Samsung has delayed the launch of Galaxy Fold since April and is expected to be released in September 2019. Now reports appear that mention the launch of the Galaxy Fold will be close to the presence of the iPhone 11. Samsung has finally announced that the Galaxy Fold will be released in September probably the debut will take place between 18 and 20 September.
We know that the smartphone is having a decidedly “lively” development, in fact, it would have already had to arrive on the market last April, but the more the marketing was postponed due to the problems encountered with the display and with the hinge of the device.
The release date, therefore, could just coincide with the debut of the next iPhone and Huawei’s Mate X, of which, however, we have no official date. This, in fact, could create real competition, considering that of Samsung as a move to counter Apple and the Chinese company.
We must, however, think that it is a completely “revolutionary” product to which is added the very high price (around $2000) that could attract only a small number of users.
According to estimates, the entire production of the smartphone should reach a number of about 1 million units. In detail, the initial production of the Fold, dedicated solely to the Korean market, should involve around 30,000 units, but the company is expected to reach 100,000 smartphones.
The debut of the Galaxy Fold will in fact not be extended globally. For the moment we know that it will be launched, during the last weeks of September, only in certain markets such as the United States and Korea. Later it could also be available for the UK, Germany, and France.
We will have to see, then, if Samsung’s strategy takes effect, and finally the Galaxy Fold is able to exceed the expectations created from the beginning, and incidentally become a headache for Apple and its new phones, especially now that iPhone sales have fallen significantly compared to past years.
