCL: 26,210

If these results translate into real-world performance, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max could offer a substantial graphics upgrade for demanding games and other GPU-intensive workloads.

The benchmark alone, however, does not tell us how the phone will perform during extended gaming sessions. Cooling design, power limits, display resolution and software tuning will all play an important role once the device reaches the market.

Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Could Be the Performance Leader of the Series

Previous leaks have suggested that Xiaomi could use different Snapdragon platforms across the Xiaomi 18 lineup.

The standard Xiaomi 18 is reportedly being pushed back to early 2027, while the Xiaomi 18 Pro is expected to use a sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 flagship chip. The rumored Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, meanwhile, could receive the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Super variant.

That positioning would give Xiaomi a clearer performance hierarchy within the series. Instead of relying mainly on screen size or camera differences, the Pro Max could distinguish itself through processing power, imaging hardware and battery capacity.

200MP Cameras Could Be Another Major Upgrade

Performance may not be the only focus of the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max.

Earlier reports claim that the phone could feature a 200MP LOFIC HDR main camera, accompanied by a 200MP smartphone camera and a 50MP ultrawide camera.

A dual-200MP camera setup would make the telephoto system especially interesting. Higher sensor resolution can provide additional flexibility for cropping and long-range photography, although actual image quality will depend on sensor size, lens design, stabilization and Xiaomi’s image-processing algorithms.

The reported LOFIC HDR technology could also help the main camera handle scenes containing both very bright and dark areas, although its real-world benefits will need to be confirmed through hands-on testing.

An 8,500mAh Battery Would Make It More Than a Performance Phone

The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is also rumored to pack an 8,500mAh battery.

That would be a notably large capacity for a flagship smartphone and could help compensate for the power demands of a high-performance processor, advanced cameras and a high-refresh-rate display.

Battery capacity alone does not determine endurance, though. Chip efficiency, display technology, software optimization and charging behavior will ultimately determine how long the phone can last between charges.

What the Geekbench Appearance Tells Us

The appearance of model M1544F on Geekbench does not officially confirm the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max’s final specifications. Xiaomi has yet to announce the device or verify the leaked hardware configuration.

Still, the combination of a next-generation Snapdragon platform, Adreno 850 graphics, 12GB of RAM and Android 17 makes the listing worth watching.

If the rumored 200MP main camera, 200MP telephoto, 50MP ultrawide camera and 8,500mAh battery also make it into the final product, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max could become one of Xiaomi’s most ambitious flagship smartphones.

For now, the Geekbench listing should be viewed as an early indication rather than a complete specification sheet. More details about the Xiaomi 18 series should emerge as the expected launch period approaches.

The Xiaomi 18 series has arrived with the new Xiaomi 18 Fold, a premium foldable smartphone designed to combine flagship performance with a larger, more practical screen. The device also introduces Xiaomi’s latest in-house mobile processor, the Xiaomi Xring O3, marking another major step in the company’s chip development strategy.

Built on a 3nm manufacturing process, the Xring O3 increases its transistor count from 19 billion in the previous generation to 24 billion. This increase is designed to deliver higher processing performance while improving power efficiency for demanding mobile workloads.

The Xiaomi 18 Fold package also includes a special Xring O3 card featuring Lei Jun’s signature. The inclusion highlights Xiaomi’s focus on developing its own core technologies and strengthening its position in the premium smartphone market.

Xiaomi Xring O3 and LPDDR6 Memory

The Xiaomi Xring O3 is positioned as Xiaomi’s most advanced self-developed mobile SoC so far. The company has focused heavily on AI processing, performance, and energy efficiency, making the chip an important part of the Xiaomi 18 Fold experience.

One of the most notable features is its support for LPDDR6 memory, the latest-generation mobile memory standard referenced for the device. The 1TB version of the Xiaomi 18 Fold is equipped with Changxin LPDDR6 memory, giving the phone additional memory bandwidth for multitasking, AI applications, gaming, and other demanding tasks.

The combination of the Xring O3 processor and LPDDR6 memory makes the Xiaomi 18 Fold particularly interesting for users who want flagship-level performance in a foldable form factor.

2:1 Foldable Display Design

Xiaomi has taken a different approach to the display design of the 18 Fold. Its inner screen uses a 2:1 aspect ratio, which creates a more balanced shape when the phone is opened or folded.

The design also allows the inner display to offer roughly twice the screen area of the outer display while maintaining a consistent aspect ratio. This can make multitasking more practical and gives the unfolded screen a layout that is closer to a compact tablet.

For split-screen use, the 2:1 format is especially useful. Two applications can be displayed side by side with a layout that closely resembles using two conventional smartphone screens next to each other. This can improve the presentation of documents, charts, apps, and other content.

The display approach also reflects the broader trend toward foldable phones that offer a more tablet-like experience without becoming excessively wide or difficult to handle.

Xiaomi 18 Fold Colors and Ceramic Edition

The Xiaomi 18 Fold is available in three standard finishes: Black, Warm Gold White, and Nishino Red.

Nishino Red is the most distinctive option of the three. Inspired by autumn landscapes, the color uses a warm reddish-brown tone to create a premium appearance while keeping the overall design relatively understated.

Xiaomi has also introduced a Ceramic Special Edition for users looking for a more exclusive finish. The design is inspired by traditional ceramic craftsmanship and uses a refined light-pink glaze appearance.

Producing this finish involves high-temperature processing, with silicon nitride reportedly sintered at temperatures of up to 1,840°C. Rare-earth erbium is then used during the coloring process to achieve the final visual effect.

The ceramic edition is designed to offer the smooth feel and durability associated with ceramic while reducing weight compared with some conventional zirconia-based ceramic solutions. Despite using a different rear material, the overall device weight is listed at 219 grams, matching the AG glass version.

Leica Triple Camera System

Photography is another major part of the Xiaomi 18 Fold. The phone features a Leica Summilux optical system with a triple-camera setup, designed to cover multiple focal lengths.

The three rear cameras are positioned horizontally in a clean arrangement. Xiaomi has also kept the camera module relatively compact, helping maintain a comfortable grip while giving the rear panel a distinctive flagship look.

The Leica branding and multi-focal-length camera system make the Xiaomi 18 Fold appealing to users who want a foldable smartphone without sacrificing camera versatility.

6000mAh Battery and Fast Charging

The Xiaomi 18 Fold packs a 6000mAh Silicon-carbon battery, giving the device a large power reserve for everyday use, multitasking, gaming, photography, and other demanding applications.

Charging support is equally impressive, with 67W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. This combination gives users flexible charging options while reducing the amount of time needed to recharge the large battery.

With its high-capacity battery and fast-charging support, the Xiaomi 18 Fold is designed to balance the power requirements of its large foldable display and flagship hardware.

Design and Build

The Xiaomi 18 Fold introduces a new foldable design for Xiaomi: the mid-fold form factor. It sits between a large book-style foldable and a compact flip phone, offering a different balance of portability and screen size.

When unfolded, the Xiaomi 18 Fold features a 7.58-inch inner display, which is roughly comparable to the size of an A6 sheet of paper. Its extremely narrow bezels on all four sides give the screen a larger and more immersive appearance.

Both the inner and outer displays use a Super Pixel arrangement, giving the Xiaomi 18 Fold full RGB sub-pixel layouts on both screens. This helps maintain sharp image quality while making the two displays more consistent with each other.

Another highlight is the brightness. Both screens are designed for strong outdoor visibility, with a peak brightness of up to 4,000 nits. This makes the Xiaomi 18 Fold easier to use in bright environments, whether you are indoors or outside.

