When Xiaomi announced the 3 terminals that made up its new high-end family there was one that stood out for its benefits, and also for its controversial design. The Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition is the first of the company with fingerprint sensor under the screen and with a transparent design. Of course, it was not put on sale at the same time as the Xiaomi Mi 8 and Mi 8 SE and today we have known the day when we can buy it.
In the published image, which indicates the date, Mi 8 Explorer Edition is available from July 24th and we also see the price at which the only version of the same will be sold: 3699 yuan. To the change, they are about $553 although when we buy it in import stores it is possible that it reaches around $630-$690.
It is a high-cost smartphone to be a Xiaomi but the technology it has is quite differentiating. Not only the fingerprint sensor stands out, but also the infrared facial recognition that is more effective than the Xiaomi Mi 8.
It is powered by the flagship Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor clocking 2.8 GHz coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The Mi 8 Explorer Edition is equipped with a 6.21-inch S-AMOLED display with a resolution of 2248 x 1080 pixel and an 18.7:9 aspect ratio. In the camera department, Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition comes with a dual rear camera setup which has 12MP + 12MP configuration with f/1.8 + f/2.4. This is assisted by a 20MP f/2.0 front camera.
It runs on MIUI 10 based Android 8.1 Oreo. depth customizations and its lights are kept on by a 3000 mAh battery with 20W Fast charging (Quick Charge 4+), a 3D facial scanner, thus imitating Apple’s technology implemented on the iPhone X. This smartphone contains a transparent back with a model of its components. These would be the technical differences with the normal Mi 8.
We hope that Xiaomi will bring Europe to this model although for the moment nothing of this has been confirmed, just as we continue waiting for the confirmation of the arrival of the Xiaomi Mi 8 and Mi 8 SE to the western markets.
