With the launch of the Moto G 5G Plus, Motorola released its first 5G phone earlier this year. The device brought, partly due to its price tag, a strong competitor for the existing midrange phones in the price segment around $380. Motorola would like to lower the entry-level price for its 5G devices a little, which makes it possible with the launch of the Moto G 5G, the rumors go.
Besides the name of the device, this time the first image of the device was kicked into the wide world via Slashleaks. The image only shows the front of the phone, with the hole punch-notch for the single selfie camera: on the Moto G 5G Plus, Motorola still used two selfie cameras. The LCD screen on the front is said to have a 6.66-inch diagonal, with a Full HD + resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels), rumor Mishaal Rahman writes on Twitter.
For the selfie camera in the screen, Motorola has used a 16MP sensor, which can shoot 4MP photos by means of ‘pixel binning’, where four pixels are combined to show more details. On the back, the manufacturer uses a 48MP main camera, an 8MP telephoto sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. No details have yet been leaked about the aperture of the device or other details such as functions in the camera app.
Other aspects of the device were highlighted in the recent rumors; For example, the Moto G 5G would be equipped with the new Snapdragon 750G chipset – which offers 5G support – together with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage memory. Motorola would have provided a capacity of 5000mAh for the battery. Whether the device supports fast charging is still unknown. Finally, there would be a physical Google Assistant button in the housing.
In terms of specifications, the Moto G 5G is face to face with the Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite recently introduced. When Motorola plans to launch the Moto G 5G is still unknown. Regarding the availability of the Moto G 5G in Europe, there are also some question marks. However, it would be a logical step to also launch the device in the Benelux, given that the Plus version is already available.
