Xiaomi will be launching the Mi MIX 2S flagship smartphone tomorrow and today Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has revealed some key information on it. He has also spilled out some details on the design of the phone.
According to Jun, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S will be arriving with a ceramic body that will be curved on all four sides. As previous reports have claimed, the Mi MIX 2S will be the first domestic smartphone from China to feature the Snapdragon 845 chipset. Jun has revealed that the top configuration model of the smartphone will be arriving with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
Xiaomi has reportedly worked with Qualcomm to optimize the performance of Mi MIX 2S. Fresh information reveals that it had built a research and development department in Santiago for it. He added that the Snapdragon 845 is very expensive. Its 17 percent VAT cost is as high as 500 Yuan ($79) which is around 3 times more than that of Snapdragon 660 SoC upper mid-range chipset.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S will include AI dual camera that can smartly detect scene and shoot slow motion videos. The exact camera configuration of its dual rear cameras are not known. It is expected to come with other features like AI unlock and wireless charging. It is speculated that the Mi MIX 2S will be costing around 3,299 Yuan ($522) at launch.
