So I finally got my hands on both the OXVA XLIM Pro 3 and the XLIM 3 Ultra, and honestly, I’ve been glued to one or the other for the past couple of weeks. These are the latest flagships in OXVA’s incredibly popular XLIM lineup. After spending serious time with both, I’m ready to break down everything, from the moment you crack open the box to how they actually perform in daily use.
What’s in the Box?
Both kits come well-packaged and include two pods right out of the gate: a 0.6Ω and a 0.8Ω. In both kits I received, the 0.6Ω pod is in the front, and the 0.8Ω pod is in the back. You also get a USB Type-C charging cable with each device. It’s a clean, straightforward unboxing experience. Nothing overly flashy, just everything you need to get started immediately.
Design & Build
Picking these two up for the first time, the build quality immediately stands out. Both devices are constructed from zinc alloy with impact-resistant plastic components, and they feel genuinely solid in hand, not cheap or plasticky at all.
The Pro 3 keeps the classic XLIM tall and slim silhouette, sitting just under 120mm tall and 26mm wide. It’s lightweight at around 77g, fits perfectly in your hand, and the rounded edges make it super comfortable to hold for long sessions. The 3 Ultra is slightly chunkier, 29mm wide, 16.5mm thick, and weighing in at 90g, but that extra weight actually makes it feel even more premium and substantial.
Color options are generous on both sides. The Pro 3 comes in nine finishes, including Black Leather, Pink Silk, Race Red, and Pro Carbon (my personal favorite). The 3 Ultra offers eight styles like Cherry Pink, Mint Green, Midnight Black, and Bordeaux Red. There’s genuinely something for everyone here.
Displays
This is where the two devices go in different directions, and it’s honestly the biggest decision point between them.
The Pro 3 features a 1.05-inch HD display on the front face. It’s bright, crisp, and significantly better than the previous generation’s screen. For a device this size, it shows everything you need, wattage, battery life, puff count, clearly and cleanly.
The 3 Ultra, though? That thing has a 2.2-inch HD touchscreen. Nearly double the size of the Pro 3’s display, and fully touch-responsive. It comes with animated themes and a much more interactive interface that honestly feels impressive for a pod vape. Is it necessary? Maybe not, but it’s undeniably cool, and the touchscreen is genuinely smooth and responsive once you get used to it.
Pods & Filling
Both devices are compatible with the full range of XLIM pods, including the new 3ml versions that come included in these kits. That increased capacity over the older 2ml pods is a welcome change, less frequent refilling, especially if you’re a heavier vaper.
Filling is done through a side port (technically marketed as top-fill), and honestly, it’s one of the easiest and most leak-free filling systems around. You don’t even need to pull the pod out of the device. After two weeks of heavy daily testing, none of the included pods showed any signs of leaking or flavor degradation; that’s impressive longevity.
Features & Performance
Both devices share the same core feature set, adjustable airflow via a side slider, adjustable wattage, and the choice between draw-activated or button-activated firing. The airflow slider has solid resistance and covers a useful range, making both devices genuinely viable for MTL and RDL vaping styles.
One standout new addition on both models is the Pulse System, OXVA’s built-in power modulation that keeps flavor and vapor output consistent throughout your entire draw, even when the battery is running low. It’s always active in the background, and after extended testing, it absolutely makes a difference in flavor consistency. Small but meaningful upgrade.
There is one thing worth flagging about the 3 Ultra specifically: when using the physical fire button, there’s a slight delay of under half a second compared to the instant response you get with the Pro 3’s button. It’s minor, but if you’re a button-fire person, it’s noticeable. The draw activation on both is instant and responsive, so it’s not a dealbreaker.
Battery & Charging
Both the Pro 3 and 3 Ultra pack the same 1500mAh battery, which is a step up from previous XLIM models. In real-world use, running the 0.8Ω pod at around 18W, the Pro 3 comfortably lasted well over two days on a full charge. The Ultra performed similarly, though the large touchscreen does draw more power, so expect slightly shorter battery life if you’re heavy on the screen interactions.
Recharging is fast. Both devices feature 2A USB Type-C fast charging, and in testing, a full charge from empty took around 35 minutes. A 30% top-up took as little as 10 minutes. That’s genuinely impressive and makes running out of battery far less of an inconvenience.
Final Verdict
Both of these devices represent real, meaningful upgrades over their predecessors, not just cosmetic tweaks. Bigger battery, better pods, improved displays, and the new Pulse System all add up to a noticeably better experience.
If you want a sleek, lightweight everyday carry that does everything brilliantly without any fuss, the OXVA XLIM Pro 3 is an easy recommendation. If you want that extra wow factor with the large touchscreen and a more feature-rich interface, the OXVA XLIM 3 Ultra at just $5 more is absolutely worth considering.
Either way, OXVA has delivered two genuinely excellent pod vapes, and at $35 and $40, respectively, the value here is hard to argue with.
