Oneplus official has confirmed they will use top notch screen on Oneplus 6 smartphone, and other media has leaked part of its design, compared with iPhone X, the top notch area is narrower, but wider than that of Essential Phone, its official has leaked its specific dimension, 19.616mm x 7.687mm.
Today Oneplus technology CEO, Pete Lau has explained why to use such design on Oneplus 6, and claims it will be the most comfortable design in full view display.
He said due to middle part less availability, he doesn’t hope the front camera moves from its middle place, because it will affect face ID, oneplus previously even considers using pop-out design like that of VIVO Apex, but due to non-mature technology, they have to give up.
Lau also claims the groove design can take biggest advantage of the screen space, the top notch screen is the tendency in smartphone line, and it is easier to enhance its production.
As for Oneplus 6 specs, it is said it will have 6.28 inch FHD+ AMOLED screen, 2280*1080 resolution, powered by Snapdragon 845 Octa core 2.7GHz processor, coming with 20MP front camera, f/2.0 aperture, and 20MP+16MP dual rear camera, RAM 6GB ROM 128GB internal storage, built in 3450mAh battery, etc.