The rear panel features a clean and minimalist look. Xiaomi places the Leica triple-camera system inside a rounded, racetrack-shaped camera module that gives the phone a distinctive appearance without making the design feel overly busy.

A closer look at the camera module reveals a subtle Leica inscription engraved around the upper section of the outer ring. The branding is understated and only becomes obvious when viewed up close.

When unfolded, the Xiaomi 18 Fold measures 163.8 x 117.9 mm. Its proportions make it practical to use horizontally as a compact tablet, while users with larger hands can also hold it vertically like an oversized candybar smartphone.

One of the biggest advantages of this design is its slim profile. The device is just 5.02 mm thick on one side and weighs approximately 219 grams. That makes it lighter than many conventional flagship smartphones and significantly more portable than most large foldable phones.

The speaker system is positioned at both ends of the same side, creating a more balanced stereo effect when the phone is used horizontally for gaming or video playback. The SIM card tray is located along the top edge, while the USB-C port sits in the center of the bottom edge.

The metal frame has a fine frosted texture that gives the phone a smooth and refined feel in the hand. Xiaomi also uses the same finish for the power and volume buttons, helping the entire frame maintain a consistent appearance.

Folded Size and One-Handed Use

When folded, the Xiaomi 18 Fold measures approximately 117.8 x 83.6 mm, giving it a compact and easy-to-handle shape.

Although the folded device looks short and relatively thick, its width is only slightly greater than that of a typical flagship smartphone. This allows it to sit comfortably in one hand.

Its shorter height also improves one-handed usability. Tasks such as typing, checking notifications, scrolling and swiping back can be performed without constantly repositioning the phone.

The folded Xiaomi 18 Fold is roughly comparable in size to an A7 sheet of paper, allowing it to fit easily into a suit pocket or some larger shirt pockets. Its compact footprint also makes it convenient to carry throughout the day.

Despite being a foldable device, it measures only 10.68 mm thick when closed. As a result, it avoids the bulky feel commonly associated with larger foldable smartphones.

Hinge Design

Xiaomi has equipped the 18 Fold with a new-generation keel hinge featuring a three-bar linkage mechanism. The hinge provides moderate resistance while opening and closing, and it can hold the display at various angles.

This design makes the phone more flexible for different use cases, including reading, watching videos and hands-free viewing.

Charger and In-the-Box Accessories

The Xiaomi 18 Fold comes with a 67W charger, providing a convenient charging solution straight out of the box.

Xiaomi also includes a protective phone case with the retail package. The case features an integrated magnetic ring, allowing the phone to work with a range of compatible magnetic accessories.

Overall, the Xiaomi 18 Fold focuses heavily on portability, slimness and one-handed usability. Its mid-fold design gives it a distinctive identity among foldable phones, while the lightweight construction and compact folded dimensions make it easier to carry than many larger foldable models.

Mid-Foldable Screen Experience

One of the most interesting aspects of the Xiaomi 18 Fold is its approach to screen proportions. The inner and outer displays use a 2:1 aspect ratio, creating a consistent layout across different screen sizes. Apps, icons, and widgets remain arranged in familiar positions whether the phone is folded, partially opened, or fully unfolded. This makes switching between display modes feel intuitive and avoids the layout changes that can sometimes make foldable phones confusing to use.

The unfolded screen is also surprisingly compact compared with a traditional tablet. Placed beside an A5 notebook, the Xiaomi 18 Fold occupies roughly half its footprint and is closer in size to an A6 sheet of paper. When folded, it becomes approximately A7-sized, giving it a compact form factor similar to a small notebook or even a passport.

That compact design does not make the outer display difficult to use. In folded mode, the phone is slightly wider than a conventional flagship smartphone, which provides enough space for comfortable one-handed operation. The 26-key keyboard layout also benefits from the added width, making typing feel less cramped.

A 1.414:1 Display Ratio for Everyday Content

The Xiaomi 18 Fold uses a √2:1 screen ratio, which works out to approximately 1.414:1. This is wider than the traditional 16:9 format commonly used for video content. As a result, watching 16:9 videos may leave small black bars around the image, although they do not significantly affect the overall viewing experience.

The extra screen area becomes more useful with other types of content. For example, many vertical short videos use a 3:4 format, allowing them to fill more of the display. According to the supplied specifications, this helps the Xiaomi 18 Fold achieve a screen-to-body ratio of up to 95.2%.

Photography is another area where the unusual aspect ratio can be useful. When viewing 3:2 photos, as much as 93.3% of the screen can be used for displaying the image. This makes the large inner display particularly useful for reviewing photos without wasting too much space.

The √2:1 ratio is also closely aligned with standard international paper sizes. That makes the Xiaomi 18 Fold especially practical for reading documents, working with PDFs, and handling office files. A standard A4 document can be displayed at the same proportional ratio, reducing the need for excessive cropping or scaling.

For users who frequently read documents or work while traveling, this design gives the Xiaomi 18 Fold an advantage over foldable phones that prioritize video playback alone. Although 16:9 movies and long-form videos may not take up the entire display, the wider range of supported content makes the screen more versatile for everyday productivity.

Tablet-Style Productivity on a Foldable Phone

Xiaomi has also optimized the inner display for applications designed for larger screens. Several productivity apps can take advantage of the expanded layout, providing an experience that is closer to using a tablet than a conventional smartphone.

The Xiaomi 18 Fold comes with five PC-level applications. These include WPS For Pad and CapCut Pro, along with Wind Financial Terminal PC, ZWCAD, and CNKI CAJ. The inclusion of professional software makes the foldable more useful for users who need access to documents, design tools, financial platforms, or research materials while away from a desktop computer.

Some of these professional applications are better suited to a larger input method. Connecting an external keyboard can make longer documents, spreadsheets, and other desktop-style tasks considerably easier, just as it does on a conventional tablet.

A Better Fit for Multitasking

The larger inner display gives the Xiaomi 18 Fold more room for multitasking. Applications designed for tablets can take advantage of the additional width, while split-screen functionality allows users to work with multiple types of content at the same time.

For example, Xiaohongshu can use a three-column layout similar to a tablet interface, making browsing more engaging on the larger panel. Split-screen mode can also place images on one side and comments on the other, allowing users to view more information without constantly switching between pages.

Overall, the Xiaomi 18 Fold’s screen is not simply a larger smartphone display. Its compact folded size, practical aspect ratio, high screen utilization, document-friendly proportions, and tablet-style software support make it a versatile option for both entertainment and productivity.

The display may not be perfectly optimized for traditional 16:9 video, but its broader usability makes up for that limitation. For reading documents, browsing social media, reviewing photographs, multitasking, and handling professional applications, the Xiaomi 18 Fold’s mid-size foldable design offers a compelling balance between portability and screen space.

Performance and Gaming

The Xiaomi 18 Fold stands out as one of Xiaomi’s most advanced flagship foldable phones, particularly because of its new Xring O3 flagship SoC and Changxin LPDDR6 memory. Together, these components are designed to deliver higher performance, better energy efficiency, and improved memory bandwidth.

The Xring O3 is Xiaomi’s second high-end flagship chipset developed in-house. It continues to use a 3nm manufacturing process, while the transistor count has increased from 19 billion in the previous generation to 24 billion.

The chipset features a 10-core all-big-core CPU and a 16-core GPU. Xiaomi has also redesigned the underlying architecture to reduce CPU memory access latency.
Xiaomi claims that the Xring O3 can achieve an AnTuTu benchmark score of 5.22 million points, making it the company’s first flagship chipset to cross the five-million mark under its stated testing conditions.

