Igeekphone News, May 28th: The technology media Android Authority published a blog post yesterday (May 27th), reporting that in the upcoming iOS 19 system, Apple may introduce new features to enable the direct transfer of eSIM from iPhone to Android phones.
This media delved deeply into the update of Android 16 QPR1 Beta 1 and discovered a new code string in the Google SIM Manager application, suggesting that Apple’s iOS 19 system will add new features to support users in transferring eSIM from iphones to Android phones wirelessly.
The code shows that iOS 19 May add a “Transfer to Android” page in “Settings – General – Transfer or Reset iPhone”. Users may manually start the eSIM transfer through the “Other Options” button.
The transfer process may be similar to the current eSIM transfer method between Android devices, that is, it is completed by scanning the QR code on the Android phone. If the wireless connection fails, the user needs to enter the “session ID” and “passcode” generated by the iPhone on the Android device.
Currently, when switching from an iPhone to an Android phone, the transfer of files and data has become relatively smooth. However, eSIM usually cannot be directly migrated, and users often need to contact the operator to obtain the new QR code activation service. If iOS 19 implements this function, it will significantly lower the threshold for changing phones.
