Igeekphone News, December 4th: Technology media XiaomiTime published a blog post today (December 4th), sharing a set of photos showcasing Black Shark’s first tablet equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, breaking the brand’s usual practice of using Mediatek or Unisplendour chips in tablets.
In terms of the chip, the exposed photos show the words “QUALCOMM SM8635P”, confirming that the device will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip. Previously launched tablets by Black Shark (such as the Black Shark Pad 6) mostly adopted chips from Mediatek or Unisplendour Spreadtrum, targeting the entry-level to mid-range market.

The media believes that this chip replacement indicates that Black Shark intends to shed the label of “affordable alternative” and provide genuine hardcore performance support for high-load games such as “Genshin Impact” and “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds”.
In terms of storage, this tablet will be equipped with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage space to meet the storage requirements of large game files. It also retains a TF card slot (MicroSD) to support storage expansion.
In terms of appearance, judging from the spy photos of the front panel, the front camera is located on the long side of the screen, and the border control is reasonable. This layout supports Black Shark’s definition of it as a “horizontal screen game console” and media consumption center, rather than a traditional vertical screen reading device, which is expected to bring a smooth high-definition gaming experience.

The back of the device features grey-toned geometric lines and grille details, creating a strong sense of industrial futurism. The “S” logo in the center and the brand engraving in the lower right corner highlight its identity. The rear camera module is located in the upper left corner (when held horizontally), featuring a single camera and an LED flash. The power button retains the signature red accents of the Black Shark. The volume keys are located at the top, and there are speaker openings on both sides.
In terms of battery, it is reported that the tablet is equipped with a 7300mAh capacity battery, and the leaked charging adapter (model ES166A-US) has an output power of only 20W. The media believes that for Black Shark users who are accustomed to 120W fast charging, this parameter seems out of place.
