Igeekphone reported on February 5th: The technology media Mac World released a blog post yesterday (February 4th) stating that information from accessory manufacturers indicates that Apple is expected to release the iPhone 17e through a press release on February 19th (Thursday).
Regarding the release date, Igeekphone reported that Apple usually chooses to release new products on Monday or Tuesday (occasionally on Wednesday). However, February 19th is Thursday, which is contrary to Apple’s release pattern. Moreover, the release date of iPhone 16e is also February 19th (in 2025).
In terms of changes, it is reported that the iPhone 17e has been equipped with the MagSafe magnetic wireless charging function, with a maximum power of up to 25W. In contrast, the previous generation iPhone 16e only supports the slower 7.5W Qi wireless charging standard and completely lacks the MagSafe function.
In terms of appearance, the back of this device is expected to continue with a single-camera design, and the top of the screen will still retain the “bezel” shape (while previous reports suggested it would be upgraded to the “Dynamic Island”). The functionality of the Dynamic Island may need to be refined for another one or two generations before it is rolled out to the e-series.
In terms of configuration, apart from the expected adoption of Apple’s next-generation C1 baseband, considering the release of the new AirTag, Apple is highly likely to equip the iPhone 17e with U1 or U2 ultra-wideband (UWB) chips to support the “precise location” function.
