Elephone U2 Pop-Up Camera Smartphone First Hands-On Video Leaked

Elephone is one of the many budget brands from China that are hoping to copy the success of Huawei and Xiaomi. Like many other similar brands, they focussed on the low to mid-end of the market, offering premium looks but affordable. However, there has been a trend to branch out into the premium end of the market. Vivo is the most notable company to do this recently with the launch of the Vivo Nex with Pop-up camera, Elephone looks like they may also be following the trend with the U2, Elephone U2 is based on the design of the Vivo Nex and sets like the big role model on a pop-out camera and it is expected to hit the market officially soon if we judge from the video that surfaced showing a fully functional device. Let’s see it in action in the video below.

Today we got a small video of the Elephone U2, As seen in the video, the device looks stunning. The back of the device that hosts the triple camera is impressive and with a clean design since the Chinese manufacturer decided to place the fingerprint sensor on the right side of the phone, below the power button.

The Elephone U2 is powered by a MediaTek Helio P60 which ensures that it keeps chugging along with ease. Moreover, the battery life on the Elephone U2 should easily last a day on casual usage. The smartphone received a 6.26-inch screen with Full HD + resolution without cut-outs and runs under the new Android 9.0 Pie operating system right out of the box and is equipped with Translator.

Basically, the front of this smartphone is entirely occupied by the screen, which will have a screen-to-body ratio of more than 90%, but such a solution has forced the Chinese company to study alternative ideas for selfie-camera and fingerprint: so the front camera pops up from the body (launching the dedicated app). In short, the Elephone U2 is very fashionable.

The rear camera will consist of a 12MP/5MP/2MP sensor array while the selfie pop-up camera will feature a 20MP/2MP setup. To learn more information about the U2 and other upcoming devices from Elephone, visit their official website.
