As expected, Huawei introduced today in China a smartphone called Maimang 7. The mid-range model in the European market was released a little earlier as Mate 20 Lite, although there are some differences. One of the main features of the smartphone is four cameras.

The Smartphone features a 6.3-inch Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 2.5D curved glass, and a pixel density of 409ppi. Huawei has opted to offer a notched display, resulting in a higher screen-to-body ratio of 81 percent, compared to the 76.5 percent in its predecessor.

The bottom of the fuselage mounted a microphone, 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C interface, and speakers.

The top of the fuselage is a noise reduction microphone

On the right side, there is the power button and the volume rockers on it.

On the left side, you will find the SIM card slot. While on the side, on the left side there is a dedicated hybrid sim slot to put two SIM Card or one sim and a microSD.

    Standard 18W power adapter

Under the hood, the Smartphone has a Kirin 710 octa-core processor, coupled with Mali-G51 MP4 GPU. This is Huawei’s first 12nm chipset which should offer a significant improvement in power consumption and performance compared to the 16nm Kirin 659.

The Kirin 710 consists of four Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.7GHz. The GPU is an ARM Mali G5 which is said to be 1.3 times better than that of the Kirin 659 and 1x more energy efficient.

The Huawei Maimang 7 packs 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage and also supports microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 256GB. The phone is running Android Oreo operating system out-of-the-box with the EMUI 8.2 custom interface.

Huawei Maimang 7 flaunts a dual-camera setup and a fingerprint scanner on the back side, camera featuring a 20MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP secondary sensor for depth sensing.

There’s also a dual-camera setup on the front side, consisting of a 24MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor. The camera on the phone comes with AI-powered features such as scene recognition, smart photo composition guide, among others. The front-facing camera also supports the Face Unlock feature.

The smartphone measures 158.3? 75.3? 7.6 mm and weighs 172 grams. Connectivity options on the device include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS + GLONASS.

The device also comes with the GPU Turbo technology that enhances the phone’s performance. The Smartphone is powered by a 3750mAh battery with fast charging technology support. Huawei Maimang 7 is available in black, blue and gold colors. The price for it is $349. Sales will begin on September 15, but for now, pre-orders are accepted.