The CPU architecture is divided into three performance groups. The two Ultra cores handle demanding bursts such as app launches, scene switching, and intensive gaming workloads. Four Premium cores provide additional performance for multitasking and demanding applications while maintaining better power efficiency. The remaining four Pro cores focus on everyday tasks with lower power consumption.

According to Xiaomi, this architecture delivers a 60.1% performance improvement over the previous generation while reducing power consumption by approximately 25%.

The GPU uses Xiaomi’s latest G2-Ultra NX architecture, which reportedly provides a 21% improvement in graphics performance compared with the previous Xring O1 generation. Ray-tracing performance has also been doubled, while the 16-core GPU configuration is designed to handle demanding graphics workloads more efficiently.

In our own testing, the Xiaomi 18 Fold achieved approximately 5.17 million points in AnTuTu at room temperature. Although this result is slightly below Xiaomi’s official figure, it remains extremely high for a smartphone and demonstrates the performance potential of the Xring O3.

LPDDR6 Memory and Memory Bandwidth

One of the Xiaomi 18 Fold’s most notable hardware upgrades is its use of LPDDR6 memory. The phone is designed around Xiaomi’s Xring O3 platform and Changxin LPDDR6 memory, giving it a significant increase in memory bandwidth compared with previous-generation LPDDR5X solutions.

The LPDDR6 memory operates at up to 10,667 Mbps, while the memory bus width increases from 16-bit on LPDDR5X to 24-bit. According to the stated specifications, total memory bandwidth can reach 113.8 GB/s.

Xiaomi has also focused on reducing memory access latency. The platform uses architectural changes, optimized routing, and memory resource management to reduce congestion when multiple system components access memory simultaneously.

The reported static memory latency is as low as 82ns, while dynamic latency can reach 177ns. For comparison, Xiaomi lists the Apple A19 Pro at 92ns static latency and 211ns dynamic latency under its cited testing conditions.

To evaluate the memory upgrade, we compared the Xiaomi 18 Fold with LPDDR6 against the Xiaomi 17 Ultra with LPDDR5X.

The Xiaomi 18 Fold achieved a memory bandwidth score of 152,262 points in AnTuTu, compared with 110,610 points for the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. That represents an improvement of approximately 37.6%.

Memory latency also improved by around 10% in the comparison. For everyday users, the benefit is most noticeable when switching between multiple applications, loading large files, or running demanding apps simultaneously.

Gaming, however, provides a better way to evaluate the combination of the Xring O3 chipset and LPDDR6 memory. We therefore tested the Xiaomi 18 Fold with several popular mobile games.

The Xiaomi 18 Fold is not marketed as a dedicated gaming smartphone, so it does not include some specialized gaming functions such as frame interpolation. For testing, we selected the highest available graphics settings in Honor of Kings.

The phone was switched to performance mode through the gaming tools to maximize the available processing power.

The large inner display is particularly useful for gaming. Its wider viewing area provides more screen space, allowing players to see more of the battlefield and identify opponents more easily.

During a complete 5v5 match, the Xiaomi 18 Fold maintained a consistently high frame rate with very few fluctuations. Gameplay remained smooth throughout the test, even during intense combat situations.

Average power consumption was approximately 2.38W, while power consumption per frame was measured at around 39.7mW.

Peacekeeper Elite

For Peacekeeper Elite, we again selected the highest graphics settings available. The game allowed the Xiaomi 18 Fold to run at a 90 FPS refresh rate.

The result was impressive. Gameplay remained smooth and stable at 90 FPS, with the large inner display providing a wider field of view.

The expanded screen area is particularly useful in shooting games because interface controls occupy less of the visible play area. This allows players to maintain a clearer view of their surroundings while moving and aiming.

During a gaming session lasting nearly 20 minutes, the Xring O3 maintained an average frame rate of 89.91 FPS, with almost no noticeable drops.

Average power consumption was approximately 3.39W, while power consumption per frame was around 37.83mW.

Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact is considerably more demanding than the other titles tested, making it a useful benchmark for sustained performance.

We set the graphics quality to the highest level and selected a 60 FPS frame-rate target. Performance mode was enabled through Xiaomi’s gaming tools, and we performed a map-running test in the Sumeru City area.

During the 10-minute test, the Xiaomi 18 Fold achieved an average frame rate of 60.05 FPS. There were some minor fluctuations, but overall gameplay remained smooth and responsive.

Average power consumption reached approximately 3.90W, with power consumption per frame measured at around 65.04mW.

These results show that the Xring O3 can handle demanding 3D games at high graphics settings while maintaining a stable frame rate.

Xiaomi 18 Fold Thermal Performance

We also used a thermal imaging camera to evaluate the Xiaomi 18 Fold during continuous gaming and performance testing.

With an ambient room temperature of 26°C, the highest measured temperature on the front of the phone was approximately 39°C, while the rear reached around 37°C.

Despite sustained workloads, the phone remained relatively comfortable to hold, with only a mild increase in surface temperature.

The results suggest that Xiaomi has paid close attention to cooling and thermal management on the 18 Fold. The device combines high-end processing power with relatively controlled temperatures, which is important for maintaining stable performance during longer gaming sessions.

Camera Review and Sample Photos

The Xiaomi 18 Fold may focus heavily on performance, memory, and power efficiency, but its camera system is also worth a closer look. The phone features a Leica Summilux optical system and a triple-camera setup designed to cover ultra-wide, standard, and telephoto focal lengths.

While the Xiaomi 18 Fold is not marketed primarily as a camera flagship, its imaging hardware remains highly competitive among foldable smartphones with a similar design.

The rear camera module uses a distinctive racetrack-shaped DECO. From left to right, it houses the ultra-wide-angle camera, main camera, telephoto lens, and flash. The straight-line layout keeps the module visually clean while maintaining a comfortable grip despite the phone’s compact foldable body.

The Leica branding is subtly engraved around the outer edge of the camera ring, giving the module a premium and understated appearance.

The main camera is built around a 200MP Samsung HP5 sensor with a 1/1.56-inch sensor size and a bright f/1.7 aperture. It uses a 1G+6P lens configuration, offers a 23mm equivalent focal length, and supports a minimum focusing distance of just 10cm.

This combination is designed to capture detailed images while also providing flexibility for close-up photography.

Telephoto Camera

The Xiaomi 18 Fold’s telephoto camera uses a 50MP JN5 sensor with an 80mm equivalent focal length and an f/2.8 aperture.

The longer focal length makes the telephoto lens useful for portraits and distant subjects while offering a different perspective from the primary camera.

Ultra-Wide Camera

For wider compositions, the phone uses a 50MP OV50M sensor. Its 17mm equivalent focal length and 107-degree field of view allow users to fit more scenery, buildings, and groups of people into a single frame.

We also captured a series of sample images with the Xiaomi 18 Fold to give readers a better idea of its real-world imaging performance.

Network Connectivity

The Xiaomi 18 Fold uses a new-generation foldable antenna system designed to maintain a stable connection whether the phone is folded or unfolded. Its advanced antenna architecture works with a dedicated signal enhancement chip and intelligent algorithms to optimize connectivity according to the user’s grip and the phone’s position.

This design is particularly useful in challenging environments such as high-speed trains, crowded venues, and concerts, where network congestion and interference can affect signal quality. The Xiaomi 18 Fold delivers strong connectivity in both folded and unfolded modes.

