Along with the Galaxy Tab A2 10.5 inch, Samsung will announce the Galaxy Tab S4 and Galaxy Tab Advanced 2 in the near future. The earliest anticipated equipment will arrive in IFA 2018 taking place from August 31st to September 5th.
Earlier this week Samsung Galaxy Tab A2 showed up in the FCC and, as a result, some of the characteristics of the upcoming tablet became known. The web has images that are considered live photos of the new mobile device, the software of which is based on the Samsung Experience user interface.

The photos became an additional confirmation of the absence of the Home button and thin frames on the sides of the screen. Thus, it is still not known whether the fingerprint scanner is located on the rear panel of the tablet, however, such an approach would be difficult to call ergonomic. Therefore, it is more likely that in the future tablet this component will simply be absent. Samsung Galaxy Tab A2? The mobile device in question is a less expensive alternative to the Galaxy Tab S4, also not yet announced, which also lacks the Home button, and the screen frames are very thin.
According to the technical characteristics of the novelties in the FCC, the Galaxy Tab A2 will be equipped with a 10.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. The options are devices with support for only Wi-Fi and LTE support (optional). The tablet will be charged via the USB-C port.
A recently released report said that a member of the LineageOS team recently discovered firmware files for the Galaxy Tab A2 10.5 (also known as Galaxy Tab A2 XL, gta2xl, and Samsung SM-T590). The reference files are named “wink_key”, which is similar to the one mentioned earlier in the Samsung Galaxy S8, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Samsung Galaxy S9 files. This may suggest that Samsung can equip a dedicated Bixby button for the Galaxy Tab A2 10.5 inch. If you do not know then Bixby is Samsung’s AI-assisted virtual assistant.
Besides being able to equip the Bixby Button, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.5 will have a 10.5 inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. The tablet is expected to be equipped with Snapdragon 450 processor and Adreno 506 GPU. A 5MP camera will be on the back of the tablet and it also has a front camera. The battery of Galaxy Tab A2 10.5 will be 7,300 mAh with Android 8.1 Oreo pre-installed. It will be available in Wi-Fi Only and LTE versions.
