On the territory of China, the strange and mysterious producer Smartisan works. Certain skills in the creation of mobile phones the company has reached, but outside the domestic market has not stepped. The manufacturer once again decided not to waste time and pompously held a presentation in China, where he presented the flagship Smartisan R1.
Smartisan R1 is the new top-of-the-range Android smartphone from the traditional Chinese company. It has a diagonal display of 6.17 inches, FHD + resolution and “atypical” 18.7: 9 aspect ratio (effective resolution: 2.242 x 1.080 pixels). The technology is IPS in-cell, and there is a circular (notch) style Essential Phone indentation, which includes only the camera, somehow camouflaged by the always black notification bar.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, RAM can reach the beauty of 8GB, while the internal storage (UFS 2.1) even 1TB! There are also less “extreme” configurations – 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage. The battery is a 3600 mAh unit, with wireless charging support (10 Watt) and quick QuickCharge 4.0.
The style of the smartphone reflects current trends: very small edges on three sides and a slightly more pronounced frame at the bottom. The side frame is in aluminum, while the back is also in glass – in short, the tradition of the “glass sandwich” continues, on which Smartisan has always focused a lot. On the back is also the fingerprint scanner, decorated with the company logo.
On the back is also the dual camera: the sensors are both Sony, IMX363, and IMX350, respectively from 12MP (aperture f / 1.75) and 20MP (aperture f / 1.8), with both optical and electronic stabilization, dual LED flash and PDAF. The front camera has another IMX363, but with a resolution of 24MP and aperture is f / 2.0.
The operating system is based on Android 8.0 Oreo, with proprietary personalization Smartisan OS 6.0. By the combination of all the characteristics, the price tags for the novelty could not be low: 6GB / 64GB – $549, 6GB / 128GB – $ 627, 8GB / 128GB – $706 and 8GB / 1TB – $ 1389. Smartisan R1 is available in two colors: black and white. The latter is only provided for the second and third variants.