The phone also supports UWB (Ultra-Wideband) technology, enabling it to work with compatible digital car keys across the Xiaomi ecosystem, including Xiaomi Auto and Xiaomi Smart Lock. Support also extends to selected vehicles and smart devices from brands such as BMW MINI, FAW Audi, Lexus, and XPeng.

Wi-Fi Speed Test

To evaluate wireless performance, we compared the Xiaomi 18 Fold with the Xiaomi 17 Ultra on the same Wi-Fi network in an office environment.

The Xiaomi 18 Fold supports Wi-Fi 7, although the router used during testing supported only Wi-Fi 6. Therefore, these results reflect the performance of the specific office network rather than the phone’s maximum Wi-Fi 7 capability.

During the test, the phone was positioned approximately 5 meters from the router, with several workstations between the devices. The Xiaomi 18 Fold recorded download speeds of 785Mbps and upload speeds of 358Mbps. Both figures were higher than those measured on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra under the same conditions.

We then moved both phones into a hallway and tested them near the point where the Wi-Fi connection would become unstable. Even in this weaker-signal area, the Xiaomi 18 Fold maintained higher speeds than the Xiaomi 17 Ultra.

These results suggest that the Xiaomi 18 Fold’s larger chassis and antenna layout can contribute to strong wireless performance, particularly when the signal becomes weaker.

5G Signal Strength Comparison

We also tested 5G performance by using the same SIM card in the Xiaomi 18 Fold and Xiaomi 17 Ultra and measuring signal strength from the same location.

In the office, the Xiaomi 18 Fold recorded -104dBm, compared with -99dBm on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. Although the Xiaomi 17 Ultra showed a slightly stronger signal in this location, the difference did not have a noticeable impact on call quality.

In an open outdoor area, the results were much closer. The Xiaomi 18 Fold recorded -72dBm, while the Xiaomi 17 Ultra measured -71dBm. Both devices delivered strong and comparable 5G reception.

The underground parking garage presented a more difficult environment because of additional interference and moving vehicles. Here, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra measured -93dBm, while the Xiaomi 18 Fold recorded -92dBm. The results were still very close, with neither phone showing a significant practical disadvantage.

We also planned to test 5G reception inside an elevator. However, signal amplifiers had already been installed in the building, resulting in unusually strong reception. Both phones therefore showed signal levels similar to those recorded outdoors.

Testing with a China Mobile SIM card produced results consistent with the China Unicom tests, indicating that the Xiaomi 18 Fold maintained stable cellular connectivity on both networks during our testing.

Satellite Navigation Test

Finally, we tested the satellite positioning performance of both phones outdoors.

The Xiaomi 18 Fold and Xiaomi 17 Ultra were each able to connect to 16 BeiDou satellites visible above the horizon. This demonstrates that both devices can maintain a strong satellite positioning connection in an open outdoor environment.

Overall, the Xiaomi 18 Fold delivers reliable connectivity across Wi-Fi, 5G, and satellite navigation. While its signal performance is not always better than the Xiaomi 17 Ultra in every test environment, the phone consistently performs well in everyday and challenging conditions.

Charging and Battery Life

The Xiaomi 18 Fold packs a 6000mAh Jinshajiang battery designed to provide extended battery life despite the phone’s large foldable display. It uses a stacked battery structure with a 20% high-capacity silicon-carbon anode and a 4.55V high-voltage cathode, achieving an energy density of up to 920Wh/L.

Both battery sections use a stacked design instead of the conventional winding process, allowing Xiaomi to fit more capacity into the phone’s slim body. The battery on the motherboard side also features a 3D stepped design, which makes better use of internal space that would normally be occupied by ribbon cables.

For charging, the Xiaomi 18 Fold supports 67W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. This combination allows users to quickly recharge the device and spend less time connected to a charger.

Xiaomi 18 Fold Battery Life Test

The complete battery endurance test could not be finished, potentially because the current test software had limited support for the new Xiaomi 18 Fold O3 platform. However, the available results still provide a useful indication of its battery performance.

With the inner display fully unfolded, the Xiaomi 18 Fold used approximately 32% of its battery over 6 hours and 18 minutes during testing. Based on this result, a full discharge would take around 19 hours and 30 minutes under similar conditions.

For normal everyday use, this level of endurance should be sufficient for most users and could potentially support up to two days between charges, depending on usage patterns.

Video Playback Battery Test

A separate video playback test was also conducted using the phone’s large inner display. The brightness was set to around two-thirds while playing Bilibili videos.

During the test, the battery level fell from 96% to 91% between 11:04 and 12:11, representing approximately 5% battery consumption per hour.

Based on that result, the Xiaomi 18 Fold could theoretically deliver around 20 hours of continuous video playback on its large internal screen. Combined with the high-capacity Jinshajiang battery and the device’s power efficiency, the phone appears well suited to extended multimedia use.

Xiaomi 18 Fold 67W Charging Test

We also tested the Xiaomi 18 Fold using its original 67W wired charger. The phone started at 16% battery and reached:

29% in 5 minutes

47% in 15 minutes

72% in 30 minutes

97% in 45 minutes

The results show that the Xiaomi 18 Fold can recover a large portion of its battery capacity in a relatively short period, making the 67W charging system practical for users who need a quick top-up during the day.

Conclusion

The Xiaomi 18 Fold represents a major step forward for Xiaomi’s foldable phone lineup. Its new foldable form factor, Xring O3 flagship SoC, and Changxin LPDDR6 memory highlight Xiaomi’s growing ability to develop key smartphone technologies in-house.

The Xring O3 delivers impressive performance without sacrificing energy efficiency. Xiaomi previously revealed that the processor surpassed 5 million points on AnTuTu, raising expectations for flagship-level performance. In real-world testing, however, the O3 proved that high benchmark scores are not its only strength. It also maintains good thermal control and efficient power consumption during demanding tasks.

Gaming performance is another strong point. Although the Xiaomi 18 Fold is not specifically marketed as a gaming phone, it handled several popular titles at their highest graphics settings with impressive stability. Extended gaming sessions can normally cause overheating, frame drops, or performance throttling on powerful smartphones, but the Xiaomi 18 Fold remained smooth during testing.

The Xring O3’s efficiency was particularly noticeable under sustained workloads. During extended gameplay, the phone showed no obvious signs of thermal throttling, while thermal imaging recorded a surface temperature below 40°C. In practical use, the device only became slightly warm to the touch.

Another important upgrade is LPDDR6 memory. The Xiaomi 18 Fold is the first smartphone to use LPDDR6 memory alongside the Xring O3 platform, although this combination is currently limited to the top 16GB + 1TB configuration. AnTuTu testing showed that LPDDR6 can outperform LPDDR5X by up to 37.6%, offering a meaningful improvement in memory performance.

The Xiaomi 18 Fold also introduces a new direction for Xiaomi’s foldable product design. Its mid-sized folding format sits between traditional large foldables and compact flip phones, combining a larger viewing area with a relatively portable design.

Its 2:1 screen ratio is particularly practical for reading documents and viewing PDF files. The wider display also provides a comfortable experience for watching videos, browsing photos, and handling everyday tasks. This format reflects a broader industry trend toward foldable designs that balance screen size and portability.

Despite its large battery and advanced hardware, the Xiaomi 18 Fold remains remarkably slim. The device measures just 5.02mm when unfolded and weighs around 219g, while housing a 6000mAh Jinshajiang battery. This gives it a strong advantage for users who want long battery life without carrying a bulky foldable phone.

Battery efficiency is further supported by the Xring O3 platform. In testing, one hour of large-screen video playback consumed only around 5% of the battery, suggesting that the Xiaomi 18 Fold can comfortably support extended daily use and potentially reach two days of moderate usage on a single charge.

