British American Tobacco (BAT) has introduced a new nicotine pouch concept in Sweden under its VELO WRKS label. Called VELO WRKS Dual Can, the range uses a divided container that holds two different pouch flavors in one package.
The first collection, known as Drop 1, arrived on November 2, 2026. It includes three combinations, bringing six distinct flavor profiles into the initial release. Each can contains 20 slim pouches, with 10 in each compartment.
Rather than simply introducing another flavor, BAT is using WRKS as a platform to test packaging concepts and product combinations. The company is also collecting consumer feedback to help shape potential future releases.
VELO WRKS Introduces a Two-Compartment Can
The main feature of VELO WRKS is its Dual Can packaging. Instead of storing all pouches together, the container is separated into two independent sections. Each compartment holds 10 pouches of a different flavor.
A dividing membrane keeps the two varieties separate inside the same can. This allows users to choose between two flavor options without carrying separate packages.
The design also differs from conventional nicotine pouch cans in one practical respect: the Dual Can format removes the usual dedicated compartment for storing used pouches.
BAT’s approach puts packaging innovation at the center of the WRKS concept. The two-section design is intended to distinguish the series from standard single-flavor pouch products.
BAT has previously explored unconventional nicotine pouch packaging through products such as VELO Shift, which introduced a distinctive geometric container design.
Three VELO WRKS Combinations Make Up the First Release
The initial Drop 1 collection includes three Dual Can products. Each pairs two different flavor profiles, combining familiar fruit or spice notes with less conventional ingredients.
| VELO WRKS product | First compartment | Second compartment |
|---|---|---|
| Raspberry Lime / Strawberry Basil | Raspberry and lime | Strawberry and basil |
| Tropical Orange / Lemongrass Ginger | Tropical orange and guava | Lemongrass and ginger |
| Cardamom Bread / Red Miso | Cardamom and vanilla | Red miso |
The Tropical Orange combination also includes guava in the official flavor description. The Cardamom Bread option pairs cardamom and vanilla notes with red miso, which the brand describes as having savory and slightly salty characteristics.
All three products use the same basic pouch format and nicotine specification. Their main differences are the flavor pairings and the two-compartment presentation.
VELO has also used VELO’s Tomorrowland 2026 limited edition collaborations to differentiate its nicotine pouch products, including its Tomorrowland 2026 packaging release.

The price is not necessarily a premium across the entire VELO range. Some existing 8 mg products are listed at lower prices, while others share the same SEK 52.99 price point.
First Drop Limited to 75,000 Cans
BAT has positioned Drop 1 as a limited release rather than an unrestricted permanent launch.
According to VELO’s official information, the first batch is limited to 75,000 cans. The planned sales period runs until February 2027 or until available stock is exhausted, whichever comes first.
The initial products are available through selected Swedish retailers, including Haypp and Snusbolaget.
Retail listings also show three VELO WRKS Box products corresponding to the same flavor combinations, with a scheduled release date of November 9, 2026. These listings carry the same stated pouch count and nicotine specifications. However, the retailers have not provided enough detail to establish exactly how the Box packaging differs from the standard Dual Can version.
The brand has not announced a fixed schedule or production quantity for future WRKS drops.
BAT Uses VELO WRKS to Collect Consumer Feedback
VELO describes WRKS as an innovation platform and a sister brand within its product portfolio. The stated purpose is to explore new concepts and develop products with input from consumers.
The official website includes a questionnaire covering several aspects of the range, including:
-
Opinions about the Dual Can packaging concept
-
Feedback on the paired flavor combinations
-
Preferences regarding flavor selection
-
Reactions to the overall packaging design
-
Suggestions for possible product improvements
This feedback-based approach gives BAT a way to evaluate the reception of a new format before deciding what might appear in later releases.
The first Drop therefore serves two purposes: introducing the dual-compartment concept to Swedish consumers and gathering information that may influence subsequent product development.
VELO WRKS Trademark Covers More Than Nicotine Pouches
Public EU trademark records show that British American Tobacco (Brands) Limited filed an application for the VELO WRKS trademark on March 18, 2026. The application number is 019332760, and registration was completed on July 7, 2026.
The trademark falls under Nice Classification Class 34. Its listed product categories include tobacco-free oral nicotine pouches, e-cigarettes and e-liquids, heated tobacco products, and conventional tobacco products.
However, a broad trademark registration does not confirm that BAT intends to launch VELO WRKS products in all those categories. The products confirmed in the Swedish launch are nicotine pouches.
What the VELO WRKS Launch Means for BAT
VELO WRKS represents a different approach to product development within the established VELO range. Instead of focusing exclusively on new flavor releases, BAT is testing a packaging format that brings two separate flavor options into one can.
The limited 75,000-can first release, scheduled sales period, and consumer questionnaire suggest that the company is treating WRKS as a controlled product-development initiative. Feedback from the Swedish market may help determine whether the Dual Can concept returns in future drops or appears in other markets.
For now, BAT has confirmed three combinations for Sweden, while the product lineup and launch plans beyond Drop 1 remain undisclosed.
