Huawei Mate 50 Could be the Brand’s First With an LTPO Display

Although we talk more and more about the new Huawei P50 Series in recent weeks, the first interesting information about the next mate is starting to emerge. Indeed, it seems that Huawei Mate 50 will be equipped with an LTPO display, not published for the brand.

According to some leaks, we know that in addition to the confirmation of the Kirin 9000 chipset, for the series Mate 50 we will have a debut on the display side for Huawei. In fact, it seems that a panel could be present on the next top series LTPO, which as we know is a technology OLED that uses polycrystalline oxide, a low temperature, therefore, is the replacement of the silicon used in previous technology LTPS.

What does adopting this solution mean for the tones di Mate 50 First of all, an energy-saving is important, even from the 50% less. In addition, there is the possibility of the refresh rate to the surprising 1 Hz also seen on the OnePlus 9 Pro In short, a very interesting technology, which is exactly in a mix between LTPS technology and the poco used but always appreciated IGZO technology (indium, gallium and zinc oxide).

Besides, it is also reported that the Huawei P50 smartphones will use the Kirin 9000 mobile system-on-chip from its own HiSilicon division. Traditionally, new chipsets debut in the Mate series, and then six months later are also used in the P line. In the case of chipsets, the company could stock up on finished products even before the next sanctions came into force (September 15). Or, perhaps Huawei hopes that TSMC will also receive a license and resume production of custom processors.

We add that Qualcomm and MediaTek also applied for licenses that would allow them to cooperate with Huawei. Therefore, the Chinese company is unlikely to face a shortage of chipsets for the production of its smartphones.

In short, while we are still a long way from getting any concrete information for everything related to Huawei Mate 50, we can already realize that it will become a premium smartphone in all respects. The official announcement of the Huawei P50 series smartphones is expected to take place in the first half of 2021.
