5 Common Problems That You Might Face on VIZIO TV

Brady CottonBy Brady CottonMay 3, 2022

Vizio Smart TVs have world-renowned technology that gives the customers the best image quality available in an affordable Smart TV range. SmartCast, the system software, is also featured in Vizio TVs, which adds to the smart feature of the devices.

By incorporating hi-tech systems like Amazon’s Echo, Apple Homekit, and Google Home, you can utilize a Vizio TV to browse your favorite applications, cast from your smartphone, and manage your watching experience. However, despite their intelligent systems, Vizio TVs occasionally fail to function properly and generate several faults when used.

Many Vizio TV customer complaints revolve around the constant flickering of the device’s screen, the unsuccessful loading of SmartCast, and the inability of the TV to display images despite it being switched on.

Fortunately, a user manual and guide come along with Vizio TVs that you may consult to find a solution to your problem. But if your problem persists, then this guide will be useful.

VIZIO TV Guide To Troubleshoot All Your Problems

Listed below are some of the most common issues faced by users on VIZIO TVs and how to resolve them –

    1. VIZIO Smart TVs Input Have Stopped Working

There are two main input sources in a VIZIO smart TV – the HDMI and USB inputs. The HDMI connects gaming consoles, Blu-ray players, streaming devices, cable boxes, etc. The USB input can connect the keyboard, mouse, Amazon Firestick, etc. With the VIZIO remote, you can easily switch your input and use the devices that you have connected to the input systems.

There are times when the inputs provided in the VIZIO Smart TVs stop working, or you cannot change the mode of input. So what do you do in that case? Often resetting the device is a foolproof solution. And you should know How to Reset VIZIO TV if you have one.

There are three ways in which you can fix this problem –

    • Soft Resetting of your Device: A soft reset erases the memory, enables any leftover charge to drain, and resets the TV, which can quickly resolve the majority of the device’s issues. You have to turn off the device and leave it off for a few seconds.
    • Hard Resetting of Your VIZIO TV: A factory reset restores your TV to its original state and deletes any downloaded material from your TV. So, use the method with caution. To factory reset your device, click on the ‘Menu’ button on your VIZIO Smart TV remote. Go to the ‘System’ section and then click ‘Reset.’ Then you can click on the factory reset button and bring your device to the original state.
    • Updating the Firmware: Attempting to stay to the most recent version of the firmware aids in the resolution of issues existing in the prior firmware. As a result, keeping your television up to date is essential. You can easily update your TV by going to the ‘Menu’ section, navigating to ‘System,’ and then opting for ‘Update.’
    1. Your VIZIO TV Won’t Switch On

If your VIZIO TV won’t turn on, the problem might be a faulty connection to the power socket.

To begin diagnosing, disconnect your television and plug it back in after a minute. Check that it is securely plugged in. Then, using the power switch located behind the TV screen, turn it on. Look for any additional appliances that can interfere with the power usage.

If no other gadgets are plugged in, and it still would not power on, this is when problems get serious. A faulty component within the power supply of your television may be the source of the problem. At this time, you must take your Vizio TV to an approved repair facility so that it may be properly fixed.

    1. Your VIZIO TV Takes a Lot Of Time To Load

When your VIZIO TV takes a lot of time to load its content, it means that your VIZIO TV slows down, and you might need to clear up some space or update the applications and firmware of your TV. Another reason could be a disruptive internet connection, causing the lag on your smart TV.

    • Update Your Smart TV: Once your smart TV is fully operational, you must adjust the settings of your applications and download all frequent updates. Updates maintain your Smart TV in good operating order and might add intriguing additional features to your TV’s versatility. Installing all pending updates is sometimes all that is required to prevent your TV from slowing down.
    • Insufficient Storage: Inadequate storage is one of the key causes of your VIZIO Smart TV slowing down. Having no storage or little capacity left in your TV’s RAM might be a major cause of the slow functioning of your VIZIO Smart TV. To keep your TV running smoothly, clear its memory on a regular basis. You may need to clean your caches and free up space before installing new updates in rare cases.
    • Your TV Model is Outdated: Another potential explanation for your VIZIO TV slowing down is the inevitable truth that your equipment is old and obsolete. If this is the case, you may have little choice but to update your TV model or accept the situation as is. You may also contact VIZIO customer service and ask for assistance.
    1. Your VIZIO TV Screen Is Flickering

To repair the flickering of your Vizio TV screen, disconnect all connected devices and cables and wait for 30 seconds before connecting them back to the TV. Additionally, check the ‘Advanced Video Settings’ that you will find in the Menu section and disable the following options: Backlight Control, Ambient Lighting, and Advanced Adaptive Luma.

If the TV continues to flicker, try to turn off the television and unplug the TV from the wall outlet. When the TV is still disconnected, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, then try to re-plug the TV to the power outlet and then restart the television.

    1. Your Vizio TV Is Switched On, But the Screen is Blank

The most prevalent issue with Vizio TVs is a blank screen. Fortunately, this problem is a simple one.

Simply turn off the television and unhook the power line. Wait for a minute or two, then reconnect your VIZIO TV and turn it on. This method frequently solves the problem.

However, if the issues persist, you will have to examine the power source within the TV. Another possibility is faulty display-related equipment. It is safer to contact or take your TV to an authorized repair facility to check for all of these concerns.

    In Conclusion

Several causes might cause your Vizio TV to cease operating from time to time. It is possible that your VIZIO TV may continue to flicker, remain on without going off, or fail to connect to Wi-Fi.

A factory reset can help you address various issues with your VIZIO Smart TV. Also, update the firmware on your Vizio TV to troubleshoot it.

If all of the above means fail, contact customer service for more assistance.
