Zidoo only very recently announced their 2 new TV Boxes, Zidoo A5 and A5S devices,based on the Amlogic S905X SoC. This means that come with 4K HDR, H.265 HEVC, VP9 and the price is really very affordable. Zidoo announced these two versions with S905X, when the one is with 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM (A5) and the other one with a more generous and up-to-date, if you ask me, 2GB/16GB combo (A5S). Interesting enough, this model won’t come with a external wi-fi antenna, wi-fi antenna is internal for A5S/A5. We are going to review now the A5S version, since this is much better to use.
Design
The Zidoo A5S box is made out of plastic. At the front we see a small LCD display wich shows the time or infor when you watch a movie. At the back we see the A/C, wlan, 2 x USB ports, card reader, optical, HDMI, reset port, AV.
Hardware
The Zidoo A5S features 64bit Processor S905X Cortex A53. The S905X supports more pixels and colors, so the image can be much more clearer and 4K HDR which delivers ultra-sharp image quality since it is and 4X sharper and is much better than last-generation 2K HDTVs with was only 2X the number of visible colors. Amlogic s905X is a low cost version of the well known Amlogic S905, at a lower operating frequency, but it has built-in stereo DAC, integrated Ethernet PHY, 4K VP9 and HDR10 & HLG support as we have mentioned and at the beginning .For GPU the A5S features a Penta-Core ARM Mali-450 which can handle the demands for graphics of the A5S very well. THe CPU is helped in A5S by the 2GB DDR3 and for internal storage has eMMC 16GB ROM. The memory and the internal storage is more than enough to operate the A5S without any problems and store images and video for offline use. The Zidoo A5S runs Android 6.0, which means it can take and Kodi 17.0 when it will come out in final version.

The Zidoo A5s due to the S905X features HDR (High Dynamic Range), so you can watch images with a much greater quality and much closer to the natural world.
