    Growth of Online Entertainment

Technological advancements continue to rise and this is resulting in a new digital age that we are clearly seeing today. Much of this has been down to the advancements in mobile phones, that are used by a growing number of people each year, for virtually all aspects of life. This is from socialising, to banking and now gaming. The latter is a field growing at a meteoric rate.

Online entertainment on a whole has also seen a further rise this year, with the coronavirus meaning many of us have had to spend extended periods of time within our own homes, due to lockdowns being put in place. That has further added to the rise and resulted in record numbers being seen on numerous online entertainment platforms.

One of these is the gaming industry, with online casinos and games sites continuing to rise with their online offerings. These includes bonuses and promotions, such as the MansionBet offers, which is leading to more and more people choosing these over traditional land-based options. On top of this, these online gaming platforms now offer great forms of socialising for friends, with poker being a key example of this. This is a field that is certainly set to grow in popularity, with technological advancements rising. An example is with VR that is set to bring the Las Vegas casino floor to your own home.

One thing that has been clear in recent years, is the rate at which the mobile markets are growing and mobile gaming being one of them. In 2019 alone, the gaming industry had surpassed the $150 billion mark, with mobile behind 45% of this. That is a figure that is growing and it is only a matter of time before mobile controls the gaming industry. Mobile gaming is now estimated to hit a figure of $57 billion by 2024 annually. Investments continue to be made in the mobile gaming market, which is why we continue to see this growth year on year. Another reason is that we are seeing a shift in the usual demographics of gamers, with the older generation now getting involved and women surpassing males with more gaming on their mobiles at 51%, in comparison to 49% of the overall market being men.

It is not just gaming that has continued to rise, we are seeing a similar process on other forms of online entertainment such as Netflix. They are another to see major growth in recent years, since being founded back in 1992. They are also another company to have been positively affected by the near world-wide lockdowns. It saw them pick up an additional 16 million subscribers, as it further established them as the dominant force in the market. There is no doubting this will rise further, as online entertainment becomes more and more important.
