The Nubia RedMagic 6 Series was launched on March 16th as Nubia’s latest gaming smartphone. The newly launched RedMagic 6 brings a refresh rate of 165 Hz on a 6.8-inch AMOLED screen. The global model supports charging of 66 watts, but interestingly it has a charger of only 30 watts included in the box. In addition, both the global RedMagic 6 and the global RedMagic 6 Pro have a 5,050 mAh battery.
The new RedMagic 6 series has a 6.8-inch AMOLED screen with a 165 Hz refresh rate, with a Full HD resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The device also offers up to 500 Hz of touch response rate and 10-bit color support, with the display being the biggest differential of the model for competitors. Other display features include a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, SGS high brush low seamer, 630 nits of peak brightness, and SGS Low Blue Light Eye Care certifications.
Internally, the device brings the Snapdragon 888, the most powerful chipset for Android today, and the Pro version reaches up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, with a maximum of 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM . The basic variant has 8GB or 12 GB of RAM, and both also offer an option with 128 GB of storage, for those who want to save a little and do not need as much space.
The set of rear cameras is triple, with a main of 64 MP, an ultrawide of 8 MP and a macro of 2 MP, while the selfies are in charge of an sensor of 8 MP. Compared to other gamers models, Red Magic 6 does not stand out in terms of photography and videography. Therefore, it is still good among game phones.
The RedMagic 6 Pro also comes with similar specifications as the RedMagic 6. The Pro Variant, however, has more RAM and storage, and a better cooling system. The RedMagic 6 Pro comes with a 7-layer multi-dimensional cooling system. It includes a 20,000rpm high-speed centrifugal fan and an aviation-grade cooling ice blade. There is a 5,050mAh battery with 66W fast charging.
The other differences between RedMagic 6 and 6 Pro are color (Pro is Moon Silver and 6 is Eclipse Black) and price is also different. The Red Magic 6 is set to cost $599 / £509 (around AU$775), with the Red Magic 6 Pro priced slightly higher at $699 / £599 (around AU$900).
Other features include support for 5G network, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 6, USB-C connector , fingerprint reader under the screen, capacitive trigger buttons and a built-in cooling fan. The devices come out of the box with Android 11 installed under the RedMagic OS 4.0 interface.
