Recently we saw how AMD plans to recover its Athlon series, being a low-end APU of Raven Ridge to compete against the Intel Pentium and Celeron. In addition to that, it has recently been seen that the Ryzen 5 2500X and Ryzen 3 2300X have appeared in the lists of AMD motherboard manufacturers. Two of the processors that consumers have been waiting for since the launch of Zen +, since, during its launch, only the mid-high and high-end processors of the series came out.
Ryzen 5 2500X and Ryzen 3 2300X
For now, all we had to fill the gap in the middle range by AMD were its Raven Ridge APUs, since with the release of Ryzen 2000 no processor left to occupy that position. That’s because during the first release of Ryzen 2000 only the Ryzen 7 2700 and 2700X and the Ryzen 5 2600 and 2600X came out on the market together with the X470 chipset. Now that’s going to start to change, since, they’ve already seen the first data of the new Ryzen 5 2500X and Ryzen 3 2300X, where it has been seen that there is a 100 MHz frequency improvement with respect to its first generation versions.
This information has been removed from the ASRock website, more specifically, it has been looking at the list of supported CPUs of its motherboard AB350M Pro 4, in which you can see information about these new processors. As the Ryzen 5 2500X will have 4 cores and 8 threads, a base frequency of 3.6 GHz and 2MB of cache, like the Ryzen 3 2300X will have 4 cores and 4 threads, a base frequency of 3.5 GHz and 2 MB of cache, having both a TDP of 45W, for now, the turbo frequencies of both processors are unknown.
Versions with less TDP
Another thing that has been seen on the ASRock website under the list of supported processors for its AB350M Pro 4, is that AMD plans to bring to market two versions of two existing processors of the Ryzen 2000 series, with one more TDP low. We are talking about the Ryzen 7 2700E and the Ryzen 5 2600E in which both will have a TDP of 45W and the same number of core and threads as their normal versions, but with lower base frequencies and, for now, it is unknown what the turbo frequencies thereof.
To offer these 8 cores and 16 threads the Ryzen 7 2700E will have a lower base frequency than the Ryzen 7 2700 and the 2700X, with 2.8 GHz in order to be able to lower both the TDP and leave it at 45W. The Ryzen 5 2600 E, however, has not been so affected, since it has a base frequency of 3.1GHz, maintaining its 6 cores and 12 threads. It should be noted that, as with the Ryzen 5 2500X and the Ryzen 3 2300X, the turbo frequencies of these processors, for now, are unknown.
This is all the information that is known about the new processors that are to come from AMD in the absence of an official statement.
