Geekbench score of the Apple M5 Max chip has been revealed: single-core performance exceeds that of the Ryzen 9 9950X 3D, and multi-core performance is higher than that of the M3 Ultra.
Igeekphone reported on March 6th that the 16-inch MacBook Pro with the M5 Max chip was found in the Geekbench performance testing database today, indicating that Apple has once again broken the performance record.
According to the report by MacRumors today, the M5 Max (with 18-core CPU) achieved a multi-core score of 29,233 in this test, surpassing the 27,726 score of the M3 Ultra (with 32-core CPU), making it the currently most powerful Apple Silicon chip. It has also surpassed all consumer-grade PC processors in the Geekbench database.
Overall, the M5 Max is approximately 5% faster than the M3 Ultra and 14-15% faster than the M4 Max.
And in the single-core benchmark test, the M5 Max achieved a score of 4268. This result is comparable to that of the standard version of the M5 chip in the 14-inch MacBook Pro, and even surpasses the 3395 points of the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D.
In the Metal graphics test, the M5 Max (with a 40-core GPU) conducted two runs, yielding scores of 218,772 points and 232,718 points respectively. Compared to the score of the M3 Ultra, it was approximately 5-10% lower, but it was 20% higher than that of the M4 Max.
Overall, the M5 Max chip has a CPU performance improvement of approximately 15% compared to the M4 Max, and a GPU performance improvement of about 20%. This is largely consistent with Apple’s official promotion.
