Google's Android 12 Go Officially Released

According to a Google blog post today, more than 200 million people are currently actively using Android Go smartphones. Google also revealed new features and improvements that will appear in the 2022 Version of Android 12 Go. Apps will start up 30% faster on the Android 12 Go version, igeekphone has learned. Google also claims that devices running the Android 12 Go version will offer better battery life.

Here are some of the highlights of Android 12 Go:

Apps on Android 12 (the Go version) devices will launch 30% faster and animate more smoothly — meaning they will open immediately and no longer wait on a blank screen.

Android 12 (the Go version) will automatically save battery life and storage space by hibernating apps that have not been used for a long time — especially helpful on devices with limited storage capacity.

Android 12 (the Go version) also makes it easier to understand your content. By navigating to the nearest app screen, you’ll see the option to listen to the news and translate whatever’s on the screen into your preferred language.

With Android 12 (the Go version), you’ll be able to save data by sharing apps directly with nearby devices using nearby Shares and Google Play.

Google has simplified the user experience for visitors to Android 12 (the Go version) by making profiles available directly on the lock screen. You’ll be able to easily switch to the visitor profile before sharing your device and reset it when they’re done.

Android 12 (the Go version) will give you more transparency about the apps that access your data, as well as more control over how much private information your apps can access.

Android 12 comes with a new privacy dashboard. You’ll see which apps are accessing snapshots of specific types of sensitive data, such as microphones, and revoke permissions if needed. A new privacy metric in the status bar will tell you when your app specifically accesses your microphone or camera.
