Some analyses point out that if the outer screen is designed to be more slender and close to the shape of traditional mobile phones, the inner screen will be more square when unfolded. This proportion is rather awkward for usage scenarios such as video playback and split-screen multitasking.
Conversely, if the inner screen adopts a rectangular ratio that is more suitable for split-screen operation, it will inevitably lead to the outer screen becoming wider or smaller in size, and the user experience of the outer screen will also deviate from users’ cognitive habits of traditional mobile phones.
Returning to the iPhone Fold, it is reported that the internal screen ratio of this device is close to 4:3. This design indicates that Apple is more inclined towards the second product concept mentioned above. The 4:3 internal screen ratio enables Apple to more easily transplant the mature multitasking functions of the iPadOS system to the foldable screen.

If it is in a folding form, the iPhone Fold feels more like a small-screen phone used in daily life.
