Sanmeet Kochhar, vice president of HMD Global India and Middle East and North Africa, revealed that the Nokia X30 5G smartphone “will be launched in India soon”, but did not specify the time frame. HMD also promotes circular subscriptions, manufactured from recycled materials to extend the life of devices and reduce e-waste as people upgrade.
The metal frame of the Nokia X30 is made of 100% recycled aluminum, while the plastic back is made of 65% recycled material. Even the retail box is made from 70% recycled paper (all FSC certified). Of course, the charger is no longer included in the box, making it smaller and easier to transport.
The Nokia X30 5G phone features a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with an FHD+ panel (20:9) with a 90Hz refresh rate and 450 nits typical brightness (700 nits peak). Victus is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass. The phone features under-display fingerprint recognition and face unlock.
The rear camera also has Corning Gorilla Glass DX+ protection. Features a 50MP main camera (1/1.57-inch, 1.0µm native pixels, 4-in-1 with OIS) and a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera (123°, 1/3.06-inch). The selfie camera features a 16MP sensor (1.0µm native pixels, also supports 4-in-1).
Nokia X30 5G is equipped with a Snapdragon 695 chip and uses a 6nm process. There are two configurations to choose from 6GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB (UFS 2.2 storage). Built-in 4200mAh battery, charging power is 33W (USB-PD 3.0 PPS). The battery is expected to retain most of its capacity after 800 cycles. Supports USB-C 2.0, 5G (sub-6GHz) and dual nanoSIM (and available eSIM), Wi-Fi 6 (ax), Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and IR blaster. The dustproof and waterproof rating of the mobile phone body is IP67.
The Nokia X30 comes with what HMD calls the “3-3-3 Promise” – 3 OS updates, 3 years of security patches, and 3 years of extended warranty. The phone is pre-installed with the Android 12 system, so it can be upgraded to Android 15.