Overall, the Xiaomi 18 Fold is more than another entry in the foldable smartphone market. By combining the Xring O3 SoC with Changxin LPDDR6 memory, Xiaomi demonstrates its progress in developing core smartphone components and improving both performance and efficiency.

For users interested in foldable phones, the Xiaomi 18 Fold offers a compelling combination of performance, battery life, portability, and innovative screen design. The special pink ceramic edition also adds a more distinctive finish for buyers who place a strong emphasis on appearance.

Gaming mice have become increasingly focused on three things: lower weight, faster communication and more accurate tracking. The ATK Blazing Sky X1 V2 series brings all three ideas together in a compact wireless design, while adding an unusually large battery for a mouse in this weight class.

Depending on the version, the X1 V2 family combines a high-performance sensor, an 8,000Hz polling rate, Nordic 54-series hardware, lightweight construction and 2.4GHz wireless connectivity. The Banggood listing identifies the Ultra Max version with a PAW3395 Ultra sensor, an 800mAh battery and a weight of around 55g, while the other versions use different sensor and switch configurations.

That makes the X1 V2 more interesting than a mouse that simply advertises a high DPI number. Its real appeal is the balance between movement, wireless responsiveness and long-term usability.

A Mouse Built Around Low Weight

A gaming mouse does not need to be extremely small to feel fast.

The X1 V2 measures approximately 127 × 64 × 40mm and uses a symmetrical body shape. Depending on the version, its listed weight is around 54–55g, putting it firmly in the lightweight gaming mouse category.

The advantage becomes particularly noticeable when a game requires frequent large movements, which is where lightweight gaming mice can make a difference.

In competitive shooters, players using relatively low sensitivity often move the mouse across a large section of the desk to make a turn or correct their aim. A lighter mouse reduces the amount of physical effort required for those repeated movements.

The X1 V2 therefore makes more sense as a precision-oriented gaming tool than as a general office mouse. Its shape and weight are designed around quick repositioning rather than adding unnecessary mass.

8,000Hz Polling Is About More Than a Bigger Number

One of the headline specifications is the 8,000Hz polling rate, a feature increasingly found on high-end competitive gaming mice.

A 1,000Hz mouse reports its position to the computer roughly every 1 millisecond. At 8,000Hz, that interval is reduced to approximately 0.125 milliseconds.

The practical difference is not that an 8K mouse suddenly makes someone a better player. Instead, a higher polling rate can provide more frequent position updates, particularly on a sufficiently powerful gaming PC and high-refresh-rate display.

The X1 V2 is designed to support 8,000Hz polling in both wired and wireless modes. ATK also lists button latency around 0.181ms for several X1 V2 configurations.

For everyday desktop work, the difference may be difficult to notice. In fast competitive games, however, players who already use high-refresh-rate monitors and low-latency peripherals are more likely to appreciate the additional responsiveness.

The Sensor Choice Depends on the Version

One detail buyers should pay attention to is that the X1 V2 is a series, not a single configuration.

The Banggood listing identifies three versions: X1 V2 Ultras Max, X1 V2 Ultimate and X1 V2 Extreme. The listing associates the Ultra Max with the PAW3395 Ultra sensor, while the other versions use different sensor configurations.

This distinction matters because shoppers should not assume that every X1 V2 carries exactly the same internal hardware.

ATK’s current official X1 V2 product page also shows that the broader X1 V2 lineup has evolved across several configurations, including models using PAW3950 Ultra and PAW3955 Master sensors.

For anyone purchasing the mouse, checking the exact version is therefore more useful than simply searching for “X1 V2.”

Why an 800mAh Battery Is Significant

Wireless gaming mice usually have to make a compromise between weight and battery capacity.

A larger battery can extend runtime, but it also adds weight. The X1 V2 takes a different approach by pairing an 800mAh battery with a lightweight body.

The Banggood listing advertises more than 800 hours of battery life at 1,000Hz for the 800mAh configuration.

That figure should be treated as a manufacturer-rated condition rather than a guaranteed runtime during continuous 8K wireless gaming. Higher polling rates, lighting, wireless conditions and other usage variables can affect actual battery life.

Even so, the battery capacity is one of the more practical reasons to consider this mouse. A wireless mouse that needs to be charged frequently can become frustrating, especially for people who use it for work during the day and gaming at night.

Wireless Freedom Without Giving Up Wired Mode

The X1 V2 supports wired and 2.4GHz wireless connectivity, giving users two different ways to use the mouse.

That flexibility is useful because different situations call for different setups.

A wired connection can make sense when charging the mouse or when someone wants the simplest possible competitive setup. Wireless operation, meanwhile, removes the cable from the desk and allows the mouse to move more freely, which is one of the main advantages of a wireless gaming mouse.

The included 8K receiver and cable are part of the package listed by Banggood, so the high-polling-rate setup is not dependent on purchasing a separate basic receiver.

The Shape May Matter More Than the Specifications

Specifications are easy to compare. Mouse shape is not.

The X1 V2 uses a symmetrical 127mm-long body and is positioned by ATK for medium-to-large hands, with claw and palm grips listed as suitable grip styles.

This suggests that the mouse is aimed at users who want a relatively substantial body without moving into the heavier designs commonly associated with large gaming mice.

For claw-grip users, the rear portion of the shell can provide support while still leaving enough freedom for quick fingertip adjustments. Palm-grip players may also appreciate the larger overall footprint.

However, grip preference is highly personal. A lightweight mouse can have excellent specifications and still feel wrong if its hump, width or button position does not match the user’s hand.

PTFE Feet Complete the Lightweight Approach

Weight alone does not determine how quickly a mouse moves.

The contact surface between the mouse and mousepad also has a major effect on the feeling of movement. The X1 V2 uses high-purity PTFE mouse feet, with ATK describing the design as focused on smooth and stable gliding.

This becomes particularly relevant when the mouse is used with a low sensitivity setting.

A lightweight shell combined with low-friction feet can make broad movements feel less demanding. At the same time, players who prefer more stopping resistance may want to consider their mousepad surface before deciding whether this setup matches their preferences.

A Nordic 54-Series Platform

Inside the X1 V2 is ATK’s Nordic 54-series platform.

The manufacturer describes its ApexShark MAX solution as a combination of hardware and firmware optimization, with high-speed wireless transmission and low button latency.

The important point for buyers is that the mouse is not relying on the polling rate alone. The controller, wireless system, sensor and firmware all contribute to the overall response chain.

This is also why looking only at DPI can be misleading when comparing gaming mice. A high maximum DPI number does not automatically translate into better real-world aiming.

For most players, sensor tracking quality, consistent wireless communication, shape and the ability to control the mouse comfortably are more meaningful factors.

Who Is the ATK Blazing Sky X1 V2 For?

The X1 V2 makes the most sense for several types of users.

Competitive FPS players may benefit from the lightweight body and high polling rate, particularly when paired with a high-refresh-rate monitor.

Low-sensitivity gamers can take advantage of the reduced weight when making repeated wide movements.

Wireless enthusiasts get 2.4GHz connectivity without having to accept a heavy mouse.

Users who dislike frequent charging may find the 800mAh configuration particularly attractive because of its large battery capacity.

It is less compelling for someone who mainly wants a basic office mouse. An 8K polling rate and esports-focused sensor platform are unnecessary for browsing, documents and casual desktop use.

What Makes the X1 V2 Different?

The strongest part of the X1 V2 concept is not one individual specification.

