Igeekphone News, December 10th: Fairphone launched the 2025 Fairbuds XL over-ear headphones on the 9th local time. This model, while upgrading the drive unit, continues the modular and easy-to-maintain design of the original 2023 version. Fairbuds XL (2025) has abandoned the PU leather material used in the 2023 model for the headband and ear pads, and instead adopted mesh and bird’s eye mesh respectively to enhance breathability and comfort. It now supports 30-minute automatic shutdown and the warranty is extended to 3 years.
Fairbuds XL (2025) headphones offer a more balanced stereo performance, support Qualcomm aptX HD 24-bit wireless audio, feature active noise cancellation and transparency mode, and have a wireless battery life of up to 30 hours.
Fairphone stated that the rare earth element materials used in the driver unit magnets of this new model of headphones are 100% recycled and regenerated. It also uses 92% recycled aluminum and 100% recycled tin to make solder paste. The assembly process is fully supported by renewable energy. In addition, Fairphone will also offer the Fairbuds XL upgrade component starting from the end of the first quarter of 2026.
