Whenever I passed such a group playing cards, I even cursed them inside. Fate had it, that once I stumbled on such a group, and had no other choice but to watch them play, how about this Classic Rummy game?
without myself knowing, I was slowly attracted by the game and realised that it is not a matter of holding good cards but laying the poor cards well.

Online Rummy is an interesting card game that can be learnt with ease. How does one play Online Rummy? What are the rummy rules?
The Rules of Rummy are quite simple, and one should definitely learn to play this fun game that keeps you on your toes.
Basic Rules of Online Rummy and Objectives:
- Each player must be dealt with 13 cards.
- There must be 1 joker and a randomly selected joker wild card.
- Players must draw and discard cards from the decks and form sequences and sets.
- You must make 2 sequences, a pure sequence and any valid sequences or sets.
- If you have the required sequences and sets, you can make a rummy declaration and win.
- You cannot make a declaration without having at least 1 pure sequence
- Each player must always have 13 cards.
How to Play Indian Rummy?
Indian Rummy is played with 2 decks where one is an open deck and the other is a closed deck.
The decks consist of 2 jokers in total. The game is won by forming groups of valid sequences and sets. Rummy can be played between 2 to 6 players.
Forming Sequences
You have to form a sequence by grouping 3 or more cards of the same suit consecutively. There are 2 types of sequences: pure and impure.
Pure Sequence
A pure sequence does not consist of jokers or wild cards.
Impure Sequence
An impure sequence consists of 1 or more jokers/ wild cards.
Notice that the 8 of clubs is a joker wild card used as a 2 of hearts.
Forming Sets
You can form sets by grouping 3 or more cards of the same value but different suits. Sets can contain Jokers.
Drawing and Discarding
At your turn, you must pick a card from the open deck or the closed deck and discard a card from your hand into the open deck.
Winning
If you make sequences and sets that are valid out of the 13 cards, you can make a Rummy declaration and win.
The above 13 cards consist of a compulsory pure sequence, an impure sequence (not compulsory) and 2 sets. The above player can make a declaration and win the game.
Quitting
You can quit the game if you feel the cards dealt to you are not good enough. But you must wait till it’s your turn to withdraw from the game.
Rummy is where with talent you win a game. With consistency you become a champion.