There are plenty of gaming mice with high polling rates. There are also many lightweight wireless mice and plenty of models with high-end optical sensors.

The more interesting combination here is the attempt to bring these characteristics together without turning the mouse into an ultra-small design or sacrificing battery capacity.

The result is a peripheral aimed at players who want a fast, light and flexible setup but still care about endurance.

Final Thoughts

ATK Blazing Sky X1 V2 is best understood as a performance-focused wireless mouse rather than another accessory chasing impressive numbers.

Its lightweight construction can make large movements easier, while 8,000Hz polling targets users who want a highly responsive setup. The 2.4GHz connection keeps the desk cable-free, and the 800mAh battery on the Ultra Max configuration addresses one of the biggest disadvantages of lightweight wireless mice: charging interruptions.

The biggest buying consideration is the specific X1 V2 version. Sensor, switch, weight and battery specifications can differ across the range, so the exact configuration matters.

For gamers who already have a high-refresh-rate monitor and care about low-latency peripherals, the X1 V2 offers a well-balanced collection of hardware features. For casual users, many of those advantages will be difficult to notice—and a simpler mouse may make more sense.

iQOO has revealed more details about its upcoming iQOO Pad Ultra, giving users a closer look at the tablet’s cooling system and gaming-focused accessories. The new compact tablet is expected to target users who want stronger performance in a smaller form factor.

According to the latest official teaser, the iQOO Pad Ultra will feature a built-in cooling fan designed to help manage heat during demanding workloads and extended gaming sessions. The fan measures just 30 × 30 × 3.5mm, while the cooling area reaches 1,661mm². It can spin at up to 14,500rpm and deliver a maximum airflow of 0.94 CFM.

iQOO Pad Ultra Gets Dedicated Gaming Accessories

iQOO is also preparing two gaming accessories for the Pad Ultra: a telescopic game controller and a rear grip attachment.

The telescopic controller is designed to turn the compact tablet into a more console-like gaming setup. It features a dedicated USB-C port, micro-switch buttons and Hall-effect joysticks, which should provide more precise control and a more responsive feel during gameplay.

The rear grip takes a different approach. Rather than adding traditional controls, it is designed to improve the way users hold the tablet. This could make longer gaming sessions more comfortable by providing additional support for the hands.

8.8-Inch OLED Display and High-End Hardware

iQOO has already confirmed that the device will officially carry the iQOO Pad Ultra name. The company is expected to launch it alongside the iQOO 16 series toward the end of September.

Previous reports suggest that the tablet could feature an 8.8-inch OLED display with a centered punch-hole camera and four narrow bezels. Its rear design is also expected to include a square-shaped camera module and an integrated air outlet for the internal cooling system.

The tablet is rumored to use a 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen6 processor, positioning it as a high-performance compact tablet aimed at demanding users and mobile gamers. It may also pack a 9,000mAh-class battery, offering a relatively large capacity for an 8.8-inch device.

The reported color options include Endless Black and Star Armor Silver.

A Compact Tablet Designed for Gaming

With an active cooling fan, high-end hardware and dedicated gaming accessories, the iQOO Pad Ultra appears to be taking a different approach from conventional small tablets. Instead of focusing solely on portability, iQOO seems to be building the device around sustained performance and gaming.

More official details, including the final specifications, pricing and availability, should become clearer when iQOO officially introduces the Pad Ultra later this month.

Xiaomi has officially introduced the Xiaomi 18 Fold, a new foldable smartphone featuring a mid-fold design, dual high-refresh-rate displays and the new Xuanji O3 Xiaomi AI flagship SoC. The phone starts at 10,999 yuan in China and is available for pre-order ahead of its official sale on September 10 at 10 a.m.

The Xiaomi 18 Fold is positioned as a premium foldable that combines a compact outer display with a larger tablet-style inner screen. Xiaomi has also focused heavily on performance, battery density, durability and multitasking.

Xiaomi 18 Fold Price and Storage Options

The Xiaomi 18 Fold is available in several memory and storage configurations, check Xiaomi 18 Fold price and specifications here.

12GB + 256GB: 10,999 yuan

12GB + 512GB: 11,999 yuan

16GB + 512GB: 12,999 yuan

16GB + 1TB LPDDR6: 14,999 yuan

16GB + 1TB LPDDR6 Ceramic Edition: 15,999 yuan

The ceramic special edition is limited to 1,500 units, making it the most exclusive version in the lineup.

Dual Displays Designed Around a Paper-Like Ratio

One of the biggest changes on the Xiaomi 18 Fold is its new mid-fold form factor. The phone combines a 5.38-inch outer display with a much larger 7.58-inch internal screen. It shows Xiaomi foldable display technology here.

Both panels use a display ratio inspired by the √2:1 proportions of standard paper. Xiaomi says this approach is intended to provide a more natural reading and productivity experience when the device is unfolded.

The displays support an LTPO 1-120Hz refresh rate and can reach up to 4,000 nits under specified outdoor brightness conditions. Xiaomi also says the new super-pixel display technology improves clarity while helping reduce power consumption.

The phone is available in several finishes, including the main Xieye Red color along with warm gold white and black options.

Slim Foldable Design at 219g

Despite having a large internal screen, the Xiaomi 18 Fold measures only 5.02mm when unfolded and 10.68mm when folded. Its total weight is approximately 219 grams.

The design uses rounded corners, a flat-wrapped middle frame and a track-inspired decorative element. Xiaomi has also optimized the external screen for one-handed use.

The company says the outer display allows most areas to be reached comfortably with one hand. Its wider layout is also designed to show more characters on a single line, making reading more natural.

Xiaomi has even widened the keyboard area by around 8% compared with a typical 6.9-inch straight-screen smartphone, giving users more room for typing.

Up to Six Apps on Screen

The larger internal display is designed not only for media consumption but also for productivity. Xiaomi 18 Fold supports a new multitasking system capable of displaying up to six split-screen windows at the same time.

The phone also integrates Xiaomi’s Super Xiaoyi Inspiration Ball, which can handle more complicated tasks through natural-language commands. This makes the large foldable screen more useful for users who frequently switch between multiple apps.

Xuanji O3 Brings a Major Performance Upgrade

The Xiaomi 18 Fold is the first smartphone to use the new Xuanji O3 Xiaomi AI flagship SoC.

Xiaomi says the chip is the company’s first AI flagship platform to exceed 500 million operations. Compared with the previous generation, the CPU’s multi-core performance is claimed to increase by 60%, while low-load power consumption falls by 25%.

The GPU is also reported to deliver an 85% performance improvement while reducing power consumption by 64%.

For AI workloads, the Xuanji O3 provides up to 200 TOPS of NPU tensor computing performance and 3.13 TFLOPS of vector computing performance.

Another notable component is the phone’s LPDDR6 memory. Xiaomi says it worked with ChangXin Storage to achieve the first mass production of domestic LPDDR6 memory for the device.

6,000mAh Battery With 67W Charging

The Xiaomi 18 Fold packs a 6,000mAh battery using Xiaomi’s Jinjiang battery technology and a double-layer stacked structure.

The battery has a reported 20% high-silicon content and reaches an energy density of up to 920Wh/L. The high-density design is particularly important for a foldable phone because internal space is shared between the hinge, displays and other components.

Charging support includes:

67W wired fast charging

50W wireless charging

The combination of a 6,000mAh capacity and stacked battery architecture gives the Xiaomi 18 Fold a relatively large power reserve without significantly increasing its thickness.

Leica Triple-Camera System

For photography, the Xiaomi 18 Fold features a Leica-branded triple-camera setup covering multiple focal lengths.

