    Android 14 Beta 4 update Released, Available for Downloading for Pixel phones/Fold/Tablet

    Users will need to sign up for the Android Beta program and will automatically receive over-the-air (OTA) updates for Android 14 Beta 4. Eligible devices include the Pixel 4a 5G, 5, 5a, 6, 6 Pro, 6a, 7, 7 Pro, 7a, as well as the latest addition to the Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet series devices.

    Fixed issues reported by developers:

    Fixed a system issue that caused notifications to stop showing and “Quick Settings” tiles to stop working until the device reboots.

    Fixed a system issue that sometimes causes VoIP applications to stop recording audio when the screen is locked or the application is placed in the background.

    Fixed an issue where the title of the currently playing song would suddenly disappear or be replaced with other information when switching the device from always display mode to lock screen.

    Fixed sometimes preventing the device from charging, or allowing the device to charge but incorrectly reporting a problem with the connected charging cable or accessory.

    Fixed a system issue that sometimes caused Android system intelligence service to crash.

    Other issues resolved:

    Fixed an issue that caused the CredentialManager registry to fail when using multiple sets of credentials.

    Fixed an issue where the HealthConnect API would return a null pointer exception to the calling application in some cases.

    Fixed an issue on some devices that could cause startup loops and “application not responding” messages.

    Fixed an issue where certain elements on the system UI would not properly realign themes when switching between day and night modes.

    Fixed a system issue that caused the picture-in-picture (PiP) window to be unresponsive when using an app (such as Google Maps) in PiP mode and then locking the screen and reopening the app by tapping the notification on the lock screen.

    Fixed an issue where the lock screen wallpaper would sometimes reset to blank or black when setting a new wallpaper for the main screen.

    Fixed an issue that caused poor UI animation in the launcher.

    Fixed an issue where the Intent Selector dialog box was incorrectly displayed during working profile setup, which interfered with the user successfully completing the setup.

    Fixed an issue that caused notifications to display rounded borders incorrectly.

    Fixed an issue where devices may sometimes become unresponsive if eSIM is disabled.

    Fixed an issue where the lock screen would sometimes get stuck in a blank, black screen.

    Fixed an issue with ConnectivityService that, in rare cases, could cause a device to crash and restart.

    Fixed an issue that sometimes caused the system volume slider to get stuck on the screen.

    Fixed an issue where the title of some Settings page was not read correctly when TalkBack was enabled and certain areas in the system Settings application could not be accessed.

    Fixed an issue that could cause fingerprint registration to fail if the device is rotated during registration.

    Fixed an issue where connected Bluetooth devices were ranked incorrectly in the system audio output switcher.

    Fixed an issue where the notification bar did not close after clicking notification launch intent.

    Fixed an issue that sometimes caused the analog clock to not display when viewing wallpaper previews.

    Fixed an issue that sometimes caused only the right side of the Bluetooth headset to pair.

    Fixed an issue that caused the app launch animation to not play correctly.

    Fixed an issue where notifications from priority conversations were incorrectly cancelled when non-priority notification groups were cancelled.

    Fixed an issue where shared tables sometimes crash after pressing the copy button.

    Fixed an issue where UI would not return shared table workflow if user edits images in shared table.

    Fixed an issue that sometimes caused face unlocking to fail.

    Fixed an issue that sometimes causes USB headsets to consume extra power when connected to devices that use Voice over LTE (VoLTE) to make calls.

    Fixed a null pointer exception that sometimes caused the launcher to crash after starting the application.

    Fixed an issue where the Google Play Store app in the working profile would hang or crash on startup when using a device with a working profile.

    Fixed various issues that caused the system UI to crash in some cases.

    Various other issues affecting system stability were fixed.
