OXVA XLIM PRO 3 vs XLIM 3 ULTRA: Hands-On Review

Unboxing both the OXVA XLIM PRO 3 and OXVA XLIM 3 ULTRA side by side, it’s immediately clear that OXVA has leveled up its game in a serious way. These aren’t just incremental tweaks; they feel like a genuine evolution of the series. Both devices are premium in the hand, with tight tolerances, smooth airflow sliders, and responsive buttons that click with satisfying confidence. If you’ve been a fan of the XLIM lineup, you’ll feel right at home. If you’re new to it, you’re in for a treat.

    Design and Build

The PRO 3 carries over the familiar slim silhouette of the PRO 2, but with a few notable changes. The button has moved from the side to the front, now doubling as a firing mechanism, and the screen is nearly twice the size of its predecessor. It feels more purposeful this time around, less like a side thought, more like a centerpiece. The airflow slider sits horizontally and delivers a satisfying MTL pinhole when fully closed.

The ULTRA, on the other hand, goes a step further with a 2.2-inch HD touchscreen that honestly rivals some full-size box mods. It’s responsive, crisp, and genuinely fun to interact with. Worth noting: “ULTRA” doesn’t mean better build quality; both devices feel equally premium. The ULTRA is simply the more feature-rich, tech-forward option of the two.

One honest heads-up: if you gravitate toward the glossy carbon colorways, expect fingerprints and light scratches to show up fast. The textured finishes, like Sky Blue, hold up noticeably better with daily carry.

    Interface and Ease of Use

This is where the two devices really diverge in personality. The PRO 3 sticks with a single-button interface, simple, familiar, and easy to master in minutes. Two clicks open the menu, three clicks adjust the wattage, and five clicks power it on or off. It’s clean and efficient, though one quirk worth mentioning is that the puff counter clears instantly with a single press and no confirmation prompt. Easy to do by accident.

The ULTRA’s touchscreen interface feels like stepping into the future of pod vaping. Swipe up to unlock, swipe left for puff history, swipe down for the full menu; it all clicks into place after one or two run-throughs. Features like eco mode, vibration feedback, adjustable brightness, and multi-language support add genuine utility rather than just padding the spec sheet. If you’re someone who enjoys having control and customization at your fingertips, the ULTRA will feel like a playground.

    Pod Performance and Flavor

Here’s where both devices truly shine, and honestly, it’s hard to separate them. OXVA finally bumped the pod capacity to 3 mL, a long-overdue upgrade that makes real-world use much more practical. Both kits include 0.6-ohm and 0.8-ohm pods, and the flavor output from each is exceptional.

The 0.6-ohm pod on a 50/50 freebase liquid delivered flavor that was noticeably richer and sweeter than what I was getting from comparable devices. The subtleties in the blend came through in a way that genuinely surprised me. The 0.8-ohm pod had a bit of a rough start, initial gurgling after the first fill, but cleared up quickly and never returned. After that, it was smooth, satisfying, and just as impressive as its counterpart. Both pods have shown strong longevity in testing, consistent with earlier XLIM generations that regularly pushed past 35 mL before any drop in performance.

    Battery Life and Charging

With a shared 1500 mAh battery spec, you’d expect identical runtime, but real-world testing tells a different story. The PRO 3 delivered a usable 1245 mAh and roughly 6 mL per charge, which is solid for a device this size. The ULTRA, however, only managed around 1130 mAh and about 5 mL per charge. Whether that’s a consistent issue or an unlucky sample is hard to say definitively, but it’s a gap that’s hard to ignore when both carry the same battery rating.

Charging speed is another area where there’s room to grow. Both devices averaged around 1.2 amps and took between 55 and 67 minutes for a full charge. It’s not painfully slow, but in a market where fast charging is becoming standard, it feels like a missed opportunity.

Verdict: Which One Is Right for You?

Both the OXVA XLIM PRO 3 and OXVA XLIM 3 ULTRA are outstanding pod vapes that cement OXVA’s reputation as one of the most consistent brands in the space right now. The flavor, build quality, and upgraded 3 mL pods make either device a compelling buy.

If you want something straightforward, reliable, and excellent at the fundamentals, go with the PRO 3. It delivers better battery runtime, costs less (presumably), and does everything a serious vaper needs without overcomplicating things.

If you’re the type who enjoys a more tech-forward experience with a beautiful touchscreen, deep customization, and a sleek, premium aesthetic, the ULTRA will scratch that itch thoroughly, just be prepared to manage expectations on battery life. Either way, OXVA has delivered again and highly recommended across the board.
