Currently, there are over a dozen known ARC enemy types in ARC Raiders, with more expected to be added in future updates. To master the game’s progression and content, you need to understand how to deal with each type of robot.
If you’ve been playing ARC Raiders, you should already have a general understanding of the characteristics of all ARC enemies, but how do you defeat them more effectively? This time, we’ll focus on Leaper and detail the best strategies for dealing with it.
Leaper Introduction
As an ARC enemy, Leaper resembles a massive mechanical spider, its single red camera covering its entire face adding to its eerie and dangerous appearance.
Analyzing its movement patterns, Leaper excels at using its long, flexible mechanical limbs to leap and unleash short-range shockwaves to damage you. The difficulty is comparable to a beginner ARC Raiders boss fight.
Therefore, compared to truly dangerous bosses like Queen, Leaper isn’t too troublesome. Its large size means it can’t penetrate deep into buildings or narrow terrain, so you can utilize these advantages to your advantage. However, a friendly reminder: u would better buy some gear with ARC Raiders coins for sale before you go, just in case.
Besides encountering Leapers while exploring various maps, certain missions, weekly trials, and expeditions may require you to kill a certain number of Leapers, making them an indispensable part of ARC Raiders.
How To Quickly Complete Leaper Killing Missions?
If you need to kill some Leapers for the reasons mentioned above, we recommend prioritizing Spaceport map as your battleground.
More specifically, you need to find the central elevator in the center of the map, then travel northeast to find a bunker sandwiched between the elevator and the southern trench tower. This is the best target location to start farming Leapers.
Due to the bunker, this location is narrow and easy to defend, making it an excellent spot to hide and ambush Leapers, preventing them from approaching you by jumping. Furthermore, they lack ranged throwing abilities.
On this map, Leapers usually appear near the central elevator or Departure Building. You can decide whether to lure them to your ambush location or hold your ground and wait for them to approach, depending on your abilities.
It’s important to note that while this location is difficult for Leaper to penetrate, other real players may compete for the opportunity to defeat Leaper and obtain rare loot.
Therefore, to avoid unnecessary losses, it’s best to buy ARC Raiders items before entering the map, strengthening your character in multiple aspects such as weapons, armor, and supplies, preventing others from taking advantage of any openings.
The Best Strategy For Defeating Leaper
Whether fighting Leaper in Spaceport or any other map, unless it’s a chance encounter, your first step is to find cover. Based on this strategy, we’ll detail all the steps to defeat this robot.
1. Carry The Appropriate Weapons
Generally, the most effective weapon type against Leaper is a gun that uses heavy ammunition, such as Ferro or Anvil – provided you carry enough ammunition, because Leaper is large and killing one requires consuming a significant amount of ammunition.
Higher-level weapons and throwable explosives can also be considered, but the former is overkill for dealing with Leapers, and the latter will be difficult to aim at due to Leaper’s constant jumping.
Therefore, if backpack space is limited, it’s perfectly acceptable not to bring them.
2. Reinforce Cover
You can collect various scrap metal materials around your cover and pile them up to reinforce it. This not only further increases the distance between you and Leaper but also creates noise to warn other players when they approach.
If you have mines or other trap-type weapons, that’s even better. They can directly eliminate some players who maliciously approach you, allowing you to focus more on farming Leaper without being disturbed.
3. Draw Enemy Attention
While leaving cover to search for enemies is also an option, considering Leaper’s relatively high spawn rate, you can simply wait for it to appear from cover, then fire a single shot to attract its attention and make it rush to attack you.
Next, you need to stay in place and keep firing unless Leaper performs a charged attack, as this attack deals AoE damage. In this case, you should move away from the windows you’re using to fire from behind cover to avoid being hit.
The enemy’s weak points are its face (especially the eyes) and legs. The face is easier to aim at. Keep attacking its weak points until it’s knocked down. If you have teammates, this will be faster.
Note that Leaper might leave prematurely while you’re luring it. In this case, just keep shooting to provoke it, and it will continue to move closer, giving you a chance to shoot its face more accurately.
4. Evacuate As Quickly As Possible
Once Leaper is dead, it will no longer pose a threat, and you can loot as much as you want. The problem is that the nature of PvPvE means that unscrupulous individuals might try to steal your loot at any time.
Therefore, you need to quickly finish looting and then escape, preferably using Raider Hatch Key to leave immediately, unless you’re playing Night Raid mode. However, this mode is very helpful for completing your weekly trials because you can earn double points.
Of course, don’t panic if you encounter malicious players. Do your best to stall them and then find an opportunity to leave. However, if you’re really unlucky and your loot is stolen, there’s nothing you can do; that’s just how the game is.
That’s all for this introduction. Hopefully, it will help you accumulate game resources through farming Leaper! Have fun!
