Today, Xiaomi’s new phones 22041216UC and 22041216C have been granted access to the Internet. According to @digital Chat, these two new phones are Redmi Note 12 series.
Previously, Lu Weibing, president of Xiaomi China and general manager of Redmi brand, confirmed that the Redmi Note series will be iterated every six months and will be positioned as “small performance flagship” and “small experience flagship” respectively.
In the second half of last year, Redmi released the Note 11 series, which featured “experience small flagship”, so Redmi Note 12 series, which will be released in the first half of this year, is positioned as “performance small flagship”.
Redmi Note 12 series is powered by Mediatek high performance processor, not Dimensity 8100. This suggests that Redmi Note 12 series may be powered by mediatek Dimensity 1300 or Dimensity 8000 chips.
Dimensity 1300 is based on TSMC’s 6nm process. The eight-core CPU contains four Cortex-A78 cores, including one Cortex-A78 as a super-core up to 3.0GHz, and four Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz. The GPU is ARM Mali-G77 MC9.
Dimensity 8000 is a downced-frequency version of Dimensity 8100, based on TSMC’s 5nm process, and consists of four Cortex A78 large cores + four Cortex A55 small cores with a 2.75ghz large core (Dimensity 8100 has a 2.85ghz large core).

Notably, the industrial design of Redmi Note 12 series is also a big draw. According to @DigitalChat, the Redmi Note 12 series has an industrial design that is recognizable, powerful and durable.
Redmi Note 12 is likely to launch around May.
