Asus is currently the 6th largest PC maker in the world, but the company is not very prominent when it comes to the smartphone market. However, this brand has proven that they are capable of producing some pretty solid devices. Recently, the three prototypes of the ZenFone 6 series have suddenly leaked online, giving a general look before launching next year.
Looking at the photo above, it can be said that this is the most interesting design prototype of all three prototypes that we have today. It claims that Samsung is not the only company developing smartphones with “holes” on the screen.
Accordingly, Asus “hack” a small hole in the upper left corner of the screen and put the selfie camera sensor into it. Thus, the bezel on the top of the machine is very thin, while the bottom bezel is still a bit thick. The phone also has a dual-lens camera placed vertically on the back and still holds a 3.5mm audio jack.
Moving on to the second model, it is fair to say that it has an overall look that is not entirely impressive. However, this prototype is also quite unique due to the design of the “droplet screen”, but placed in the upper right corner of the screen.
With such a design, the selfie camera is again placed in the notch and therefore, the bezel on top or even the bezel on the bottom of the machine is made quite thin. In addition, it also has a dual-lens camera and a fingerprint sensor on the back.
The last prototype looks quite familiar, but not very interesting. This version has a “water droplet” design similar to the recently launched Oppo. Also, when it comes to design in the dorsal aspect, its only difference compared to the current ZenFone 5Z is only the third camera sensor.
Since these three devices are simply prototypes, so there is no guarantee that all three or even just one of the three devices are released. However, these prototypes are quite interesting and through that, we can see how smartphone manufacturers are developing the idea of a “hole” screen. Considering the relatively low price of the ZenFone devices, the released smartphone models will likely resemble the final prototype rather than the first two prototypes.
