Not so long ago, the head of Xiaomi warned that sub-screen cameras in smartphones will not appear soon. But earlier we saw prototypes of smartphones with a front-facing camera built-in for the screen and we know that Samsung has been developing the appropriate technology for a long time. The new data indicates that the second generation of the folding smartphone Samsung Galaxy Fold, among other things, will stand out just such an Under Display Camera.
Designer Veniamin Geskin published the first images of the Galaxy Fold 2. They are based on leaks, so they may turn out to be unreliable. According to rumors, the Galaxy Fold will consist of two screens.
The main screen of Fold 2 will jump from 7.3 to 7.7 inches QXGA and will now have a 120Hz update. This screen will have a hole for the front camera, which must be 10MP. Now speaking of the external screen, it will go from 4.7 to 6.4 inches FullHD, but without higher update rates, according to Geskin.
An interesting novelty is that Fold 2 will also feature SPen, which makes a lot of sense since Samsung’s Note line has larger screens and has the stylus as a symbol. It is interesting to mention that the screen of the leaked model is taking up more of the front area of the device, which now has a drop notch for the camera which also has 10MP.
Now speaking of the other specifications, both screens will be AMOLED, with a difference only on the external one, which will be Super AMOLED. The processor will be Snapdragon 865 with 5G and the cameras will have a set of 12MP wide + 12MP ultra-wide + 64MP telephoto and a depth sensor.
Samsung would present the Galaxy Fold 2 in July 2020. At the same conference, the manufacturer is expected to unveil the Galaxy Note 20. According to Max Weinbach, Samsung’s release calendar for the coming years is made up of 4 ranges of smartphones per year. During the first quarter, the firm presents the new Galaxy S and Z Flip. During the summer, the brand then launched the new Note accompanied by a new generation of Z Fold.
