Meizu 18 Series Got Flyme 9 OTA Update

Meizu held events on March 2 and 3 to officially unveil Flyme 9 and its annual flagship Meizu 18 series phone. Both Meizu 18 and Meizu 18 Pro are equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and Samsung E4 Super AMOLED screen, with a resolution of 3200×1440 and a peak brightness of 1300nit.

At the press conference, Meizu said that the screen of the phone could not be enabled at the same time with 2K+120Hz, but in response to the outcry from consumers, Meizu announced that the feature would be unlocked soon and will be introduced in subsequent OTA upgrades.

We have previously obtained the media version of Meizu 18 Pro phone. Today, Meizu officially pushed Flyme 9.0.1.0a system update to the phone, which unlocked the 120Hz refresh rate and QHD + resolution double opening.

The size of this update is 2.43GB. After Meizu 18 PRO phone was updated and restarted, 120Hz and QHD+ were successfully opened in the Settings. From the perspective of experience, 526PPI pixel density combined with high refresh rate makes the subjective feeling of mobile phone screen more smooth and delicate, giving full play to the performance of this OLED screen.

We found that the battery life of the mobile phone has been improved after the update, and the experience is better. Officials say the update also optimizes heat issues in some scenes and improves game stability.

Flyme 9.0.1.0a is currently only being tested for the media version of Meizu 18 series, but it is expected that the OTA upgrade will be rolled out to all users soon.

In addition, Meizu has also released a poster, which states that the flagship Meizu 17 series will launch the Flyme 9 system with zero advertising, zero push and zero pre-installed in May 2021.
