    Xiaomi Mi2 10000mAh power bank vs Chuwi hi-power 10050mAh – Review and comparison

    We know that Xiaomi is the number one seller in powerbanks worldwide. We have review in the past the first version of Xiaomi 10000mAh powerbank vs Chuwi hi-power 10050mAh and we have seen both powerbanks their abilities and features. Now, Xiaomi on the 18th of October, officially launched a new powerbank, Mi2 10000mAh powerbank. The most important feature of this powerbank is the upgraded lithium polymer battery (by ATL / Lishen) and that now it supports two-way fast charge (maximum input 18W, maximum output 15W). So let us see how the Chuwi hi-power 10050mAh will manage against the new version of the Xiaomi Mi2 Powerbank.

    Design

    Xiaomi Mi2 powerbank is created form a single piece of aluminium alloy. It has a 180° arc and the ergonomic design that has, allows your hands to hold it easily and has a better grip compared to the first generation powerbank. Xiaomi in this new version of the powerbank, is not using anymore the USB Type-C input port that has used at the Mi Power Bank Pro and has replaced it with a micro USB input port. You can still find as in all xiaomi powerbanks, the 4-LED lights indicating the amount of charge left and we can see and a power button at the far edge of the front panel of the powerbank. The Xiaomi Mi2 powerbank comes in dark grey and silver colors. As a model it is refereed as PLM02ZM. Xiaomi Mi2 powerbank is 1/3 thinner from the first generation and its dimensions are 130 x 71 x 14.1mm and weights only 217g.

    Chuwi hi-power 10050mAh on the other hand weights 195gr and its dimensions are 103.5 x 22.8 x 60.9 mm, so it’s lighter form Xiaomi but not smaller as it was from the first generation powerbank. Chuwi comes out in black, white and green, has also leds in the front panel showing  the amount of charge left and there is also a power button on the side of the front panel of the powerbank. Chuwi also uses a Micro USB input port, featuring Quick Charge 3.0 and a USB-A Output featuring Quick charge 3.0.

    Features

    The new and most important feature in the new version of the Xiaomi Mi2 powerbank is the 2-way fast charge technology which was first presented in the Mi Power Bank Pro. This feature allows you to charge your phone quickly, if it supports fast charge and also recharge the power bank quickly as well. Xiaomi Mi2 powerbank provides 9 types of protection including temperature protection, input and output high voltage protection, short circuit protection, high current output protection, battery overcharge protection, and a reset function which lets you reset the circuit if the power bank doesn’t work by pushing the power button and returning it to working mode. In charge of these protections is the Texas Instrument chip that the powerbank has.

    Chuwi Hi-power powerbank features Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0, which can save you time because of the faster charging of your mobile. And the chuwi powerbank supports charging and discharging simultaneously and has 7 built-in protections, like temperature, input over-voltage protection, over-voltage protection, short-circuit protection, input the counter-attack protection, charge-discharge protection, reset protection, DC output over-current protection and batteries PTC protection.

    Xiaomi Mi2 powerbank battery type is of ATL High Density Lithium Polymer. Features a 10000mAh 3.85v/38.5Wh capacity with rated capacity of 6900mAh. Input has 5V/2A 9V/12V Max 18W and output has 5V/2.4A 9V/12V Max 15W with conversion rate >90%. Charging time is about 4.2 hours (18W charger, stanard charging cable) or about 6.2 hours (10W charger, stanard charging cable). You must take under consideration that 18W charger means that supports output DC 5.0V / 2.0A 9.0V / 2.0A 12V / 1.5A and 10W charger means that supports output DC 5.0V / 2.0A.

    Chuwi has a capacity range of above 10000mAh. The max capacity in mAh is 10050mAh. For connection type uses a Micro USB. The battery used in the powerbank is a Li-ion type Battery . It has 5V 2A, 9V 2A, 12V 1.5A input and 5 – 6V 3A, 6 – 9V 2A, 9 – 12V 1.5A output.

    We are spectators of a very big battle, between two almost equal opponents. Xiaomi Mi2 powerbank comes with an upgraded lithium polymer battery that now it supports two-way fast charge (maximum input 18W, maximum output 15W). Chuwi hi-power 10050mAh on the other hand features Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0, which can save you time because of the faster charging of your mobile and also supports charging and discharging simultaneously.