The system includes:

200-megapixel Leica main camera

50-megapixel Leica telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom

50-megapixel Leica ultra-wide camera

The combination is designed to give users more flexibility across standard, zoom and wide-angle photography.

Reinforced Foldable Construction

Durability is another major focus of the Xiaomi 18 Fold. Xiaomi says the phone can withstand drops from up to 1.2 meters and is designed to offer durability closer to that of a conventional flagship smartphone.

The structure combines a new Xiaomi frame design with a 7-series aluminum alloy middle frame and Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0.

The foldable display structure also uses dual-layer UTG ultra-thin glass together with flexible insulating materials. Xiaomi says the hinge and body structure went through full-angle simulations and real-world environmental testing, resulting in 492 structural optimizations.

Xiaomi 18 Fold Ceramic Edition

Alongside the standard models, Xiaomi has introduced a limited Xiaomi 18 Fold Ceramic Edition.

The special version uses a new silicon nitride ceramic material designed to provide greater hardness while keeping the device relatively light. It is offered exclusively with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage.

The ceramic model costs 15,999 yuan and is limited to 1,500 units.

Xiaomi 18 Fold: A Foldable Focused on Performance and Productivity

Xiaomi 18 Fold stands out from earlier foldables through its combination of a compact outer screen, a 7.58-inch internal display, a 6,000mAh battery and the new Xuanji O3 AI chipset.

Its 5.02mm unfolded thickness and 219g weight are also notable for a device with this type of dual-screen design.

With prices starting at 10,999 yuan, Xiaomi is clearly positioning the 18 Fold in the premium foldable segment. Its biggest attractions are the large internal display, six-window multitasking support, Leica camera system, high-density battery and next-generation AI processing platform.

For users looking for a foldable that can function as both a compact smartphone and a larger productivity device, the Xiaomi 18 Fold is one of the company’s most ambitious foldable designs yet.

CHUWI has unveiled the UniBox AI495 Pro, a compact AI workstation designed for demanding local AI workloads, at IFA Berlin 2026. The new mini PC pairs AMD’s high-end Ryzen AI MAX+ PRO 495 processor, also known as the Gorgon Halo platform, with up to 192GB of unified memory and a Radeon 8065S integrated GPU.

The combination is aimed at users who want to run large language models locally rather than relying entirely on cloud-based AI services. According to CHUWI, the UniBox AI495 Pro can handle local LLMs with up to 300 billion parameters using 4-bit quantization, putting it among the more ambitious compact AI workstation designs currently being introduced.

Ryzen AI MAX+ PRO 495 Powers the UniBox AI495 Pro

The main highlight of the CHUWI UniBox AI495 Pro is its AMD Ryzen AI MAX+ PRO 495 processor. The chip uses AMD’s Zen 5 architecture and features 16 CPU cores and 32 threads, with a maximum boost clock of up to 5.2GHz.

The processor is paired with AMD Radeon 8065S graphics based on the RDNA 3.5 architecture. The integrated GPU provides 40 graphics cores and a maximum graphics frequency of 3,000MHz.

For AI workloads, CHUWI lists up to 131 TOPS of overall platform AI performance, including up to 55 TOPS from the XDNA 2 NPU. This also makes the system suitable for Copilot+ PC-class AI applications and other workloads that can take advantage of dedicated neural processing.

Up to 192GB of Unified Memory

Memory capacity is another major feature of the UniBox AI495 Pro.

The system can be configured with up to 192GB of LPDDR5x-8533 unified memory using a 256-bit memory interface. CHUWI lists memory bandwidth of up to 273GB/s, while as much as 160GB can be allocated as VRAM for graphics and AI workloads.

This large shared memory pool is particularly important for local AI applications. Instead of being limited by the relatively small VRAM capacity found on many conventional graphics cards, compatible AI workloads can access a much larger portion of system memory.

CHUWI says this configuration enables the UniBox AI495 Pro to run 300B-parameter local LLMs at 4-bit quantization, although actual performance will vary depending on the model, quantization method, software stack and workload.

Compact 2.9-Liter AI Workstation

Despite its hardware capabilities, the UniBox AI495 Pro maintains a relatively compact form factor.

The mini workstation measures 209.6 × 209.6 × 67mm and has a volume of approximately 2.9 liters. CHUWI also gives the system an X-Frame-inspired exterior design that distinguishes it from more conventional mini PCs.

The small chassis could make the UniBox AI495 Pro an interesting option for developers, researchers and power users who need substantial local computing capability without moving to a full-size desktop workstation.

Radeon 8065S Graphics for Gaming and AI

The integrated Radeon 8065S GPU uses AMD’s RDNA 3.5 graphics architecture and features 40 graphics cores.

CHUWI positions the GPU as capable of delivering smooth 1080p gaming performance in demanding titles. The company also states that the graphics solution can outperform an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 in certain workloads, although such comparisons should be treated carefully because real-world results depend heavily on the game, power limits, memory configuration and testing conditions.

More importantly for the UniBox AI495 Pro, the GPU can share the system’s large unified memory pool. This gives AI applications considerably more memory headroom than typical integrated graphics solutions.

Designed for Large Local AI Models

Local AI is one of the main reasons the UniBox AI495 Pro stands out.

CHUWI says the system can run models containing up to 300 billion parameters when using 4-bit quantization. Large models normally require substantial memory capacity, making the 192GB configuration particularly relevant for developers experimenting with local inference.

The system could therefore appeal to AI developers working with large language models, coding assistants, private AI tools and other applications where keeping data on the local machine is preferred.

However, parameter capacity should not be confused with inference speed. A system may be able to load a large model into memory while still delivering relatively modest token-generation performance depending on the model architecture and software optimization.

Fast Connectivity and Expansion

The UniBox AI495 Pro also provides a broad selection of connectivity options for a workstation of this size.

The system includes dual 10Gbps Ethernet ports, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. For high-speed external devices, it features two USB4 ports supporting speeds of up to 40Gbps, along with an OCuLink interface.

Storage is handled through three M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 ×4 slots, with CHUWI listing up to a 2TB SSD configuration. This gives users room to expand local storage for large AI models, datasets, applications and games.

A 240W power adapter is included, with the system rated for a 20V/12A input.

CHUWI UniBox AI495 Pro vs. UniBox AI395

CHUWI is also introducing the UniBox AI395, giving the series a second option based on AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 395 platform.

The AI495 Pro uses the Ryzen AI MAX+ PRO 495 with a 5.2GHz boost clock, while the AI395 uses the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 with a maximum boost clock of 5.1GHz.

*CHUWI’s stated figures depend on model architecture, quantization and software configuration.

Pricing and Availability

CHUWI has not yet announced the official UniBox AI495 Pro price or retail availability. The company says pricing and availability details will be revealed at a later date.

With its combination of the Ryzen AI MAX+ PRO 495, Radeon 8065S graphics and up to 192GB of unified memory, the UniBox AI495 Pro is clearly targeting users who need more local AI capacity than a typical mini PC can provide.

The most interesting aspect is not simply its compact size, but the amount of memory available to AI workloads. If CHUWI can deliver competitive real-world performance while maintaining reasonable power consumption and pricing, the UniBox AI495 Pro could become an appealing alternative to larger desktop workstations for local AI development and experimentation.

For now, however, the final price, detailed performance benchmarks and retail availability will be key factors in determining how competitive this new CHUWI AI mini workstation will be.

