- Reposition your bed. If you have a large room, your bed doesn’t need to lean up against the wall. If you add some space between the bed and the window, you’ll create a cosy reading spot. Sometimes when you move the bed around, you find new pockets of space within the room that you can utilise. So, get moving and see what happens.
- Rearrange your artwork.Artwork is important as it sets the mood of the room and completely changes the dynamic. Now, you have selected the art, but where to hang it up? You will have to decide whether to make art a feature piece or have it dotted around in new areas. Changing where art hangs can help dramatically in upgrading your bedroom.
- Cover your walls with tapestries.Tapestries are fantastic because not only do they make a bold statement, but they’re relatively cheap and they make your room super renter friendly. Tapestries can also be used on the floor if you ever change your mind too.
- Get rid of furniture you don’t need.Opt for smaller things that have multiple functions, like a desk that also functions as a nightstand. Or a smaller set of chester draws to create space other space. Now, if you remove old furniture you may have more room for plants and other mood-changing features.
- Hide your cords and disguise your router.Often people hang or hide their cords under the bed and desk, but if that isn’t possible for you, maybe you need to get creative. Hang your cords in a wire basket to change the look the room or wrap it in wire to hide it up against a well.

- Add Your Personality. When decorating your home, it comes a time when you must stop and forget all the rules for a minute. Do something unique, personal and whimsical, add something you love without regard to style. If you’re unsure, start to experiment. Like most things in life, interior decoration is about trial and error. So, if you don’t try, you’ll never know. Create a shrine of your favourite band or sports team, or better yet a shrine for you family and see where that takes you.
- Use a Fancy Throw Blanket. Have you had an eye on that fancy sheepskin throw blanket? Now is the time to get it and make your bedroom look cosy and a tad classier. Add in a couple of new expensive pillows, and the mood in your room will change in an instant.
- Elevate the bed. Get bed raisers to elevate the bed so you can even add under the bed storage. Alternatively use a bed frame with a trundle, like this one hereto change the vantage point of your mattress. Depending on the type of home you are living in, whether it is with friends or with your family, you may opt for a different type of elevation.
