As per the State Intellectual Property Office’s official website, Beijing Xiaomi Mobile Software Co., Ltd. has been granted a patent today for an innovative “concealed camera electronic device with a hidden camera.” Xiaomi’s New Foldable Phone comprises a compact housing with a camera module and a retractable reflective component. The reflective element is designed to emerge from the housing through an opening. It is crucial in capturing images by reflecting light to the camera module. This novel arrangement safeguards the camera module, optimizes space utilization, and enhances pixel count.
The increasing trend towards full-screen displays in mobile terminals has led to a demand for innovative solutions to accommodate front cameras without compromising the screen-to-screen ratio. Consequently, the market has witnessed the emergence of electronic devices with concealed cameras.
Traditional lifting cameras face limitations, such as restricted space and lower pixel quality. Moreover, the camera’s flexible circuit board is susceptible to damage during the sliding process. The need for lifting mechanisms also results in longer circuit boards, higher costs, and a poor space utilization rate for the camera module.