Xiaomi has officially unveiled a ceramic edition of the upcoming Xiaomi 18 Fold, adding a refined pink finish to its new book-style foldable lineup. The special variant was showcased by Lu Weibing, Xiaomi Group Partner and President, who highlighted the individuality of the ceramic finish, noting that each unit can have its own subtle color characteristics. The new version retains the core design of the standard Xiaomi 18 Fold while giving the foldable phone a more distinctive premium look.

The newly shown model does not appear to introduce major changes to the phone’s overall design compared with the standard version. Instead, Xiaomi has focused on the material and color treatment. The ceramic edition features a light pink finish that gives the large foldable a more elegant and understated look.

Xiaomi 18 Fold Gets a Pink Ceramic Variant

Based on the images released so far, the Xiaomi 18 Fold Ceramic Edition retains the same overall body design as the regular model. There are no obvious additional decorative elements or major changes to the camera module.

The biggest difference is the color and surface finish. Its pale pink appearance gives the phone a more refined visual identity and separates it from the standard color options.

The regular Xiaomi 18 Fold is also expected to launch in Warm Gold White, Black, and Xiye Red. Xiaomi is using a design language centered around extremely narrow bezels, large-radius corners, and clean, flat surfaces.

The phone reportedly adopts a four-sided narrow-bezel design with rounded corners, while the rear camera area uses a distinctive track-shaped Deco. A flat, wraparound middle frame is intended to create a cleaner and more streamlined appearance.

Two Displays Built Around a Paper-Like Ratio

Xiaomi 18 Fold introduces a new mid-sized foldable design, giving Xiaomi another approach to the increasingly competitive foldable smartphone market. Unlike conventional book-style foldables that can become quite large when opened, the device is designed around proportions closer to a standard sheet of paper.

The phone is expected to feature a 5.38-inch external display and a 7.58-inch internal screen. Both panels reportedly follow an approximately √2:1 ratio, giving the device a more consistent viewing format when folded and unfolded.

Xiaomi is also said to use dual-layer UTG ultra-thin glass to improve durability while maintaining the flexibility required for a foldable display.

New Flagship Hardware With Xuanjie O3 AI SoC

Performance is another major focus of the Xiaomi 18 Fold. The device is reportedly set to debut with Xiaomi’s Xuanjie O3 AI flagship SoC, with early benchmark information claiming an AnTuTu score of more than 5.22 million points.

The phone is also expected to introduce LPDDR6 memory for the first time, with reported memory bandwidth reaching approximately 113.8GB/s.

If these specifications are accurate, Xiaomi is positioning the 18 Fold as considerably more than a large-screen productivity device. Its hardware is designed to support demanding applications, AI workloads, multitasking, and other advanced mobile functions.

Leica Camera System Targets Mobile Photography

Photography is another major part of Xiaomi’s strategy for its flagship foldable phones, with the new model combining Leica tuning with a high-resolution main sensor

The reported setup includes a 200-megapixel Leica main camera using a relatively large 1/1.56-inch sensor. It is joined by a 50-megapixel Leica periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom, along with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera.

Xiaomi is also promoting several shooting scenarios that take advantage of the foldable design.

When closed, the phone can reportedly be used in a camera-like configuration with a large 4:3 preview area. When unfolded, the external display can provide a high-resolution live preview, giving users more control over framing and posing.

The larger internal screen is also intended to support post-production and creative workflows, with Xiaomi highlighting compatibility with professional applications.

Large Battery With 67W Wired and 50W Wireless Charging

Despite its slim foldable form factor, the Xiaomi 18 Fold is expected to pack a 6,000mAh battery.

The battery is reportedly based on Xiaomi’s Jinsha River battery technology, with a silicon content of around 20% and an energy density of approximately 920Wh/L.

Charging is expected to include 67W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging, giving users two high-speed charging options.

The combination of a large battery and high-density cell technology could be particularly important for a foldable phone, where power consumption can increase significantly when the larger internal display is used for extended periods.

HyperOS 4 and Expanded App Support

The Xiaomi 18 Fold is also expected to launch with HyperOS 4, making it one of the first Xiaomi devices to use the company’s new software platform.

Several popular applications are reportedly being optimized for the unusual screen format, including iQIYI, NetEase Cloud Music, WPS, CapCut, Wind, and Amap.

Xiaomi is also expected to introduce its XiaoAI Inspiration Ball feature on the device, adding another layer of AI-powered interaction to the foldable experience.

The emphasis on software optimization is important because foldable phones require applications to handle different screen sizes and orientations more effectively than conventional smartphones.

Stronger Hinge and Body Protection

Durability remains a key consideration for any foldable device. The Xiaomi 18 Fold reportedly uses a new-generation Xiaomi Dragonbone Hinge with a natural water-drop structure.

The device is also claimed to withstand drops from approximately 1.2 meters. Additional protection reportedly includes Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0 and a reinforced 7-series aluminum alloy middle frame.

These features suggest that Xiaomi is putting significant effort into addressing one of the biggest concerns surrounding foldable smartphones: long-term durability.

Xiaomi 18 Fold Price and Availability

Xiaomi has positioned the 18 Fold as its most premium smartphone to date, and the pricing is expected to reflect that positioning.

Lu Weibing has previously indicated that the phone will cost more than RMB 10,000, placing it firmly in the flagship foldable segment.

The Xiaomi 18 Fold is currently expected to be offered in several standard colors, including Warm Gold White, Black, and Xiye Red, alongside the newly revealed pink ceramic special edition.

However, Xiaomi has not yet disclosed all final details surrounding the ceramic version, including its exact price, availability, and whether it will be produced in limited quantities.

Xiaomi 18 Fold: What We Know So Far

Based on the information released so far, the Xiaomi 18 Fold combines a new foldable form factor with flagship hardware, Leica imaging, a large battery, and software designed specifically for its dual-screen configuration.

Key reported specifications include:

Xiaomi 18 Fold Ceramic Edition looks set to stand apart mainly through its premium exterior rather than a major hardware overhaul. Its most distinctive element is the soft pink ceramic finish, while the core foldable design and flagship hardware are expected to remain largely consistent with the standard Xiaomi 18 Fold.

Xiaomi has yet to confirm the complete specifications, final pricing, and availability of the ceramic model. Until those details are officially announced, the current Xiaomi 18 Fold Ceramic Edition information should be considered preliminary.

Smart ring battery life is another major improvement. The Circular Ring 3 Pro can last up to 12 days on a charge, compared with around seven days for the previous Ring 2.
The Ring 3 Pro is the more advanced model in the lineup and focuses heavily on health monitoring. It features an ECG sensor that can be used to detect signs of atrial fibrillation (AFib).

Circular also lists several additional health-tracking capabilities for the Pro model, including blood pressure trend monitoring, blood glucose tracking, advanced sleep analysis, and broader physiological measurements.

These features position the Ring 3 Pro as more than a basic activity tracker, with a stronger focus on continuous health and wellness data.

It tracks key metrics such as sleep, heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), blood oxygen saturation (SpO₂), skin temperature, and daily activity. Its maximum battery life is rated at up to 10 days.

Compared with the Pro model, the Slim version places less emphasis on advanced health measurements while maintaining the core tracking features most users would expect from a smart ring.

The feature can be used for silent wake-up alarms, medication reminders, and important health alerts. Circular also says the vibration feedback can guide users during breathing exercises.

The Circular Ring 3 series combines health tracking, NFC payments, longer battery life, and vibration alerts in a compact smart ring. The Ring 3 Pro offers more advanced features such as AFib detection, while the Ring 3 Slim focuses on essential health and activity tracking with a lighter design.
