Vivo X500 Series Receives Certification Ahead of Launch, Expected to Debut with MediaTek’s 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro

The upcoming vivo X500 series has taken another step toward its official debut after receiving network certification in China. According to newly surfaced information, the lineup will introduce three flagship smartphones, debut OriginOS 7, and become the first devices powered by MediaTek’s next-generation Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset, which is reportedly manufactured using TSMC’s advanced 2nm process.

The new flagship series is expected to launch officially in September.

    Three Flagship Models Expected

According to certification information, the vivo X500 series includes a device bearing the model number V2609A. Reports indicate that vivo will expand the lineup this year by introducing a new Pro Max model alongside the standard and Pro variants.

    The expected lineup includes:

    • vivo X500
    • vivo X500 Pro
    • vivo X500 Pro Max

The addition of a Pro Max model would give vivo a broader flagship portfolio, allowing it to better compete in the premium smartphone segment.

OriginOS 7 Brings Enhanced AI Experience

The vivo X500 series is expected to ship with OriginOS 7 pre-installed, introducing a redesigned interface and a stronger focus on AI-powered productivity.

According to leaked information, the new operating system emphasizes proactive AI, enabling the system to better understand user intent and complete tasks more intelligently across a variety of everyday scenarios.

The software is also expected to integrate support for multiple AI large language models, including:

    • vivo Blue Heart AI
    • Zhipu AI
    • ERNIE Bot
    • Doubao
    • DeepSeek
    • Tongyi Qianwen

By supporting multiple AI platforms, the X500 series aims to provide users with a broader range of intelligent services for office productivity, content creation, search, and daily assistance.

    Redesigned User Interface

OriginOS 7 is also rumored to introduce several visual enhancements, including:

    • A new Liquid Glass-inspired user interface
    • An upgraded Light Field rendering engine
    • Expanded personalization options
    • Customizable themes
    • Smoother system animations and transitions

These updates are expected to deliver a more modern appearance while improving overall responsiveness and user experience.

First Smartphone Powered by the Dimensity 9600 Pro

One of the most significant highlights of the vivo X500 series is its processor.

The lineup is expected to become the first smartphone family powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600 Pro, a flagship chipset reportedly built using TSMC’s 2nm manufacturing process.

According to the leak, the processor features a new tri-cluster CPU architecture consisting of:

    • Two ARM C2-Ultra performance cores running at approximately 5GHz
    • Three ARM C2-Premium performance cores
    • Three ARM C2-Pro efficiency cores

The architecture is designed to deliver substantial improvements in both peak performance and power efficiency, making it well suited for demanding AI workloads, gaming, and multitasking.

    Next-Generation Memory and Storage

The Dimensity 9600 Pro is also expected to support the latest high-performance memory technologies, including:

    • LPDDR6 RAM
    • UFS 5.0 storage

These upgrades should significantly improve data transfer speeds, application launch times, and overall system responsiveness while providing greater bandwidth for AI processing and graphics-intensive applications.

    Sony Lytia L910 Camera Sensor

Photography is another major focus of the vivo X500 series.

According to the leaked specifications, the smartphones will be among the first to feature Sony’s new Lytia L910 image sensor.

    Key specifications include:

    • 50MP resolution
    • 1/1.28-inch sensor size
    • 1.22μm pixel size

The larger sensor is expected to deliver improved light-gathering performance, resulting in better image quality, especially in low-light environments.

    LOFIC Technology Enhances Dynamic Range

The Lytia L910 sensor is also expected to incorporate Sony’s latest LOFIC (Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor) technology.

This advanced imaging technology is designed to improve dynamic range by preserving highlight and shadow details in challenging lighting conditions, such as scenes with strong backlighting or bright reflections.

As a result, photos should exhibit more natural exposure with reduced highlight clipping and greater detail retention, producing images that more closely resemble what the human eye perceives.

    Launch Expected in September

While vivo has yet to officially announce the X500 series, certification listings and multiple industry reports suggest the smartphones are on track for a September debut.

If the leaked specifications prove accurate, the vivo X500 series could represent one of the company’s most ambitious flagship launches to date. With a new Pro Max model, OriginOS 7, multi-model AI integration, Sony’s latest imaging sensor, and the world’s first smartphone powered by MediaTek’s 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro processor, the lineup is shaping up to be a major contender in the premium Android smartphone market for 2026.
