Samsung is still struggling with problems related to the first folding smartphone Galaxy Fold, but this does not bother him in planning the next edition of the device. The latest patent documentation shows that Galaxy Fold 2 will provide support for the S Pen.
The latest sketches and patent descriptions were obtained by LetGoDigital, a specialist in this field, which also prepared probable device visualizations. The documentation was submitted on 14 August at the European patent office EUIPO and the world WIPO, and less than two weeks later, so very soon, on 26 August, it was officially published by these offices. It is also complemented by an application submitted in the United States.
This new Galaxy Fold 2 would be accompanied by an S-Pen, that is, it will have a dedicated storage compartment, just like the Galaxy Note. The designs that accompany these patents reveal that the touch pen can work with both the folded and unfolded terminal.
In addition, the user can drag content with the pencil from one side of the screen to another, in both states, both folded and unfolded. According to previous reports, it is believed that the deployed screen of the Galaxy Fold 2, could reach 8 inches.
It is believed that Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 could be presented during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona that will take place from February 24 to 27, 2020. This launch would come accompanied by the new Galaxy S11 and possibly some smartphone from the Galaxy A series of 2020. Next year It could be an important turning point for Samsung, as it is believed that the company will merge the Galaxy S series with the Galaxy Note family to launch a single flagship a year.
