Xiaomi will hold a new product launch conference in Chengdu on 19 September. The theme is “Mi 8 Youth Invincible”, and the Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth Edition will be released.
The news about Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth Edition has been exposed. It is reported that the back of the Smartphone is made of mirror glass and has a variety of color schemes. Among them, the popular gradient color is also in it, which is in line with the positioning of Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth Edition.
In its latest teaser on Weibo, Xiaomi has hinted at a device featuring a more accurate fingerprint sensor. Since earlier rumors have already confirmed that Xiaomi is planning to launch the Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint Edition soon, reports out of China suggest that the device will be making its debut on September 19, alongside the Mi 8 Youth Edition. Along with the Mi 8 Youth Edition and Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint Edition smartphones, Xiaomi has also teased the launch of limited edition Xiaomi NFC bracelets.
It will be running on an octa-core 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset clocked at 2.2 GHz with an Adreno 616 GPU. In terms of memory, the upcoming smartphone will be available in three configurations at launch in China – 4GB RAM + 32GB storage, 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage. Unlike the Mi 8 SE, however, the Mi 8 Youth Edition will have a microSD card slot, allowing further expansion up to 256GB.
In terms of imaging performance, the Mi 8 Youth Edition is rumored to be very similar to the Mi 8 SE. It will feature a 12MP + 5MP dual-camera setup at the rear with the primary sensor featuring Dual Pixel PDAF and a f/1.9 aperture. The secondary 5MP sensor is expected to be coupled with a f/2.0 aperture. While the rear cameras on the Mi 8 Youth Edition will be identical to the Mi 8 SE, it will sport a higher resolution selfie camera. Instead of a 20MP selfie camera, the Mi 8 Youth Edition will probably feature a 24MP AI selfie camera on the front.
