Attention gamers: Take your immersion to the next level with these five smartphones

Mobile phones are now much more than just a contacting device; they are smartphones, small consoles and even miniature televisions. In fact, their prowess has developed to such a level that mobile phones now offer a tremendous all-round gaming experience. From placing a bet to playing a first-person shooter game, mobiles can do everything.

In fact, those games considered more traditional such as quizzes, bingo and even the likes of draughts and chess can be accessed at the touch of a button. Entertainment is just seconds away with an online quiz or online bingo ensuring you can bring old-school games into the 21st century alongside an array of new and ever-impressive gaming releases. Of course, you need a device to play them on, so which just five phones stand out?

    iPhone 11 Pro Max

The bigger and better version of Apple’s newest smartphone, the iPhone 11 Pro Max is everything you could want in a gaming phone and more. The 6.5-inch screen on a sleek and modern chassis works wonders whilst its large battery ensures a longer life than the standard iPhone 11 Pro.

Fast loading and speed is vital in online gaming and the Pro Max has this in spades with the A13 Bionic processor. Of course, the price range of approximately £1,000 is enough to make anyone wince, but if you are going to do gaming properly then the Pro Max is certainly worth it.

    OnePlus 8 Pro

The OnePlus 7 Pro was a formidable candidate for a long time, but it has been usurped by the 8. And, for good reason. The high-end Snapdragon 865 chipset that the 8 Pro comes with as well as the 12GB of RAM are impressive to say the least. Plus with a 6.78-inch screen enabling a 120Hz refresh rate, the 8 Pro is sharp and smooth.

A huge battery ensures greater playing time and 5G is also supported, relieving users of the lag stress that ruins gaming. At just under £800, the OnePlus 8 Pro should definitely be considered.

    Samsung Galaxy S20

The highest-profile Android range around, the Samsung Galaxy S20 must be included in this list. Flagship smartphone chipsets are included for both American users and those around the world with 8GB of RAM powering the Galaxy to great gaming.

A refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a QHD+ screen also provide users with aesthetically pleasing gameplay. At around the £900 mark, the S20 isn’t exactly a drop in the ocean, but it is cheaper than the iPhone equivalent.

    Black Shark 2

Chinese company Xiaomi have dabbled in the gaming phone industry in recent years, but this Black Shark 2 is certainly their best creation thus far. By adding more power and a better screen as well as improved gaming credentials, the Shark 2 offers longer and enhanced gaming.

Its availability is a problem, however, as the Shark 2 is relatively rare in some countries, particularly the US. But, priced at around the £450 mark, nothing comes close in terms of value for money.

    Asus ROG Phone 2

The Asus ROG Phone 2 has long been a contender for the best gaming phone and is there any real wonder? A gigantic battery that dwarfs all of its rivals is a good place to start, as is the slick 120Hz AMOLED screen and a 6.59-inch screen size.

A Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset, 12GB of RAM and an envious supply of storage, the ROG Phone 2 is truly a work of gaming art. A clip-on fan is also included and even a gamepad can be bought separately to truly enhance the gaming experience. It’s no surprise therefore that it would deliver a £1,000 hole in your wallet or purse.
