In September last year, Oppo had filed a patent for a new display design that looked like the iPhone X. In the previous month, the rumor had leaked image of the alleged Oppo R13 smartphone that sported a design like the iPhone X. The Oppo R13 was rumored to arrive as a successor phone for the Oppo R11 phone from last year. However, fresh information suggests that the company has reportedly decided to skip the R13 name as the number 13 is viewed as bad omen in many countries. Hence, it is speculated that the Oppo R13 may actually launch as Oppo R15. Amidst these rumors, a fresh hands-on photo along with some render of the alleged Oppo R15 have appeared.
The hands-on image shows that the alleged Oppo R15’s design resembles with the iPhone X. The notch present on the Oppo phone feature a frontal snapper, a sensor and an earpiece. The other renders show that it will be coming in color options like Black, Pink and Purple. The back view of the phone shows that it features a horizontally arranged dual camera module and not the vertically aligned one found on the iPhone X. The rumored Oppo 15 features a rear mounted fingerprint scanner.
The upcoming R series smartphones from Oppo have received 3C certification in China. The Oppo R11 and R11 Plus were the first phones to be powered by Snapdragon 660. Hence, it is speculated that the Oppo R15 and R15 Plus will be the first phones to be running on Snapdragon 670.
