Here is a compact drone that you can easily throw and launch from your car. The Walkera T210 Mini Drone is smart enough to follow you and offers 4K recording and perspective shooting. It can fly for up to 30 minutes. As this video shows, this mini drone can circle your vehicle as you drive.
Characteristics
The Walkera T210 Mini is a very small device, yet it measures 167.4*217.8*57 mm (expand); 143*82.8*57mm (foldable) and weighs 249 grams. It is equipped with a 3-axis mechanical gimbal for image stabilization, based on a Hasselblad 48MP 4K camera built on a 1/2.26-inch CMOS matrix with f/2.6 aperture and 83° field of view.
The camera shoots in 4000 x 3000 pixels in Jpeg, and films in 4K at 30 frames per second and 1080p at 60 fps, with a maximum bit rate of 50Mbps.
The battery is a 2200mAh proprietary 4S model which, according to Walkera, provides 30 minutes of flight time. The data sheet indicates that the device is capable of flying up to 90 km/h!
A classic radio control
The Walkera T210 Mini is piloted with the WKRC-H9 radio control, a fairly classic model with 2 joysticks, buttons, and control wheels. It is to be used with a smartphone for video feedback, telemetry, settings, and control of automated flight modes.
Among these modes, there is an Orbit for a circle around a target, waypoints to follow waypoints, RTH in case of loss of radio and video link or on demand, target tracking according to several scenarios, and a Timelapse mode.
An unusual remote control
The Walkera T210 Mini can also be controlled with the WK-V8 Smart Voice Controller radio control. It’s a stick that looks a bit like a hand-held camera, with a small integrated 1.54-inch color screen, with a resolution of 240 x 240 pixels. It allows to control the drone with hand movements. It also listens to you: you can give it voice commands to go up and down, move right and left, move forward and backward.
The radio link
It is based on a 2.4 GHz Walkera protocol which, according to the manufacturer, provides a range of 5 km. The data sheet does not indicate whether the radio link complies with the regulations of the country in which the drone is used – which reduces its chances of being distributed in Europe.
Throw it
This mini drone supports “One Throw To Fly” rolling take-offs! Here is Walkera’s description of this feature: ” Once the GPS position has been found, tilt the front of the drone down for a few seconds until it beeps. Launch mode is on, launch the drone as high and flat as possible, but not down. The motors will automatically arm and the aircraft will hover.
