Igeekphone News, July 15th: Anthonie Spence, a spokesperson for ASUS, confirmed that the ROG Ally will independently launch a new handheld gaming console with an OLED screen, and there will be no need to pair it with AR glasses when purchasing.
Previously, ASUS launched the ROG XBOX Ally X20 Bundle at COMPUTEX 2026, bundling the OLED version of the handheld console with gaming glasses for sale. Many players who wanted the OLED version but did not need the glasses were left to wait and see.
Now ASUS has confirmed that an independent version will be launched. Anthony Spence said: “We are actively discussing the release plan for the new Ally independent version. Please stay tuned for further announcements.”
This OLED version handheld console is equipped with an extremely luxurious configuration. It features a 7.4-inch FHD 120Hz OLED screen, an anti-reflection panel, a peak HDR brightness of 1400 nits, a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and supports Dolby Vision.
Equipped with the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, it features an upgraded TMR joystick, ergonomic keys, and a four-way/eight-way deformable D-Pad. The feel is even better than that of the previous generation.
