Igeekphone reported on January 6th that the technology media The Verge published a blog post today (January 6th) stating that at the 2026 CES exhibition, TCL launched two new products using the NXTPaper display technology: the smartphone 70 Pro and the tablet Note A1 which focuses on note-taking functions.
The most remarkable feature of the TCL NXTPaper 70 Pro phone is that it is equipped with a 6.9-inch NXTPaper 4.0 screen. This screen has a matte texture similar to that of an electronic ink screen, offering a more paper-like feel compared to traditional glossy screens.
To further enhance the “concentration” experience, TCL has reintroduced a feature called “Max Ink Mode” on this device. This mode combines the focus mode with a minimalist launcher, aiming to block distractions and “maximize” the user’s attention on the content itself.
In terms of hardware configuration, this device is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset and 8GB of memory, which is sufficient to handle daily usage. In terms of imaging, the 70 Pro features a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) for enhanced image quality. The device is IP68-rated for dust and water resistance and is priced at 339 euros in the European market (Note: The current exchange rate is approximately 2775 yuan).

Apart from mobile phones, TCL has also expanded its tablet product line and launched the Note A1 NXTPaper, which is a product with a unique positioning. This device is not a full-function tablet but is designed to compete with electronic paper devices like Remarkable, focusing on the note-taking scenario.
Note A1 has a 11.5-inch display and runs a simplified version of the Android operating system. To minimize distractions, the system only pre-installs a few applications such as Edge browser and Outlook, and does not provide the Google Play store. Additionally, this device only supports Wi-Fi connection and does not offer cellular data network functionality.
The core interaction of Note A1 is centered around the note interface. TCL has designed a “select and save” shortcut function for it, which enables the user to save the content into the “Inspiration Space”.
The accompanying T-Pen Pro stylus is another major selling point. It can provide corresponding tactile feedback based on the tools selected in the note-taking application (such as a pencil), simulating the real feeling of friction.
TCL plans to officially start shipping the Note A1 device at the end of February. The standard retail price of this device is set at $549 (approximately 3,843 yuan at the current exchange rate), but currently TCL is offering a pre-sale discount through the Kickstarter platform. Users can purchase it at a price of $419.
