For the past few months we have seen leak after leak, and a lot of speculation as to what Xiaomi had in store for us on July the 27th. A few days ago we had confirmation of the Xiaomi Notebook, and now we have confirmation on the other device to be released on that same day, will be.After all the cryptic messages from Xiaomi, this new device will go by the name of the Xiaomi Redmi Pro.
A huge amount of speculation and rumor suggested the Redmi Note 4 or Redmi 4. However we at Igeekphone always said that We would not be surprised if Xiaomi would name the device something entirely different. Xiaomi has just opened up a new topic in the social media/micro blogging website, Weibo going by the title “Redmi Pro” stating on July 27th all will be unveiled about the Xiaomi Notebook and the the Redmi Pro. This time around, Xiaomi have not gone with a series number like Redmi note 3 or so on, and have simply called the device Redmi Pro.
This appears to be inline with their strategy of beginning to manufacture High End devices, and the name really does say it all. Xiaomi have been very aggressive in their pricing of their devices and we expect the same from the Redmi Pro. We did post about the Redmi Pro being spotted on Geekbench, and the specs where pretty impressive. Xiaomi have gone with the Helio X25 chipset, 4GB RAM and Android 6.0 Marshmallow and dual cameras at the rear.
What we are not clear about is whether these will be the same specs on the device when it is officially released. There have been a lot of rumours about Xiaomi being the first Chinese Manufacturer to use the Snapdragon 821 chip, Who knows perhaps we may see a base model using Helio X25 chipset and moving up to the Snapdragon 821 in the top rangeof the Xiaomi Redmi Pro series. One thing is for sure this is the 3rd anniversary of their hugely popular low cost devices, so get ready guys to get some real bang for your buck.
