According to the Kemerovo Customs Press Service, the Joint Security Bureau of the Tomsk Customs Service and the traffic police seized a large number of unmarked e-cigarettes. The shipment of e-cigarettes totaled more than 7,000 and was valued at more than 6.5 million rubles.
According to the press Service, in an office of the Tomsk Commercial Company, law enforcement officers found more than 7,000 unlabeled e-cigarettes with a total value of more than 6.5 million rubles.
According to preliminary information from the investigation department, smugglers have established an international e-cigarette supply channel, and a large number of illegal imports of unlabeled e-cigarettes have been shipped from China to Russia. The cigarettes were then sent to retail outlets in the Tomsk region.
These products have been sent for expert testing and the results show that the nicotine content is excessive and poses a risk to the life and health of consumers.”
According to Article 338 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, “Smuggling of alcoholic and/or tobacco products,” a crime punishable by up to 12 years in prison.
